We all dont know all the facts yet, but lets see what people think, based on the information that has come out so far, was it deliberate fraud or not ?

Every person has a different dollar equivalent of honestly. I think many of us having access to 750K BTC would feel very tempted, so, that's why I think incompetence charge is what he hopes for, but to me this is most probably theft.

He has betrayed people's trust, mishandled his job, believed he was above the standards of others, and believed he was too good to play by the rules, and ultimately considered his own ego and misguided, infantile mentality as superior to others ;D

In the end, he did what he wanted, and fuck everyone else.

...wait where did we hear about this before? ;D

FREE MARK KARPELES

Guilty. Sorry but I don't think anyone can be that incompetent. If you already own a million dollar business you can easily hire smart people to work for you and do it all for you, that is unless you are greedy and think some small savings are good in long term. Hint: no they are not.

Actually i don't really care about mark being guilty or not the thing which matters the most is gox owe people their money and  no matter whatever had happen its a loss happened from their end so they must payback the millions $$$ they are liable of.

Without facts, it's assisine to make assumptions such as guilty or innocent.

Secretive we need more data in this mock trial aka Kangaroo Court
I say incompetent (In more than one way) (Yes I meant it that way but at this time he kind of deserves it  ;))
Actually googled it did not mean the Peter principle but the libido (that said both work)

I would say 'Incompetent' with fair certainty.

I have personal experience of Gox f*ckups - fortunately these were resolved and I didn't lose BTC, only some sleep - that strongly suggests gross incompetence.

On the question of deliberate fraud, I would say innocent until proven guilty and, in my opinion, probably innocent.

On a question of criminal negligence - eg. lost the keys for the cold wallet etc. - we simply don't know enough yet.

Perhaps the more serious question, going forward, is how will users of Bitcoin ever come trust any exchange given the apparently continuous string of exchange collapses, closures, hacks etc. that we have seen.
