Title: Bitcoin.cz, ArsBitcoin & SimpleCoin down.. where to go?
Post by: MintCondition on October 19, 2011, 06:41:10 PM
With a couple of large pools down at the moment, this is an excellent opportunity to try out ABCPool for a while!

Get stable payouts due to the 0% fee PPS, and you even get paid for stale shares!

Once the other pools are back online, you are of course welcome to stay anyway!

Registration and configuration is the same as you are used to at other pools.

Thanks,
Your friends at ABCPool :D

For some reason, this reminds me of the Winnie the Pooh where the whole gang got stuck inside that tree.  Piglet was feeling down about how small... it... was, and how everyone else was big!  But when they got stuck in the tree, only Piglet was small enough to fit through the exit and save everyone!

Just thought I'd share ;)

That's quite a scary story you've got there right before bedtime ;) But it's a nice metaphor.

Also: A big tree attracts the woodsman's axe..

Does that mean then that small pools attract termites ?

Evidently! Big trees are not immune however.

I agree, its a great time for miners to consider their options.
for example ozco.in while we are still paying 55BTC/bitcoin block :D

You know, maybe you smaller pools should band together and attempt to get Stickied at the top of the Pools page?  I know it says "Only for Top 10", but that seems kinda silly as the top pools are getting hit so hard.  Having a "Smaller/Alternative Pools" Sticky, with all the relevant pools that have been around for (lets say) 6mo+ or so would be great in times such as these.

A 6 month criteria would mean basically no pools get listed if they're small.  The only pools older than 6 months are Slush, Deepbit, bitcoinpool (barely), and possibly Eligius.  BTC Guild opened only 5m 2w ago, and I think Eligius came out 1 week before us.

Ahh yeah, maybe 6mo+ is too long.  Just brainstormin on a place to list all the smaller pools for quick referencing.
