I don't understand what you mean, what is the chronology of what happened? after receiving eth, can our wallet be stolen by hackers? or the haker can steal the private key?

All those who received a 0.05 ETH for a period were compromised, this bastard gave everyone gas

And you definitely  right to have alerted everyone

If you receive 0.05 eth and u did not purchase any Etherum
Kindly keep sending out such eth to another account

This is not sufficient information for anyone to act on. What exactly did the hackers steal and how?? Did you naively expose your private keys on phishing sites promised to give you more ETH if you sent ETH to a particular address?

This information a not complete. A lot of people's ETH adresses are public and anyone can send out ETH into those wallets but if the privates keys ate not compromised I don't think anyone can steal your tokens by just sending you tokens.

This is not clear to me but through the messages have gone through you fall into his trap he only use 0.05ETH to take thousands of tokens. You shouldn't have inputted your private key by now you should no how dangerous is it.

Just sending ETH would not reveal any of your information.
You must have done something wrong and you need to think back. Clicked something or a website that would take you to a phising or maybe logged in to something.

If what you are saying is true then this might have done long time ago by other hackers. Easy to send that kind of low amount to multiple address.

Where did you store your tokens? I do not understand what kind of resource the hackers cracked.
Did you use MyEtherWallet? Perhaps you need to install Metamask to protect yourself

I think no one can hack your mew wallet unless you post or giveaway your private key or secret code intentionally or unintentionally, we have to be very vigilant online if we want to secure our portfolio of coins/tokens, never trust anyone online with your passwords and private keys.

Could you give us more information of what really happened? Did you give your private key to this scammer? I noticed that address has a lot of incoming transactions now.

ETH private key is not that easy for a hacker to hack it unless it had accidentally post it on a site where the hacker can easily access your private key account. Next time, make it sure to store your private key to a secured wallet so that it could no longer be hacked.

move the eth balance to another wallet and clear the eth that has the token.

Ify you want to know what is the real problem just check the given tx address to etherscan.io and you can see comments below regarding to the issue so far a quite amount of tokens are hacked.

However,  a thread should be completely detailed so that other suggestions can be evaluated well by OP. the statement are not strong so anybody who does not know have to lurk around what is happening.

can you tell me how they did that? I mean they hacked all wallets via email or through other phishing links? because I still don't know how this can all happen

Still need to describe in more detail the essence of what was happening. I read the topic and all the comments and did not understand about what circumstances and why the hacker sent out 0.05 ETH and how then the wallet that ETH came to became vulnerable. Still, somehow informed about the secret key? Or was the hacker somehow entering the account of the person who received the ethereum? Just curious what tricks are invented by scammers.

If you notice any suspicious ETH amounts have arrived in your wallet unexplained you might've been phished so just move your tokens to a new wallet immediately (if they are still there)

Where did you guys receive the 0.05eth? Was it free or you really worked for it in a sort of bounty or airdrop. Another thing is that I don't think anyone can hack your eth wallet unless they've a sort of your PK. Maybe you have been lured into what you have carelessly gave your PK

This is true. A few of my friends have received 0.05 ETH a few days ago and yesterday their account has been hacked and moved tokens as well as ETH to another address. But how can a hacker do that? There are holes in the security of MEW?

I still don't really think it's possible for any hacker to take our fund from our wallet, if they don't have our private key.
If that really are happened, the best possibilities would be the that phished.

How can it be possible. And how they can steal your fund by sending eth into it. Please chk did you share your Pvt key anywhere or you login with your Pvt key

I don’t understand how this can happen if you just received coins sent from someone. I think this can only happen if your private key is known by the sender. However, only receiving coins doesn’t make your private key exposed to the sender.

Only transaction to another address will not help to steal the assets, I guess you understand it. This is only amount to pay gas but all those addresses - their private keys were stolen before of course.
And I don't understand why did you suggest to transfer all eth and only then transfer your tokens, without eth :)

I think you got panic for whatever happened with your ethereum in your wallet. Your given information will result to many people getting panic like you. Kindly give us a complete and clear information,so that everyone can be informed for whatever that can be risk to their stored ethereum on their wallets.

It is impossible for you to hack if you only give an address of Eth, not your private key, oh common just a simple common sense mate.

I can't fathom as to how this actually happened, all i can guess is that he managed to exploit a security hole in the ethereum platform via some sort of hacked smart contract, or it was checking to see if a specific token was there that acted like a trojan virus

I can't believe it, I doubt, how did the hacker steal your coin? I think your mobile device or computer has been monitored by hackers, otherwise hackers will steal your coins. Check the address when you raise the coin!

Although I do not really understand your message because I know that as long as your private information are not disclosed to a third party and your private key is safe, there is no way your funds can be tampered with because it is the private key that you will use to access your account. But anyway, thanks for taking time to alert everyone about this.

0.05 ETH were sent to us in order to have a gas at the withdraw of our tokens!
In order to prevent the withdrawal it is necessary to deduce all ETH, because the bot deals with transactions and you can not manually be faster than it!

is this a security problem of mem or of eth itself? either way, it sounds like for me as if no address is safe anymore.

Some people in bounty chats had the same problem: at first, they'd got ETH, and then their tokens were stolen! Guess it's a fishing program or an autofill one, which gets your data and then steals your money when a certain sum is collected! Be careful, work with one computer, and use the other one (preferably on Mac OS x) for input-output!  >:(
