Title: [ANN][STC] StormCoin - Taking The CryptoCurrency World By Storm [Scrypt][STC]
Post by: StormCoin on February 28, 2014, 05:11:30 AM

Hey folks, StormCoin is a Scrypt altcoin with a much lower payout reward. 0 blocks have been mined.

About StormCoin

StormCoin is based on Litecoin which uses Scrypt algorithm. Litecoin is 50 per block reward while StormCoin is 5 per block reward which will half into 2.5 StormCoins per block once we hit 2500000 Blocks mined. Litecoin has a total of 84 Million coins that will ever be mined, while StormCoin has a total of 25 Million coins that will ever be mined. Right now Litecoin is currently trading around $14-15 per coin, with StormCoin having only 5 coins per block and 25 Million coins we are hoping for a price around $0.10 to $0.50 per coin.

agreed with above, so no pools at launch huh?
GUESS WHY THERE WASN'T A PREMINE! CAUSE IT'S HAPPENING AS I TYPE THIS!

and the dev will say it isn't premined bythem but rather early miners, blah blah blah

A blatant copy coin with no new features (even though you've been digging for days to find out what people want, and that was THE BIGGEST THING THEY SAID was that if it wasn't something new, then don't bother)

This is nothing more than a bad "get rich quick" scheme by the "dev"

Move along...nothing (worthwhile) to see here

I didn't enter your shitty contest because I'm not going to waste my time for $15 you cheapskate.

So not only are you cheap, unoriginal, and dishonest, but you're apparently stupid too

Edit:

Not to mention, I found it hilarious that you closed each thread after I called out the BS in it...hope that happens here, too, because there's plenty to be found.

started mining at block 13.
didnt found anything yet. either some whale jumped right at start . or the dev has some heavy farm. pretty unusual that i dont find anything.
nvm dev messed up the files direction. i wasnt mining all the time. had to fix this issues first...
not sure if intentional . ::)

To break from my criticisms of the OP:

No they do not..that's actually *why* they're called orphans :)

dev cheated cuz he fucked up the wallet once u started it . it created all the files in same place where the wallet is and not in roaming folder as usual. took me a while to figure out how to fix the messup.
atleast no premine is legit. but having no premine isnt worth this days anything so i dunno. we will see

orphans means that some one else got the coins a millisecond before you did. So yes. each block rewarded some one those coins.

Just unzip and run everything in the resulting wallet, alter .conf and point your miner at the qt.

I'm always pretty bad at getting solomining to work, and usually give in as a pool is launched by the time I've got sorted.

Could someone please post their BAT file text on here, so I could copy it and get up and running please? :)

Still nothing - tried all suggestions.....

Still getting in CGMiner:
Fatal JSON error in configuration file
Configuration file could not be used
Need to specify at least one pool server
Input server details.....

Am I missing something blatantly obvious?

This coins wallet actually makes 2 Directories, 1 where you open it and the other in your Documents....so I copied the coin.conf (Not in text Format) to both & Done

I am in eu too but i think non announced coins are the gos now. Every non announced coin in the past week had great launch compared to pre hypes where at launch everything crashes

Non-announced coins (in my opinion) aren't scams.
Yes there's the element of the DEV and his friends getting on the coin crazy early before everyone else - but that's if they DON'T announce it ANYWHERE as soon as it's launched.

I mean, Flappycoin for example, I was lucky enough to be mining this from the low 100's blocks because I saw the ANN on here.
If it was pre-announced, there'd have been a tonne of people on it, and I wouldn't have gained the coins I did (most likely)

But, for Rubycoin, this was pre-ann (not the best coin granted), but at the same time, I was in there from block 50, and got over 1000 coins in the space of a few mins - the fact that the DEV screwed everyone by only giving out 50/block and not telling a soul about it peeved me off no-end - but still, I got a shed load of coins early on in the process and made good $$$$ in the process.

Like everything, there's two sides - you get lucky if you catch a non-ann coin early. Likewise you can get lucky with pre-ann coins too.

As for this coin, I gave up trying to solo mine.... I'm just 100% useless at solo!

Beecoin is a shining example of how a launch should be done... how can a ninja start be fair at all?  some people are sleeping. Don't think even for 1 second that ninja starts are NOT for the SOLE benefit of the dev. If he wanted his coin distributed widely he would announce.

Devs doing ninja starts are super instamining their coin.... have no doubts on this.

5am euro and midnight est  hehehe what a scam coin.... i would say let it die.... storm in a teacup as they say.

WTF is with this coin - compiled the source and it's called litecoind?  Even worse, the config file location is screwed up:

Code:
Error: To use stormcoind, you must set a rpcpassword in the configuration file:
./coin.conf

Trying to get a pool setup but I cannot with this busted source
