Title: [Noob question] Does blockchain.info drops transactions? Post by: dnaleor on February 28, 2014, 06:17:26 PM Hi, I am a senior member but do not have a lot of experience with this.
I have send a transaction at blockchain.info which shows "low priority". I accidently had a small output. This is more than 24 hours ago. I read somewhere a few months ago that blockchain.info drops unconfirmed transactions after a certain ammount of time, but i can not find the source. So, my question is, can I do somemething about it, will it confirm? Will it be dopped (automatically)? Thanks for the info :) I do not like to give specific details, but this transaction had a 0.1 mBTC transaction fee, but accidently had a change of 1 satoshi... that is the reason why the transaction is not confirming I guess... It may take several days, but it will either confirm or it will be dropped. If it hasn't confirmed within a week, I'm almost certain that blockchain.info will drop it. Probably sooner. It is not an urgent transaction, so no problem :) I also read something about importing the private key in another client and "removing" the broadcasted transaction. any thoughts about that? If the transaction was sent with blockchain.info/wallet, then you cannot "remove" the broadcasted transaction. You have to wait for them to do that. They typically have done that after 3 to 5 days. If the transaction was sent with Bitcoin-Qt, then you need to remove the transaction from the Bitcoin-Qt wallet (or stop running the Bitcoin-Qt wallet). Otherwise, Bitcoin-Qt will continue to re-broadcast the transaction forever (or at least it's supposed to if its still working correctly). |
