Hello, I recently bought a baikal N giant. The problem is that the web page says that the miner is down, I do not see where the problem comes from. Thank you for your help.

Here is a thought. Could it be related to Monero's hard fork? As far as I can tell, Baikal N giant is supposed to mine CryptoNight, but Monero has already hard-forked and changed the algo.

Anyhow, if you already have this model, you could potentially switch to mining other CryptoNight coins. I'm sure there are coins that are still running the old algo, like Electroneum for example.

enter the algo (CryptoNight) in the search box, and you will have a list of potential coins to mine.

I have no idea with Baikal ASICs, but the "miner down" should came with another info like "error connecting" or others.
There are tons of issues that could be the cause of the problem, have you tried contacting their customer support (http://www.baikalminer.com/#services)?

For Example: "Miner down" - Miner: 111 Connection refused means that the mining pool is closed or did not exist.

Electroneum (ETN) already had a hardfork which changed its POW algorithm a few months ago.
All that's left are typical shitcoins which didn't really care of Cryptonight Algo's real goal, mostly scam coins.

Thanks for the update. I was under the impression that the remaining coins are not really worth it, but I didn't know for sure. So that should really mean bad news for the OP. If nothing, this illustrates the danger of buying ASIC equipment without a substantial number of solid coins that wouldn't all change their algo at the first sight of ASIC.

Just OFF/ON back the miner and if it’s still doesn’t work, take out the micro sd card and flash again the fw but first check if the card or fan if it’s faulty or not..
