Title: Any VIRTUAL Bitcoin Debit Card Provider in 2018?
Post by: Naster on August 21, 2018, 12:26:42 PM
As you know, Wave crest holdings who was the card issuer for almost 98% of the Bitcoin Debit Card Providers stopped providing this service since the beginning of this year. Since, companies like Advcash and many other stopped providing cards.
Many are still advertising the Prepaid Cards, but once you register, you get the message that the cards are currently not available.

An example: Cryptopay still advertising cards here : https://cryptopay.me/bitcoin-debit-card
After I have been in touch with their support, here is the message I got:

Quote
Hello there,
We are working to bring the cards back!
We have already opened pre-order of cards for Russian Federation. As for the European card programme, from the technical perspective we are 100% ready for our new cards, but, we're yet to receive the final legal approve from one of our issuing partners.
We'll start working on expanding the list of supported countries shortly after.
That is why we don't provide an exact timeframe yet, we don't want to give any false promises 🙏
Please stay tuned, we will notify you of any changes! 😉
In the meantime, you can use SEPA transfers to withdraw funds to your bank account. We also have an option to buy BTC/LTC/XRP using your debit card. Let me know if you’d like more information about that. 😊"

So does anyone know any Provider who is currently offering at least Virtual Debit Cards?

If you are from EU I know that Wirex work as they've got it sorted out.

Other than that you could look for providers that issue master cards such as payeer, although I've never tried payeer and not sure how reputable they are.

Here is an unofficial list if you want to look for more available cards:

Seems like a really rich list, although it looks like it haven't been updated recently as some websites give 404 or won't load like this website gcx.io

Is this trusted? I'm okay with KYC but i don't want some random people get my personal information and then do something illegal with it.

Not just because of Brexit but because many card providers change their terms very often and sometimes even without any annoucement.
Similar has happened to my recently with Wirex.
It's hard to find reliable card provider with fair terms and despite demand there are just few of them and no new appearing on horizont. It's such a shame.

Thank you OP for asking this question. I'm not sure if people realized but OP was asking for a VIRTUAL card provider. Most of the examples provided as I know it are talking about physical debit/credit cards, the plastic ones which they send to you. Virtual also usually means you can use once and dispose, which is also something I really want need.

I have a bad experience of using a card TWO times and it was stolen or hacked from the site that I used it at later on. So hard to fight with the bank that I didn't spend all my cards halfway across the world. With virtual cards, use once, throw away so even if stolen, nothing happens.

I was talking especially about VIRTUAL card provider. Not all card providers offer virtual cards. They are good for security.

I suggest not to use any virtual debit card for bigger deposits as those cards stop working anytime and are not accepted everywhere.
As you know there were many bitcoin debit card providers before but all seems to have stopped working. Now the only working real card provider you can find in market is Paycent.com , it works and ships globally

I wasn't aware of there ever being any virtual card providers.

As for physical cards you'll either have to be in the US or EU unless you want to spend trillions on stuff like the Wagecan thing.

And it seems only Coinbase and Bitpay in the US have been able to maintain cards all the way along. I have a Wirex card but going on the shelf life of these cards I would never leave a penny on one.

bumping up this topic to get some news.
It looks like currently there is no REAL single Bitcoin Debit Card Provider on the market?
Many are still advertising on their websites but as soon as you approach them or register on their websites, you are informed that they don't provide cards OR they provide cards but can't be loaded with Cryptocurrencies.

It all depends on where you are. If you're in the US you have Bitpay and Coinbase. In the EU you have Wirex. I've got one of those and it's fine.

It's true there's a load of places that haven't bothered to update anything. There may be a few others. There's nothing worldwide like Xapo's card any more.
