Title: Dear Indian Miners
Post by: thegreatvsb on August 23, 2018, 08:06:19 AM
We have many mining communities, pools, groups around the world, most of them are country base but we dont have any Indian based only pool/site/group. Why should we guys be behind of all in this, I urge you guys that we all should make a pool/group for cryptocurrency discussion or mining. Many of us mine coins like XMR/Zec/BTG so why dont we start an Indian Based Pool & earn together with everybody's help.
What do you think guys, comment below.

Cause UNITY is STRENGTH!

The main problem is that Cryptocurrency usage is banned in India and coming openly to state that you are doing mining means you will come to picture as it is illegal to mine cryptocurrency in India.

Your idea is good but for that it should be legal to use cryptocurrency.

As far as i understand there is no legislation that says that cryptocurrency mining is illegal, the only news till now is that the RBI has come up with a circular to the banks asking them to stop dealing with crypto currency exchanges, first thing with India is that the climate is not conducive for mining, you need to spend a huge amount of money to keep the machines cool because of the climate, there are places with cool climate but is it possible, i am not sure.

In India, main problem is no body work openly in bitcoin or any other blockchain project. Authorities also not agree and none of law on this. Indian people scare from this.

I think now not many left as people have stopped it because of the government decisions  and regulations as they are not in the support . So people might be least interred in such things as it was way before 2018 . Overall strength now might be very few .

its great but, the electricity price is too high in india, and mining these cryptocurrencies are not a wise step, but if one miner can afford the electricity price and market fluctuations then i think possible? OR am not sure if possible to run miners over solar panel ?

Not sure if still any one does mining in India and that too with solar power. As due to unclear government rules and regulations and quite strict that they do not want to encourage the crypto currency in the country people have just left it.

So are you trying to say that you do not get electricity bill for mining the coins, or you use somebody else electricity like stolen etc and mine from those electric wires? Because in the country electricity cost is very high and due to which people have left it.

Its not just the electricity cost of running the miner. That could have been managed but most of the regions have a hot, humid climate. That adds to the ventilation/ air-conditioning requirement. Yet, i don't think its impossible.
Sourcing the hardware is one of the major issues. There are lot of scams in GPU/ Mining hardware. If you want to buy single unit as a hobbyist, most sites like Cannan etc. won't allow this. They only take bulk orders. The custom duty is also an issue as the suppliers want you to handle it yourself.

If @rohitdhaka here or anybody else has experience with sourcing miners then it'd be great if you can share your experience about this.

Even if people would start GPU mining the main thing is that GPUs that are used for mining aren't easily available and the prices are sky high if they are available.

So because of this, Indians are behind in the bitcoin mining race. But not because we lack knowledge... Just the resources to scale.

GPUs are available but is it still profitable to mine bitcoin?

Don't think so,that is why people invest bitcoin by just buying it rather than mining.

I think in India their is no scope available because government has deiced to ban it. SO if anyone invest in such equipment then it would turn out to be a waste as they would not be able to even sale as no one would buy now after government draft regarding ban has come.
