They still have internet. They may buy them or trade products and services for them like everyone else. I have seen no Ukrainian offerings thus far - not that I am looking for any.

That said, an unlawful Coup was not the way to handle it according the the Ukrainian Constitution, so I do not believe supporting illegal activity to be the best use of Bitcoin technology. That paper has got to mean something. Who you would be helping are not the Ukrainian people, but the EU agent provocateurs and destabilizing forces causing all this to begin with.

Quote from: The Ukrainian Constitution
Article 108. The President of Ukraine shall exercise his powers until the assumption of office by the newly elected President of Ukraine.

The authority of the President of Ukraine shall be subject to an early termination in cases of:

1) resignation;

2) inability to exercise presidential authority for health reasons;

3) removal from office by the procedure of impeachment;

4) his/her death.

None of those occurred.

It was a violent and lawless Coup.

Now, if your wish is to use Bitcoin to help the rightful and lawful Ukrainian President to return safely to either rule or be impeached, then we can talk about support, but he does not need that help.

I think Ukraine could gain much from Bitcoin though, as with every nation. Probably lots there already using it.

Well, there is one simple way for the government to shut down bitcoin, and that's to shut down the internet.  From what I've heard, telephone access has been shut off in parts of Crimea

If the Ukranian people want "help" then they can ask their new "leaders" of which three (two governors and a minister) are among the richest oligarchs in the country. One is a billionaire and the others have hundreds of millions. If that doesn't work then they can ask the European Union and IMF which are willing to lend them endless money in exchange for privatizing all industry, gaining control of all resources and "thirdworldizing" their economy and society. This was a revolution carried out by the elite oligarchs, using Neo-Nazis as muscle on the street. A large part of the Ukranian public in Kiev and the West of the country supported this since they believe they it will help them gain independence from Russia. The same logic was at work when they collaborated with the Nazis, believing it would bring them independence from Russia, if you want to know what happened that time, just read Wikipedia:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_collaborationism_with_the_Axis_powers . For those too lazy to read it, I'll just note that the result included the LITERAL ENSLAVEMENT and execution of masses of Ukrainians by the Nazis, after using them to attack other slavic groups.

I wonder why Ukrainians believe asking for "help" from a new German Imperialist EU (AKA the Fourth Reich) will turn out any better for them. The Ukrainian people (at least tacitly) supported the recent coup and they will have to deal with the consequences.

Why would anyone even consider donating to such a vague and unjust cause, without even knowing exactly what the bitcoin would be used for???
