How much money do I need to invest to start trading?

This depends entirely on your position financially and what you are comfortable with. Anyone who has been in crypto/Bitcoin for a while knows only too well that you can lose a LOT of money quickly if you don't know what you are doing.

I'd suggest learning a lot about specific coins and projects before diving in. Look for projects that have real life use cases and not empty promises.

There is tons of information on here that can point you towards good investments, however the final decision has to be your own. The golden rule here is- i really would only suggest investing what you can afford to lose.

There are no guarantees what will or won't succeed. So please do your due diligence before parting with any of your cash.  :)

From $10 to $10,000 or even more, probably. There is no limit. It is just that your gains depend on your initial investment in trading, and so does your losses. So it totally depends on you if you want to risk more in trying to gain more, or you want to play it safe and go in with a small amount. Totally up to you.

100$ is enough to learn how to trade, explore the market about a month, in my opinion. When you have more experience, you can invest larger amount.

I would start with only a small amount of money until you do a lot of research and learn everything you can about blockchain.  A lot of people here will promise you Lambos and diamonds but this market is extremely risky and volatile.

There is no fixed required amount for your investment. But remember, you have responsibility for your own money.

I suggest you should invest in knowledge first such as its technology, how many ways to invest in the crypto world, etc, but the effective way that I think it'll be useful for you is learning from others' failure. The key is to keep money as much as possible before taking profit from this market.

High investment can make you get high profit but the risk is also high accompanied with it.

Because of an unstable market, in many cases, we can not predict fluctuation based on technical analysis, but for me, learning basic technical analysis is still good for newbie like you.

For starters read some basic info in the forum. Diversify your altcoins, fon’t Invest only in one, make research again, in which one.

No matter how much, you should use idle funds to invest, because it is full of danger, I think as a beginner, the initial capital of 500 US dollars is enough!

Use Bitcointalk's search function or use Google. This question has been asked multiple times in the past already. There's no point making another one as you're going to pretty much receive the same answers anyway.

Actually, the amount depends on your type (style) of trading. As for me, I noticed that the most profitable trade happens when I operate by 50-100 ETH.

Post by: BQ on August 26, 2018, 11:32:20 PM
can you define "invest" and "trading" here? you seem very inexperienced with this in general (? just by looks, I can be wrong). you shouldn't invest anything to trade unless you feel that you have a clear idea to begin with! which, if you have to ask such a question, you probably don't!

instead, start off by atleast getting some bitcoin (now that the market's low), and you can then either a) hold bitcoin b) trade to an altcoin and hold("invest") c) trade to altcoins to further increase your bitcoin stack!

How much money do I need to invest to start trading?
You mean daytrading for example? You don't need much. You can start with $30 or $50 and make $5000 from it with good daytrade talent.
I must warn you tho, daytrade talents are extremely rare because human emotions come into daytrading so much that most fail miserably sooner or later.

It is advisable to start with small amounts. 10$-20$. For beginners, it is important not to earn ,understand how the market works. And after you understand and learn you'll have to decide how much to start trading for profit.

As a beginner try to invest 100$ and this is the right time to invest as market is in deep and most of the  top projects are 70% to 80% down  in the value as compare to its  peak value
Don't to day trading just buy good coins or tokens and then hold for atlist 2 to 3 months you will surely make some profits.

It's up to your capital. If you have $1000, you can try with 100$ first. Never bets all your money, even when you are an expert, I think so. Because no market is always stabling, if it's down, you will lose all.

I'd start with a very small test amount. Say 100-300 dollars. Then I'd make the trades I thought would work and see what happens. Think what it would be like it you had 10-100 times more invested. That would give me an idea of the risk. Part of it is my ability to hodle and not even look at the charts when my investment dips. Just wait. Not advice, just how I do things.

You need to start from low amount and step forward one by one everytime you earn some profit. You need to study trading system on your own so you can have a lot of knowledge about cryptocurrencies. I would recommend you to participate in bounty campaign and the money that you will earn can be used as your investment so you can practice trading. Always do your own research.

While not really "trading" per se, I started out with an investment of about $25 and I slowly add to that when I can. For the most part, my 'investment strategy' has been to hodl and wait for it to go to the moon. So from that standpoint, any starting amount is "enough" no matter how small.

How much money do I need to invest to start trading?
I think there is no minimal invest, you can start invest to trading only for $20 or less, it all depends on where exchange you want to trade.

Because each exchanger has a different minimum deposit requirement.

May i suggess ? If you want for long investment you can go to bitcoin. But if you want for short term investment then go to altcoin.

Just make sure you already know what is the risk of trading bitcoin or altcoin. And keep your safetybelt and dont be greedy buddy.

I'd start with $100-200. This is the amount that is not a big deal to lose but you can assess your skills in trading and get to know whether you like it or not.

If you don't have much money, $100 would be a great amount to start investing a coin. I also start at that amount and everyday I gain from my trading but you must consider what coin are you investing and will it make you high profit. I invest an altcoin that have low price and have a nice project because it can gain more percentage when it goes up.

If you are just starting in the world of trading crypto, I suggest you to start only with a very small amount of investment just like around $20. This is for you to familiarize yourself and minimize the risks that you can do if you just started in trading. Personally, I am comfortable with trading some dogecoins I doubled my $20 in a month, yes I know that it takes to many days to make some profit if you only invest a small amount, but if you get into it and became familiarized you can scale up until you become better in trading. Good luck to you and all of us happy trading. Always remember to invest what you can afford to lose :)

What amount of money you need to start cryptocurrency trading depends on how much you can afford, starting from $10. The truth is that there is higher probability that you can lose your investment if you have not mastered cryptocurrency well enough. Even professional traders lose money.

Having known the risk involved, the choice is yours as your investment will ddtermine your returns(profit/loss).
A general advice is that:
1) Do not put all your eggs in one basket ( Don't invest all your money)
2) Diversify your portfolio.
3) Do not go all in to a particular coin no matter the prospect.
4)Have a trading strategy and be disciplined with it.

In order that would be enough to trade and $ 100. But if you want to not only trade, but also earn, then you need to acquire a much larger amount for example from 4-8k $. But I add to this, without knowledge of trade, you are likely to lose your savings ..

How much money do I need to invest to start trading?
The question of how much to invest depends on the financial situation. Definitely invest in the beginning, just how much you are willing to lose. It depends whether you want to trade or invest in the long run. Also important, i would consider what altcoins you will invest in. Definitely investing in giants such as bitcoin, etherum and the like is a good step forward. To start with, start with a small amount of $ 100 to $ 200, and increase over time. The crypto market is incredibly volatile, jumping in tens of percent in both directions, so you'll see what time you do. If you are profitable, you can reinvest this profit and thus increase your portfolio.

To be honest, there is no such definite amount mentioned anywhere so you can start with as low as $10 or even less. I would recommend you to start with the lowest possible amount and invest your time in doing a research before taking any decision. When you invest the small amount, you have multiple chances to test your strategies and learn from it based on trial and error method. There is no minimum and maximum amount when it comes to the investment in crypto, subject to practical limits.

The amount of money recommended may vary, everything depends on your possibilities and how much you are willing to lose. and the most advisable is that you use a money that you do not need or are going to use soon. many recommend at least something over $ 500

Title: Re: Starting amount
Post by: darkie199 on September 05, 2018, 05:21:17 PM
Well, there is no limitation according to my belief. It totally depends on the amount you are willing to invest, if you are a beginner i will rather suggest you to learn a bit about the market and then decide how much to invest. I agree with the fact that sometimes it depends on luck but mostly you need to invest in projects that are promising and seems to be  beneficial in industries. In fact, a project/coin which will not come into use in real-time is prone to be a failure as there will be not much usage, rather invest in projects which have good future and will be useful.

It will really depend on your finances. To start, use an amount of money that wouldn't affect you financially if you loose it.

Also, try to start with a small amount for "practice" and to understand how the process works. Before starting though, read about crypto currencies to understand this world better before you dive fully in!

Good luck :D

How much money do I need to invest to start trading?

You can start trading with even $ 10. If you are a beginner, then start small. In no case can you invest in the crypto currency all the savings or take out loans, which, sooner or later, will have to be given. Playing the last money can not be calm, confident and long-term. So it leads to hasty decisions and inevitable losses.

It depends on the project you want to invest in and also it depends on your financial status because there are some ICOs that has different minimum investment so you need to choose correctly that depends on your financial capability and also make sure before you invest in something make sure you review it a lot and make a right decision because there are many good ICOs to invest in maybe they are scams maybe they are not so choose wisely.

Not necessarily much. And it is better to practice on demo accounts, to learn how to trade to understand the process. After gaining experience, you will decide how much real money to trade. You can start with any amount. The greater the amount at the exchange trades the greater the profit, but do not forget the fact, the greater the amount the greater the loss ,will be.
