Hi guys, i joined in crypto world about 1 year ago. When the market always green and btc price go up everyday form 6k to 19k.
I like to be a trader and i buy some coin like BNB, BTC, and some eth for ico. Just hold some time then sell it when the price up to 10-20%, then i can't buy back when the price up to 300%.
i buyed 500 binance coin at 2,5$ and sell at 3,8 usd then it up to 6-7 usd, i can't buy 500 bnb anymore, then price up to 8-9 usd and more.
Buyed 0.5 btc at 6k and sell at 8k. then i can't buy back when price up to 10-12-15-19k.
When it happened, i think better is become a holder. i buyed some coin / token and just hold in my wallet, then the price down and down everyday.
Now i lose 2/3 my money.
Can you suggest for me : just keep my coins / tokens or sell it. ( now is : 26.Aug.2018 )  ???

That's life, sometimes we choose the wrong decision thinking that is right one. And choosing right one thinking that it is wrong, we hold coins that continues to increase a negative percentage while we sell a coins that haspotential to increase in some time.

the question is how long you can afford to hold it ? it's totally understandable for us to see this kind of dump.
it's because of the mass pump that happened with cryptocurrency a few months later,but it will not last long.right now we are trying to stabilize its support and position before making another breakout,but do not put too much your hope into it.
at best it will be back in around $10.000 or around that and every altcoin will regain at least 60% all of its price,but it won't surpass its peak.
last year we got pumped because of hype,and because of that too the price drowned to the ground.
so,if you can hold it at least for a year or until the price is recovering.why not ?
but if you can not,i think it would be better for you to sell it right now.because before the recovery we should see another dump attempt in the future.

Just be patient and wait for another drop to buy low. If you don't want to wait, buy now and go for a long-term strategy and hold your coins, you'll make some decent profits in the long run.

If you sold during the last rally, you can simply buy back right now, current price is around 6700, why would you wait for the price to go up to the 5-digit level? buy now or wait for another dip if your exit point is around the 8k's.

For now, you should to hold for a little times. Just trying to find the moment for sold.

You had all of your regrets  when you have an off timing upon selling your coins, maybe take a little more patient to sustain the price hike on your coin, not tempted on the first pump and keep on your mind there is always a second explosion in every pump.

Not sure about your story, Have you ever seen the price of bitcoin has been touching the bottom price of this year which around $5800 and it doesn't make sense to see you are creating this thread. If you have sold them at 8k and this still can become your chance to buy back bitcoin again.  :-\

See, that's your problem right there. You thought the market will rise everyday; that's simply not possible as what goes up must come down (i.e., balance/equilibrium, and cryptocurrencies market is no different). As for the solution: you need to make your mindset, and draw your plans and goals, then start trading. You need to learn charts reading (i.e., Technical Analysis)—it won't make you buy/sell exactly as you would have wanted to, however, it will enhance your chances of buying the bottom and selling the peak.

It happens to all, do not be upset. Just be patient, in advance, calculate everything and go ahead !!! Next time it will turn out one hundred percent! Crypto currency is always a big risk. This must be understood.

Its normal cause most times we just think we did what is right but its actually wrong but cant just keep blaming yourself all you have to do is keep a close watch on when to hold when sell and when to buy that way you make things right

The price is at very low now. So I will choose holding and invest more if I have money. I think the market will recover soon. When the price up to 4 - 5 times compared to now, I will sell them and don't care about it even if it increase continue. I will wait until it falls down to buy it again even if it may take a long time 6 months or one year.

if I were in your shoes, I think I'll hold it because I don't want to regret the same thing for the second time, sold when the price hasn't been to the moon is a valuable experience, I know you suffer losses now but do you have another goal if you sell it?

The best is to know those coins that have potential and hold them for  mid or long term profits. I myslef have regretted selling for peanuts lots of times

Happens with the best of us. It's really hard to follow the moves of whales. When you think that you can hold anymore and sell off to have anything you have, than the market would start to rise. And when you realise that the market is actually growing and buys, the prices would start decreasing the next day.

it is a normal thing, and it has become a human trait when we always feel dissatisfied when we get profit and always complain when we get a loss. actually there is nothing wrong with what you do but to determine the long term or short term it is definitely a risk that must be ready to face.

No one will able to give a perfect answer for the question of the OP. Because anything can happen in this market. It is very hard to predict the crypto market specially. Do your own researches and take the decisions according to it. No one is perfect here.

In the trade do not know what will happen, you need experience and good luck. In my opinion, you should persevere a little you will succeed in trade. Wish you luck.

So often it happens in the market that we make wrong decisions. Sometimes it seems that everything is going the other way. In this case, I would advise to leave the market for a while and return later with a cold head.

Most people loose money trading, its not just you. Trading is not a zero sum game. The exchanges earns billions in fees and you compete against professional traders. You can get lucky, but you much much much more likely to loose.

Quit trading, unless you really want to do the work necessarily to gain en edge. It is extremly difficult and hard work and you will most likely never make it.

Well, the only thing I could say is that, welcome to the world of cryptocurrency, where the market goes up and down like crazy almost instantenously. Just get used to it and try to understand the market movements. Learning how to speculate is the way to go.

Now is good time to buy to keep and spend when you will need to buy stuff. It is much better time then was 8 months ago.  

Don't sell now because it's dip and wait for new pump and sell it with big profits. I can recommend don't sell 100% because price can continue to rise up - sell partly with several orders, for example:
- sell 50% if price will x2
- sell 25% if price will x2.5
- sell 15% if price will x3
- sell last 10% if price will x3.5-x4

This, end of story.  The problem op seems to be having is not holding his coins long enough, but that's a problem one can only identify in hindsight.  It also does not sound like he's losing money, so that's a plus for him.  Maybe what he should do is figure out how much money he can comfortably invest in crypto for the medium term, maybe 2 years, and then buy a coin with good growth potential.  I would not try to guess how any coin is going to do past that period and I think most of the cheaper ones will be worth near zero after about 3 years.

There isn't anything wrong with selling too soon while still making a profit.  A lot of traders never end up making as much profit as they could have.  That is expected, since none of us know the future.  That's where the 'that's life' statement comes into play.  If you made even a small profit, it's still profit.

We all having an emotional experience. Actually if you hold it or investing in long term you will gain alot of profit. You do it right but if you expecting a short term income then you need a good trade, Hodling may risky at first but selling them first is a risky decision. You should read and understand the market situation before jumping into a new idea.

as you said you made opposite moves while the trend continues. this should be usefull to buy on correction lines. but you never know where the trend stops and how long correction continues. the point dont make act in the opposite direction of the trend. if prices keep going down buying coins very risky. if the prices keep going up selling coins very risky.

I think it's impossible to choose the ideal action for crypto currency. Here everyone is wrong

chose the right point to buy and sell is very important skill
not anyone can do that.
it's normal when losing in this market.
my advise to learn carefully about market before make a decision.

Buddy, you should always look at the market and read cryptocurrency news and follow them. If the rumor went about the sale of coins, then it will grow and Vice versa.

There is no point selling them at this moment because you are already on the losing end, but you have lose already, because you are still holding the coins, you will lose when you sell them off, So i will encourage you to hold your coins. just forget about it and be patient, market will still improve, if not this year and next year, if not next then next two. just chill.

You have to learn from your mistakes. We never know what is the perfect time to buy or sell, but
this is why we do not trade with all our coins and funds in one trade. You always have to be prepared
for plan b,c,d ...etc. if the trade  goes to the opposite direction than we predicted.

Because short term trades are accompanied by luck. If you keep your coin for several months or years, you will have big profits, I guess. The cryptocurrencies will attract many more investors in upcoming years.

we all make the same mistakes. to avoid this, come up with a strategy to increase profits or reduce losses.

When i come to crypto world, i don't have any experience about trade or hold.
Many people try to told me that i can make easy money with crypto but i'm lucky not falling in MLM project.
They don't know anything about crypto, just want to collect more investor for 7% bonus.
So when you reply this topic, i can see many valueable experience. No more regret and it refresh my brain.
i hate ponzi, mlm but i thank they bring me to crypto world.
