Can we connect a Ledger Nano S to a tablet?

Yes. One way would be as bitfocus has suggested which will give you the 'mobile' bridge to your nano s.

The other way would be to setup a GNU/Linux environment [1] on your android tablet and install ledger live on it.
This will give you the desktop version of the UI (ledger live) for your nano s.

It must be unbearable to use a gnu/Linux environment on a smartphone/tablet. Unless your device has 2 Go Ram at least, the system must lag most of the time (?) I won't even try to bother with it otherwise the tablet may go through the window

You don't need 2 Go to run a gnu/Linux distro... For example, Lubuntu will run perfectly smooth with 1Go, arch linux will run fine with 512Mb. If you don't need a window manager, you can even run smoothly with less resources (altough i'm pretty sure you'll need a window manager when you try to run a linux distro on your tablet tough).

If you know what you're doing, you can even install slax, i've seen it run on systems with 64Mb of ram :)

I see,... When I was writing the comment I was thinking more in case you use a browser. I know Lubuntu uses about 200 Mo but once you start to use a browser with it, (for example, Chrome/Firefox can easily eat 0.8 Go RAM) you can quicklly be out of RAM. And the processor on a tablet/smartphone is weaker than a laptop
When I wanted to learn how to Linux I was buying a VPS with 1 Go RAM and used Openbox with it. It was using about 100 Mo but using a browser the RAM was filled pretty quickly. Arch is hard to use and Slax is for grandfathers :D

I have happily used a Ledger Nano S on my android tablet (and phone) in conjunction with Mycelium and an OTG ("On-The-Go") cable to manage BTC.

Not sure what options there are for other coins tho... I'm not a big user of ETH or other altcoins to be honest.
