Mark was actually running CallyHost and he suddenly jumped onto the bandwagon. As a CEO he is definitely responsible for the failure now. But was the whole thing within his grip ?

My 2cents. Programmatically it is probably Jed's fault. And the monetary blockage is due to international pressure. Mark is probably not personally responsible. But he had been pulling the wool over our eyes for a criminally long time. He knew people's deposits where just sinking into a black hole. He is personally responsible for mtgox's collapse that's for damn sure. Where the coins went we will probably never know.

Despite any external factors like US Gov involvement, etc., it does seem that his ego is much bigger than his supposed "high IQ". And as a CEO he was/is completely incompetent.
