Title: Bitcoin to ETH ?
Post by: Djouga on August 28, 2018, 08:30:34 AM
Hello, like lot of people, i'm thinking that crytpo market will pump one day, (maybe this year, maybe next, but it will). actually ETH dump more than BTC, and so my question is : It is better to exchange my btc in eth ? If price increase and reach their past prices, have ETH more potential (in %age) ?

If you chose to transact with altcoins then ETH is the best solution. But, if you compare BTC with ETH than BTC will always place in the first position. However, both are performing great and have good potentials. You may invest in both.

Here are my thoughts: When the market is bearish like now it is better to hold BTC. When the market is Bullish like it was at the start of 2018, it was better to hold ETH or other altcoins. The reason is in bearish markets bitcoin loses much less than most of the altcoin. In bullish markets some alcoins, not all of them, can bring higher gain, percentage wise, than bitcoin. You might be better off if you hold the winner alts in bullish markets.

Bitcoin is the king crypto and I think it will be better to stick to Bitcoin. Ethereum has potential but not more than bitcoin. Bitcoin is the king and will always be.

I think that btc is the coin which is worth considering now. Along with btc, it can provide you with the great possibilities now and later. Take them into account  and you will see how great ether is

Bitcoin will always remain in front of ETH so best is to hold on bitcoin or others altcoins if you think will grow (100x to 1000x).

Actually it is up to you based on this it will be wise decision if you do not change all the coins to ETH because if there is problem you can recover with other easily.

Well, if we're talking about potential then I think that what you're saying is essentially correct. Bitcoin has already been around for a longer period of time than ETH. Which means that ETH may be significantly undervalued at the moment (taking into consideration the normal market fluctuations). There really is so much potential in ETH especially when it comes to earnings.

Based on this topic I think you should reserve some coin in your hand so if anything happen with ETH those you can use as backup also you should not change all coin in ETH. Because this market is so unpredictable.

It will but you don't know what that will be happened. Because more ethereum holders are liquidating their ethereum into the bitcoin and that has made a deep crash to the price of ethereum. I just try to suggest you to keep your amount in the bitcoin form and waiting for the result of ETF announcement.

The whole cryptocurrency market is very unstable right now. But I would just you to be patient and not panic. There will always be pumps and dumps in the market. Try hodling your coins and have faith on the coin on which you are investing on.

See the current market situation. ETH or even BTC is not much different, but if calculated from the value (%), I advise you to check your BTC first. The positive value of BTC is much better than ETH.

You can do that, but it will be better to not to change all of your coins to ETH. It is unwise to have all your eggs in one basket. Have multiple options open if one fails.

Etherium does not have high volatility, so if your goal is to increase funds, it is better to buy a few altcoins in the hope of a future pamp.

Recently ETH developed themselves in some issues and they are really great. But I am not so sure about exchanging BTC. BTC has the biggest network in this market and it is spreading. So exchanging it will not be a wise decision.

The whole market is in downtrend now. But when it will be stable I think ETH will be the best option for you. It has improved and added some great features. So I prefer to exchange your BTC with it.

It woyuld be better not to transfer the BTC to ETH. Because BTC is the best coin and it is slowly rising up. But if you still have doubts, you can transfer them, but not all. Keep some on hand.

You better keep your BTC for long-term holding. ETH goes up and down every time, and the price BTC is better.

In analysis, Bitcoin has a much better price stability. In fact, at this time the price of bitcoin is much more stable when the state of the digital currency market is not in a good condition. Etherum is currently in a bad condition and this is proven by a price decline that almost reaches 200USD. This is a bad condition, but never be pessimistic because pessimism will only worsen the situation. Believe that digital currencies will have a bright future and we must continue to support from now on.

First of all, BTC is the best coin in the market. Forgoing them and getting ETH does not seem like a good option at all. Yes ETH is the best altcoin, but BTC will get better and recover from the dip. If you are still inclined towards transferring them, then you should not transfer all of them.

There is some problem is going on in the current crypto market. The price is not stable since last year. A lot of people are facing loss recently. I think if you invest in Ethereum, you will be profitable.

Why not choose both bitcoin and ethereum to invest? We know that bitcoin is really great coins with higher value and potential to  increase more because of the demand. But ethereum also is one of the profitable altcoins and it has many uses. It is up to what will you choose and the best for you.!

if I for example have Bitcoin I will not exchange it for Ethereum, because I prefer to hold bitcoin, but for example now I have more money, I will buy Ethereum too, and I will hold it for a long time, because these two coins I am sure it will develop well, and the price will rise higher again.

In this one, you must not look on their dollar value if you want to change your BTC to ETH.
look at the btc value of every ETH. this will make you more fine in having your decision.
before almost or over 0.1 BTC per ETH, and now we are really down at less than 0.05BTC each.
This may will give you more hint on what to do.
Remember that everytime BTC goes up in dollar value ETh go up as well, as long as it maintains its bitcoin value.

very good your idea, but don't all of you exchange to ETH coin, leave it for bitcoin, because the prediction about the price increase is quite long, for this month only eth movement is still down.
bitcoin still remains the top coin in all markets.

Not trying to demean you in any sense but only people who are dumb enough will try to convert their BTC to ETH. Not considering the current performance, but overall performance of ETH is not even near to what BTC has shown as a potential so far in the market. So, I would definitely advise you to hold on to BTC if you have one right now.

Both  were not yet in good condition , though if we already have our savings in BTC it will be better to keep it on it since the market depends much in BTC, whenever BTC declines most of the time alts to which ETH is included.

Hi mate, this is a tough question, if you are going to analyze the situation, then you should do something to have an ETH too in your portfolio, and a lot of things to consider also, but if you have already a BTC, then you can partly convert some of it into an ETH, still today is the best time to buy an ETH because of the lowest price compared to previous months which are pretty high in value. ETH still be the best, regardless of the market situation nowadays.

If you need more precentage on profit, better you buy altcoin that under $1. As you can see doge right now, that coin already increase about 31% in 2 days. From my point of view, ethereum will more dump, so you can trade on other altcoin first, then get your ethereum on cheaper price.

since market is still in recovery stage, its better if you will stay holding your btc, if the price of btc will pump, the possible thing to happen in eth is to fall. but if you will decide to hold eth than btc, that is also fine, but you will wait a little longer for its price to pump.

Very true. Ether is at a very low price right now since the $ price of it has fallen down since BTC has gone down and the BTC price of ETH has also gone down which has tremendously decreased the overall price of ether. Exchanging BTC to ETH would be a wise option now since ether is down and if the price rises then the overall % gain will be much higher in ETH than in BTC. Keeping a smaller portion in BTC exchange the rest for ETH.

First of all, it is better if you buy the coins using real money. Converting the coins definitely spoils the balance of the market. Now, coming to the topic, don't think of going for ETH when you can have BTC. There is no chance of ETH ever reaching the popularity or performance of BTC in any sense.

Yes, I think it's better to convert your bitcoin to ethereum. I believed that when alt season come, you will have a better return of investment in eth than staying in bitcoin. I suggest that you don't convert your btc to eth in a single transaction, but divide your btc into many parts and convert in an interval of times.

It depends on your preference and gut feeling. Some people really like bitcoin as this is the pioneer of all the digital currencies while some prefer ether like me because with it's low price now, the possibility of it reaching it's ATH or maybe just a little under is very possible. But we don't also know that eth will dip more as there are more competitors of it's platform.

Obviously it will pump again one day because the market is based on demand and supply, that is the reason why you should always invest while the market prices are still dropping.

The price of Ethereum is always depend on bitcoin. So whenever the price of bitcoin increase,it will reflect in the price of Ethereum too.So you have two good options, one is hold your bitcoin as it's till the price of bitcoin reaches maximum.Second option is you can convert your bitcoin into Ethereum and hold your coins, till the price of Ethereum reaches maximum.

When there is price increase, the rate of BTC increase is faster than ETH. I also observe that when market is dropping, ETH drops faster than BTC. IMO, it is better to change to BTC, but I personally like ETH over BTC.

Honestly, I like eth transaction fee and fast confirmation, but my vote goes to Bitcoin, being the first and real decentralized cryptocurrency if Bitcoin faces some issues we can fix it and still comes out the best cryptocurrency in the market, and of course, the trust rating is very much compared to Ethereum.

Potential and growth in alts is much greater than that of bitcoin, so you can safely reinvest in more coins of the ETH. Just keep in mind that the corrections are more massive.

Yes I also think same as you but what if ETH couldn't rise like last year ? According to analyst BTC will touch $30,000 if legendary pump arrives. I think it's better not to convert all of your BTC into ETH. I think better is you should convert half of your BTC into ETH if you have strong feeling that ETH will rise that high again. In the end, I would say nothing can't be said so certainly.

You can have both currencies. Proposes 60% BTC and 40% ETH (especially that it is in a good position to buy ETH).
If BTC starts to grow at the moment, ETH will stand still (because people are afraid to invest).
However, with the BTC correction, the ETH will start to grow. So in my opinion BTC will bring as a first profit.

I just want to tell you that currently there are already 17,243,687 bitcoins in the circulation meaning that still remain 3,756,313 bitcoins that will be mined since there are only 21 Million bitcoins in this world, and in the future people will hard to own even a single one because the amount of available bitcoin will decrease over the years and this is called as deflation. What I'm trying to point out before you buy the altcoin make sure that you already have some bitcoins it will be good if you have a whole one since probably bitcoin's price will be skyrocket.

I think the market is always bound by bitcoin, so when bitcoin experiences a drastic decline it will greatly affect the altcoin turnaround. that is what happens when ethereum goes deeper. I believe ethereum always has a good chance and will have a high price again. it's just that this is a matter of time, you can hold etheruem or buy it right now to hold it long.

It is really hard to tell which one of them to use, I think the smartest thing is to have both (like 50/50).
They both rise and drop simultaneously.
When bitcoin drops by 5%, Eth does the same. Usually, the difference is not important.

Not a good idea to trade your Bitcoin for Ethereum but it is still your decision to make. Crypto Currency Market is experiencing a dramatic decline on almost all price value of their coins, but we know for a fact that market correct itself after the market down stream. try to hold on..the KEY at this point is PATIENT.

Bitcoin to ETH well

Stay hold your bitcoin don't exchange it into ethereum both are same potential gives profits in the right time,  as we can see bitcoin goes stay better signals in th coinmarketcap and after the king goes pump at followers coin goes follows to their king

my opinion should be to keep your bitcoin because this year the price of bitcoin will be able to return to its highest peak, if you want to invest in ethereum it's better to buy it with just another capital.

basically both are potential for growth and continue to increase their prices, although one day there will be a huge pump on ethereum because it has dumped more but both will be able to provide huge profits.

In my opinion investing in both may give you profits in the long run if you're just merely looking at pumps then you might also stuck in dumps. So the best thing to do is invest on to both Bitcoin and ethereum and hold it for 2-3 years. It might sound crazy but profits don't come just in days if you're not a trader.

I'm confused. You said that Eth drops harder than btc (which I agree somehow based on the recent change percentage in CMC) and yet you still plan to convert your btc to eth. The ideas contradict to each other.

Or it's just like you will sell your btc now and buy even more eth since its cheaper this time and you will sell in due time with your expectation that eth will have a higher increase percentage than btc? If yes then I am not sure if your plan will work. The market is hard to predict, maybe you're right that "eth dumps harder and pumps harder" but it could be also "btc drops a little bit but pumps greater" or vice versa. Nobody knows exactly what will happen :).

That's a pretty good idea. I was thinking the same the other day.
ETH still can go lower, but sooner or later we should see a bigger increase in % for ETH than in BTC. Maybe once the updates for ETH network will go live. Thus, I think such an idea does have some logic in it. Personally, I would not convert all BTC to ETH, but some portion I am likely to do.

I have made a computation before that during the all time high, if you got more ETH you're more profitable than a person that has an average bitcoin.

But when we are in the bear market, its more profitable to have bitcoin than to have ETH. Why not just buy ETH with your free money so you won't be able to move any single satoshi's you have?

It is logical, what you are writing, in case of a bull market, I have no doubt Eth will overperform Bitcoin. It has more room to grow now for sure. But in the same time, we have no idea when this bull market will come, and what will happen until than. There are sometimes just bigger drops in the market, than what we could imagine.

It would be better if you continue to hold Bitcoin Bro, because all the altcoins in the crypto world follow the Bitcoin price movement, but it all depends on each of us in investing.

The index of dominance of bitcoin this week has updated a maximum of 2018. At present, this indicator is already 57.8%, although only yesterday it was 56.3%.

You are right, if the market will start to recover, Eth will probably do even better than Bitcoin. It is just quite uncertain, when it will happen.

Bitcoin is always king, even if ETH has potential, it can only rank second, and with the increase of competitors, the location of Ethereum may change!

potentially, ETH fell more in price than bitcoin and therefore has a greater potential for growth...but I think the main growth will begin precisely with Bikin and only then will rise basic coin.

If you exchanged your BTC to ETH what will be your situation now?

You're in lost. Don't convert your bitcoin to any altcoin though this is my opinion, its going to depend on your choice of crypto's.

Don't do it. BTC has a limited circulation = 21M of bitcoins. While the ETH in circulation is growing every 15 sec (up to 18M new eth every year) = 10-17% inflation rate during next 5-7 years. So what do you want to have smth limited or smth that is not? I will not be surprised to see ETH for 13 USD at the end of this year.

Ethereum is one of the best cryptocurrency whose future as an existing smart contract transaction is great but exchanging ethereum to bitcoin is  something I can regard as a mistake in this current market fluctuations because even if ethereum increases later in the market bitcoin will also increase tremendously, so I will suggest that you can exchange little of your bitcoin to ethereum in order to make ethereum alive but I will prefer 40% of your bitcoin to ethereum and keep the 60% of bitcoin.

If you want to exchange Bitcoin to Ethereum, that is your right. But why don't you think that Bitcoin is still the direction of all altcoins? In my opinion, staying in bitcoin will be the right step for you.

Bitcoin for sure my friend, just look at the market situation in last 6 months, ethereum lost too much and a lot of people do not support eth anymore, also look at btc capitalization 57% of market right now. Do you have any questions?

Ethereum is a great cryptocurrency that has a huge potential. I think you should think about trading some bitcoin for it. But do not change everything as it is likely to be a failure decision, which you will regret much later.

I believe that investing in bitcoin is the most reliable and profitable business. Because he has been on the market for a long time and he's already proven.

If saw an increase and it may just be the result then it could be increased ethereum better than what exists in the bitcoin. need a large capital to be able to get the results of this and sometimes bitcoin make investors simply are not interested with the price is already high. But if the ethereum certainly tend to be low and even its development could be better than a bitcoin.

I also think that it is necessary to maintain bitcoin because it is the most reliable and stable. It's not a fact that the ethereum will die after a while and bitcoin will live forever.

The cryptocurrency market is very unstable and I think that you will not succeed as quickly and easily as you think. I am sure that Ethereum will grow, but also I am sure that there is no sense to change the two coolest cryptocurrencies for each other. Leave everything as it is and do not suffer

I transferred all the savings from Bitcoin to Ethereum and understood that I in vain made it. Now Ethereum costs little and the bitcoin found stability.

If you ask which one is better I will say Bitcoin because Bitcoin more reliable and more potential , but if you say about to gain profit I think this is time to buy Ethereum and other Altcoin and hold until price increase .

I am sure of Ethereum because the value is so easy to double.
When I bought Ethereum at a price of 170 USD and then I sold it at a price of 200 USD, what results were already seen.

Bitcoin is a big value and is not good for the short term, if you have a lot of Bitcoin then it's better to trade Bitcoin.

Yeah, bitcoin is one of best coin that fluctuates higher prices than ethereum so it's not a good result if we quickly turn to ethereum. Bitcoin is the most wonderful in terms of gaining profits and it took many years to go beyond this pei
rice.

If you feel confident about ETH, you can exchange it to ETH just like me now, I feel confident for the future of ETH. But if you are not sure it is better to keep holding Bitcoin because bitcoin will be more stable

Bitcoin and ethereum are both have a great potential in the future, and I just want to say bitcoin is the most. You don't need to choose between bitcoin and ethereum, you should choose both in that  promising coins, invest in bitcoin and ethereum not only one.

Yes I have invested a lot into crypto over the years.
Right now, because of the recent crypto price surge, I'd say 90-95%% of my net worth is in crypto.
I am hardcore crypto. I am also going to be diversifying very soon because I know it's not good to have all my eggs in one basket like this.

if you already have an asset in btc, you better keep it in btc only. because from the data now ether is experiencing a very deep price decline.
only BTC can survive its price this month and is relatively stable.

As to pump, no other crypto that can give you a very good profit in just a matter of minutes because while other cryptos are pumping in chunk of dollars, bitcoin is pumping a whole number of dollars like 10x higher than other crypto pump.

Many people are thinking the same way but until now we can say that Bitcoin is a better choice than ETH. ETH has dropped a lot over time and it has been behind the Ripple on coinmarketcap.I receive that ETH is not atractive as in 2017.

It is very likely that by the end of 2018 marketcurrency will pump because there are too many numbers missing. Bitcoin and Ethereum are very prominent Kemrosotanya because they are the most famous quality. possible Ethereum has more potential for the long term than Bitcoin. please argue with you observe while in cryptocurrency which has so many surprises.

In the long run, I believe more in bitcoin. I think that after 1-2 years the top 20 coins to change. I think the best time of the Ethereum was in 2017 and he did everything possible, for what was created.

I think that Ethereum will very soon lose its position. EOS and Stellar can press him. ETH does not develop and will eventually lose popularity.
