That very same group of individuals decided to continue their research and work together, believing that certain variants of Monero (XMR) were failing to provide viable contributions to either the parent project, the fork, or any of the communities and contributors involved. Regardless, we found ourselves in a position where our team genuinely wanted to continue improving upon what had already been built, but also have the ability to investigate and introduce our own innovations while allowing the community to openly, freely, actively contribute to the project as well. With that being said, we would like to introduce Remix (RMX) as a currency and community we believe builds upon Monero (XMR) logically, philosophically, keeping true to core tenants and the general spirit of Monero while identifying, developing, and integrating improvements and optimizations that allows Remix to distinguish itself from Monero without disrupting it, or its community, by making slight modifications to XMR as a currency and simply relabeling and repackaging accordingly. Its not about i2p nor about onion obfuscation, its pure ring signatures thing which is the gimmick of ancient times. The node wasn't running, as documented in my earlier post about the invalid hash for blocks 0-255. Anyway, my attempt to use the key files generated on the Win7 box on the properly running Win10 node+cli wallet produced a weird result - the wallet opened, but showed a zero balance, and no transactions. Very strange. I had verified a mining tx using the block explorer when I first started mining, so I didn't think there was a problem at the pool end. Anyway, I recovered the wallet from the mnemonic seed on the Win10 box and that worked fine.
I don't know what the origin of these issues is, but it seems there's a real problem with running the tools on Win7 (or at least my Win7 - but I run other nodes and cli wallets on Win7 just fine). I known that there are several projects, which use cryptonight algorithm (forks from Cryptonight in order to be ASIC-resistant) implement Service Nodes on their networks.LOKI, and Saronite are one of case studies. There are probably more projects which I have not known. One of our biggest goals with Remix is to maintain community voice and complete decentralization. Masternodes can present a threat to decentralization, so they are not on the roadmap at this time.
