Title: [WANTED] BitCoinTalk HTML Ad Design
Post by: Vortuarackne on March 03, 2014, 08:52:02 AM
Hi guys, I have won a slot to advertise on this forum and as such I am looking for a pretty quick turn around on this...

The ad will be used for PonziCoin.co (http://PonziCoin.co), it should;
  • Be bright and eye catching, without being annoying
  • Include site name and URL
  • Show the system is fully automated
  • Show how many BTCBTCBTC we have processed to date (currently 180BTC)
  • Show how many transactions we have completed to players (over 1000)

I am willing to pay 0.25 to get this done in the next few hours!

Please post a screenshot of your design here and I will chose the best one in the next few hours!

Here is the requirements (from theymos).

Quote
You can use HTML/CSS styling with some freedom. However:
- Ads must not contain images or JavaScript
- Ads must not contain forms
- Ads must not animate (no <blink> or <marquee>). Subtle CSS hover effects may be allowed, since other links on the forum do that.
- Ads must not load things from external sites.
- Ads must not be taller than 3 lines of default-styled text (as they appear on my browser, which is about 700px wide). This is around 42px.
- I will reject ads if I find them to be especially annoying

Do not send me ads that use BBCode: I don't want to translate BBcode into HTML/CSS. You should send me the HTML and CSS for the ads. HTML should be valid XHTML 1.0 transitional. CSS can be either inline with the HTML or separate and I'll put it in the <head>. Note that your ad's style may be affected by the board's default CSS, especially if you use inline CSS. Using <div> tags is not recommended unless you give them inline-block style.

Common mistakes when creating ads:
- It is invalid XHTML to put a <div> inside of an <a>.
- Your ads will be affected by the forum's CSS. Your ads will by default have text-align:center and font-size:90%; your links will have :hover{text-decoration:underline}; etc. Make sure you insert your ad into a downloaded version of https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo
to see whether it looks OK with the inherited styles.
- If your top-level element is a block element (<div>, <span style="display:block">, etc.), your ad will be preceded by a line break, making it too tall. Your top-level element should almost certainly be inline or inline-block.
- Special symbols, especially including & symbols in URLs, need to be converted into entities like &amp;.

To bypass Adblock Plus, you should:
- Use header CSS, not inline.
- Tell me that you want a randomized CSS class. You must use no more than 4 CSS classes.
- Tell me that you want the anti-ABP JavaScript link fix.
- Use only one <a> and no other tags if possible. If your ads get blocked because of matching done on something inside of your ad, you are responsible for noticing this and giving me new ad HTML. (However, note that I do not guarantee that ABP will be bypassed on my end.)

I appreciate Ponzis aren’t to everyone's taste, but this thread is for requesting a services, please dont turn it into anything else.

It looks fine, but even though I'm not your client I can tell you that it's not okay. Just read the brief - he describes everything very well. Wonder why that is so hard for some?

this is my idea for the ad.
http://frikicorp.com/ponzitest/
need to change the B for the BTC symbol
And can change the font to something else.

Its an interactive ad, should be still inside the guidelines since its not direct animation. Its all just done with hover effects.
I hope you like it.

Hey, thanks for the design. The idea is great, but nothing shows in Chrome and in Firefox the full URL doesn’t show in the left tab, the middle tab cuts off at "180B proc", and there is a space after 100% where I assume the word "Automated" should be in the right tab?

Is it just my browsers which are playing up?

Works for me in Chrome. Looks great but I'm not sure Theymos will be ok with that much animation.

I did test it in chrome, chromium, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
https://i.imgur.com/rnHcJe0.png

there is just a little bug where in some Internet explorers the hover doesn't trigger the animation.

edit: ohh, try disabling adblock? maybe its getting filtered because of the word "ad" that I used in my CSS classes

I just tested it with adblock. it removes everything in chrome. its because of the class names I can change them, just give me a minute.
edit: should work now
edit2: also fixed it to pixels instead of em

Oh! I know what's the problem, the font is not the same.
how about now? I specified the font to serif.

edit: and I just added it to the test template

Hey, unfortunately it's still not showing correctly for me. The middle panel cuts off in the middle of a word and the right panel text over-runs the length of the banner. I would be worried other users experience similar problems if this ad was used...

yeah it looks like it is a problem with the font.
(you can tell because the Z is different)
you can see other ads fine?

edit:
I just changed the font to georgia instead of serif.
Still doesn't work?
edit: also fixed it so it works in internet explorer too.
-----
I'll keep that in mind, serif font may be different in some computers...

edit2:
I have been looking for the font you are using and I just can't find one with a matching z

The current ad wouldnt pass the forums validation test;

Quote
...notice that the ad has empty space above and below it. This counts in the height calculation and will cause it to be too tall.

its smaller than the bitmixer ad.. but I can make it smaller.
right now it is exactly 45px height, 750px width and margin left and right automatic so that its on the center.
edit: oh I see, I have to make it 42, no problem just give me a minute.
edit2: done, height 42px now.

I think what Theymos was meaning was the whitespace between the bottom of the ad and "Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction. Advertise here." and likewise above the banner. The other banners have very little whitespace around them.

Compared to the BitMixer ad there seems to be quite a lot of whitespace?

ok, I was unsure about a span that was from a previous ad, it was conflicting. I fixed that and removed the <br> under the ad which I'm not sure if I can or not remove. could you ask if it is fine now?

Why you hate ponzi so much..! if someone is running a Ponzi doesn't mean he'she is a crook..! I guess you had a hard luck in ponzi's ...! I'm not a big fan of ponzi's either but don't bash them because i know they can work if spent wisely .

Yup, then again he was a ponzi owner, what did you expect? :)
None of them can be trusted, it's a scam scheme made by scammers to fool stupids.
These people have most likely never paid for anything they could steal in their entire life.
