A lot of scams have caused the fear of theft among people and they are regarding bitcoin and its trading a scam. People seem to be reluctant towards investing in bitcoins. How do we ensure them that bitcoins are not scam but the people are. :-\

Please come again. which 'people' are you referring to here, the people who invest in bitcoin or those who are accusing bitcoin as scam?

I am referring to the people who are accusing bitcoins to be scams and fake currencies. I have friends who invested their money in scam bitcoin wallets and lost them. Now they believe that bitcoin all and all are scams.

it needs to stabilise its price first and be recognise by a big SEC or something. So all the FUD this years has been giving sh**t to BTC will lose its power and then we can talk.
It's not difficult next step though. Like it's happening in Venezuela, merchants accept crypto because they do not trust anymore the official currency of the state, due to iper-inflaction and so could happen also in other countries too.
I see mass adoption in next months, but first something huge must happen.

It's really hard to encouraged other people to embracing and accepting bitcoin as a currency as of now especially to those people has lack of knowledge about this system and there are some people that has a brief knowledge about it but not believe and trusted it because of a lot of negative news spreading all over the world about it. However, if mostly people think and believe that bitcoin will be the possible alternative currncy to fiat money in the future maybe there's a chance that it will really accepting it by all of the people but probably it takes a long time for that.

For sure we need to encourage people and for that we need some strong government and strong organizations to be a part of it. Only then people can trust bitcoins.

In to the time that we live in currently it is not the people that we would want to have bitcoin and crypto currency first hand to accept immediately, it is the GOVERNMENT that needs to have bitcoin be recognized. We know how influential government is to each and every country and if they would be the one who can understand and learn bitcoin, chances of bitcoin being accept by people will be high rate. Though we cannot please everyone and we all know that, but government have the means of have an information be circulated to their respective country so with an effort to reach out people starting from the government with bitcoin benefits and information we can open the eyes of people about bitcoin and crypto currency.

I think it is very difficult to promote Bitcoin now, because its conversion method is very troublesome, children and the elderly can't even use the computer!

Well yes. But it will take time and we should hold on to it no matter what. We know bitcoins are the future but it will take time to prove it.

Yes, exactly. We need the governments to step in and take the charge. Governments need to accept the reality that bitcoin will be the currency of the new generation.

If you follow the news there is a lot of negativity surrounding crypto currency. A lot of exchanges that were hacked, people lost money, increased volatility etc. These "scare crows" are keeping people away from crypto currency. Not to mention that Google & Facebook are against crypto and this is influencing a lot of people world wide.

I think the best thing to do would be to increase the information about these, so people understand what's it all about and maybe try to regulate it.

This might be right, but when children can learn to use I phones, they can learn to use cryptos. It is just the mater of what we teach them. And as far as elderly are concerned, they do not know how to use google but google still exists and is accepted by all.

After giving more experience and how much we have take profit with bitcoin investment before, maybe I think many people want to accepted bitcoin not only for payment system but also could be investment for the future. They have think for increase money by make investment.

Well, when dealing with cryptos one just really has to be attentive. I don't think it's too hard to google top bitcoin wallets and exchanges, you know. It is also pretty easy to find out that bitcoin is not considered to be scam publicly. What can be an issue, though, is trying to promote the way of treating bitcoin as a currency. You see, most of people want to buy bitcoin to hold it till the better times and then sell it for fiat, as if it was some sort of an asset. Who actually pays with bitcoins without looking at its dollar price? Who pays directly with btc at all? When a coin is not being used to exchange for goods but it considered to be one of those goods itself, we are not moving toward fiat-free decentralized society.

This is a solid point of view that we really need to focus on. By treating bitcoins as only assets would no do justice for it. Bitcoins themselves hold value but people can not realize it as no major companies or organizations accept bitcoins in exchange of goods. If organizations start accepting bitcoins as a currency and exchange it for their products and services only then can people believe in the actual value of bitcoins.

I don't think you have any obligation to convince anyone that bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency is not a scam.

I think if you can buy something or exchange Bitcoin for Fiat money, this is the guarantee that it is not fraud. ::)

We don't need to force them to accept it, let the whole ecosystem learn the system of cryptocurrency. Anyways bitcoin dont want us but people needs bitcoin, so I think government will open up this kind of thing.

There is somewhat model that looks like bank, which is centralized, and its 100% need connectivity of internet in order to transact, and its incredibly fast. So, why would we use bitcoin to do transaction beside trading it?

Well bitcoins are not only limited to trading. Bit coins have functions beyond any limitations. Bitcoin is money not just an asset!

It is very hard to convence or encouraging people whom does not understand about bitcoin currency.for now some are believed that it was an scam kind of online thats why it depends to the people who wanted to.maybe they have fear too.

The thing is that people need to study any subject before dealing with it. The same applies to bitcoin. Crypto-currencies are afraid only of those people who know almost nothing (or very little about it). Yes this is a good point as well. We need to remove any negative thinking that they might have regarding bitcoins. We should educate them using facts and figures.

Banks are centralized mate but the bitcoin and most of the cryptocurrencies are really on decentralized cryptocurrencies only, so I want to find the bitcoin should be accepted as the decentralized marketplace with the payment widget means it will be work better.

We can state them what are our experienced with bitcoin. The positive experience in which you just need to be smart enough in choosing where to invest or what to use, because in bitcoin it is how you play. With this, the market stability maybe a problem but make sure that the analyst predictions are true and realistic.

I think that time will put everything in its place and only after a certain period of time it will be possible to understand whether we forced people to take massively bitcoin or not

It will be hard to convince people to join the crypto world especially if they already have presumptions that it is a scam. It is also because they do not understand how cryptocurrency really works that makes it hard for them to accept bitcoins as a global currency. There is not much that we can do except try to avoid and perhaps identify scammers and hackers and hope that the crypto world will be a bit better, less unpredictable and more secured so that more people will join in, right?

Scammers, hackers, robbers, thief are always there in every kind of business and we should always become careful and conscious and also use the best security system and that would be enough I think.

Well this is a great answer. We always have scams and thefts even with our fiat money, so we should understand and prioritize our money's security.

Although this is a good example but eventually when bitcoin will gain acceptance it will be less volatile. And not only bitcoins are volatile but all other currencies as well.

It's just a matter of patience and dedication to convince them what we believe in. We must do everything we can so that we will be able to make them accept our belief. In order for them to accept bitcoin we must first do something good. We must catch their attention so that their interest will be hook and we can convince them.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency which is meant for P2P transaction without any a third party interference. It is not for investment or for trading but purely for payment of services and goods. Go and have a look at Bitcoin whitepaper you will never see investment or trade there. Every evil that is attributed to the use of bit coin is a result of abuse by men and not from Bitcoin ideology. If we use bitcoin for what it is meant for  there will be no evil attached to bitcoin.

A lot of people are already accepting bitcoin as a currency. It is just not publicly being recognised yet. We got to push it more out by promoting and help marketing the advantages of using bitcoin for it to be fully accepted.

It is really going to be a hard target, because of if something scammy happen people rather use to judge bitcoin, but they forget those people who are standing behind the scammy scheme.
I think the root of the problem in the mass media sources, which announce a crash of a new crypto scheme scam. Usually they do not make a point that it's not bitcoin's fault, but people organized the scheme. But I really do not know how the problem could be solved.

we need to tell them every truth we know about bitcoin- Discuss the nature, advantages and the risks involved in bitcoin investment.

I think the best way to make people accept bitcoin is through the following ways;
1. Let them know the pros and cons of it and Especially the dangers and risks entangled.
2. Every one loves money, let them know it is money and how it can be made.
3. Make them understand that it is legal and not a scam as many people may think.

How can the so-called scam not belong to a centralized group or individual? People rush into bitcoin when they hear prices booming so they fail to do extensive research into what kind of wallet or exchanges they should deal with. If you're cautious there's almost no possibility of losing your bitcoin.

In order to convince people to accept bitcoin as a currency, I think the best way to make people to accept bitcoin as a currency is through the media. The media is the big influence in about 80% of the world population. Once the media shares positive news about bitcoin, people will accept it.

I think they should know that saving money at the bank even has the risk of being stolen, the point is being careful. you are right for 5 years I use crypto I have never experienced theft or scam, because I always secure my account and stay away from projects that smells of a scam..

There needs to be much better UI with cryptocurrency as a whole, non crypto users are so used to interfaces that offer ease of use.

Those people who see bitcoin as a scam are the ones who have no knowledge in cryptocurency.

Massive adoption is the number one key for it to become a currency. Another one is that people must have knowledge regarding to bitcoin. They must know that the company and the members are the ones who are scammers and not bitcoin itself.

It is hard to do this. It only happens when you encourage governments to accept bitcoin as legitimate. Because most people believe in government. The government agrees that everyone will accept bitcoin.

Its not easy to encourage people to accept bitcoin. Maybe they will accept it if they see the opportunities they can get from it. Tell them everything you know in bitcoin , share your knowledge so they have an idea if they want to invest in bitcoin.

We need to encourage them that bitcoin is not scam, we can show them some rich people who became successful because of bitcoin , and we can also show them our digital wallet that contains bitcoin. People can be encourage if you showed them a profit or a big amount of money.

Only time will be able to settle this issue once and for all. Look, everyone loves the American dollar (Continental euro, Chinese yuan, Japanese yen, etc), though you don't see people shouting at street corners that all these currencies are used for every illegal activity that has ever existed since the dawn of civilization (drugs, blackmail, bribery, slavery, child labor, human trafficking, just to name a few). So, essentially, it is a matter of awareness but you can't preach or ensure awareness as it can only come on its own in due course. It should be a natural process as only then the results will be authentic and long-term.


If Bitcoin has genuine value, preaching or raising awareness won't help much. If it doesn't, it won't help at all. Bitcoin is a currency, and as such its existence and features are beyond moral or ethical judgment and valuation. For example, you can't say that a currency is immoral or wicked. I have been difficult to pass through the cryptocurrency world. In fact, I spent a lot of time only analyzing the cryptocurrency price that contained my investment funds. Then my friend asked me;

That's how my friend asked, and I didn't answer it.

Yes many people don't know the true value of bitcoin. Scam projects and bad rumors make it more unappealing among the people. We need to spread the true functionalities and benefits of it and people’s success towards it. This will help them to accept it.

This is not the right information that people are not interested to adopt bitcoin for scams. Scams have given a negative impact on the overall market and people are worried about safety but people are confident about bitcoin and many countries are adopting this.

To make people accept bitcoin as a means of payment can only be done when there is proper education in what it is, why it exist and why they should adopt it. You can't force it on people but they will come for it when they are really aware that it is not scam or some get rich quick project.

no one can force a person to use bitcoin, everyone chooses their method of payment and in what currency to store the money, of course people are afraid to invest their money, as there are many scammers who cheat and then leave the market with the money. and people are left with nothing. as is the case with MMM

I do not seem this information right as many people are still in favor of adopting bitcoin and many countries governments are talking steps for the adoption of bitcoin. There can be a slow response but that is for limited period of time. This information is rumors in fact.

I think right now we must worry about the larger bodies and not individual people because I think the little people already are aware of the benefits of crypto but for the governments its a frightening thought so we need to come out with something that'll be appealing to them.

Yes definitely you have a point some people are afraid to invest on bitcoin because of fraudulent activities or we called scams, this may cause people and so discourage to try and start engaging in cryptocurrency world. It is hard for people to embrace the truth about bitcoin as a currency because its digitalized and it takes those that has knowledge about the system to comprehend,some people may think its a scam,it not true. People who think 'bitcoin is a scam' I think they are fools, they should be able to distinguish between the two modes in it, namely bitcoin and scamer. Even though this expression (that guns don't kill people) is true in a metaphysical or philosophical sense, in some countries guns are still prohibited from possession by people who have mental disorders or are otherwise disturbed, and some other countries  guns have been prohibited from possession by anyone who doesn't belong to police, armed forces, and their likes. My point is that while Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not to be blamed for things OP mentioned (scams) and even for things I mentioned (like slavery, drugs, etc), this may not stop the powers that be from banning crypto if they see that this ban can be effectively and efficiently enforced.

Moreover, I'm strongly inclined to think that the only real reason that prevents the majority of governments from direct attack on crypto is the fact they understand that they are unlikely to succeed, not that they don't want to.

Well no. We can never make someone accept bitcoins by force. We need to figure out the right way to do it. And there sure is a way!

Since you are trying to change the minds of people who have already identified Bitcoin as a scam so it will definitely be hard. But, if the number of population is educated then I think they will eventually understand the importance of Bitcoin rather than looking at the bad side of it.

I think this will definitely take some time. Cryptocurrency market has not developed fully and there are many unexploited flaws which makes it unsuitable to be used as a currency. There must be some standard against which cryptos should be valued. In short, we definitely need the help of government in making the cryptocurrencies to be used for making real time purchases.

Mass adoption is really needed for that. Right now, the number of people who understand Bitcoin and how it works is very low. So, it is hard to covey a message among the majority of the population. But, it will happen evetually and we need to be patient for that.

Whenever someone says anything bad about Bitcoin, I try to show them how the scams, criminal activities could have been carried out if fiat currency was used instead of Bitcoin. People are really blind about fiat and how robbers and hackers have been able to steal them even before Bitcoin was introduced. So, you need to change their perspective.

We need to make people see that bitcoin is safer to use now than in the past. We need take away all their  hesitation and wrong beliefs on bitcoin.

People around the world is not aware of the bitcoin. There are many who do not even know what the hell bitcoin is and what the usefulness of it is. If this awareness is spread all around the world then people can accept bitcoin as currency.

I think the scammers are the people who are greedy that who wants to have a lot of bitcoins. Please bear in mind that you should not entrust your investment to anyone and make sure you are personally manages your investments  if you do not want to be scammed.

First of all, I think we need to get state regulation. When bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies get state support people will stop being afraid to invest.

I think the main reason why a shop doesnt want to accept bitcoin is its violatility... a currency that can go 20% up or down a day is not a good payment method for them, but on the other hand the more people accept bitcoin the less volatile it will become as the market will groß and the supply and demand wont be seasonal... but this is only theory. On the other hand most small shop users dont know how to do handle bitcoins so there should be a payment gateway for them to easily accept bitcoins which are converted in the actually market price to whatever currency and that goes to his bank account... an easy solution is always a way to go for mass adoption.

There are some security issues regarding bitcoin which are creating a fear in the mind of users and they are back stepping to use bitcoin. The security issues regarding wallets containing the coins have seen many times and investors came to the roads by vicious activities by hackers. This issue must be solved.

There are a lot of ways to show the people that Bitcoin is not a scam. I tried it before. I showed my proof of earning from Bitcoin to my friends and family. some of them believed. but, some of them told me that Bitcoin was just a scam. that's why I learned that we can't force people to believe us whether you show them proof or not. and maybe they had their own reasons why they don't want to get involved with cryptocurrency.

If people in general get the more positive impression about BTC instead of getting discouraged by FUD and scams then it is possible for BTC to be extendedly accepted by people worldwide.

That's true though the issue with volatility can be easily resolved by using payment processors (which are the same gateways you mentioned yourself). These are like Visa or MasterCard (which are also payment processors only for fiat transactions), and they process a lot of cryptotransactions at a time which allows them to effectively hedge against volatility bursts using liquidity providers (large exchanges like Bitfinex). It goes without saying that lower volatility itself would remove a lot of issues and unnecessary processes from the equation, and we seem to be if not quite there yet but at least already on the right track there with volatility of main cryptocurrencies visibly going down lately.

What I do is just educating them by sharing good reads about Blockchain tech and Cryptocurrencies. Because of those people who accused bitcoin that it's a scam, because they were not able to succeed in their investment, due to lack of knowledge about cryptos. But you can give them some hints and a few ideas on how it really works and how to not get scammed in investing into any cryptocurrencies including bitcoin, that might help them to avoid of losing a lot of money.

I think we can help this matter with the most simple way, spreading the awareness to people. Details of the team members (KYC) and smart contract of the coin must be collected and thoroughly investigated in order to ascertain a good level of authenticity of the project before it is allowed to be posted on the forum or platform.

Always avoid a web that feels very suspicious especially to phishing. Your friend got phishing because he was so stupid.

No need to panic facing such a person. Just give evidence that bitcoin is not a scam. They lost their funds because of their own carelessness. In order to make people believe in bitcoin, it should have a paper which will be processed and debated publicly and legally. So that the people will know everything about it. The problem is bitcoin is not like that, it is decentralized which means it is not handled by any government agencies.

Every people have there own stand about cryptocurrency,some accept its as an alternate of fiat currency,while the other people threats this as a scam or fraud and we could not take away this from there mind,because of there past experience thats why people seem to be reluctant towards investing in bitcoin,so therefore we need a right probability to convience some people who dont believe crypto and turns back there faith again into digital system.

Maybe if we thought them when they were in school and as early as they were child for them to adopt on this and get use to it. We can convince them if we'd make a great effort out of it, I don't think that it would be easy though, convincing these people would be hard, especially if their minds are actually closed and would not even take a chance to know more about Bitcoin and the crypto, and therefor I do not know how we can possibly affect their perspectives and change it.

It is very simple. Just tell them that Bitcoin and fiat money is almost the same. It can use in good deeds  and it can also use in bad. If you use US dollar in illegal activities, is that mean that the dollar is bad?

We can't force people to believe in the bitcoin as currency, because reality itself is still a lot of people who consider bitcoin as merchandise traded in the market not as a currency used as means of payment. We can make them understand that bitcoin is not a scam by explaining to that 'people' (you're referring) about the unforrunate cases of using it like there are a lot of greedy people that actually scattered in here that the main objective was to get your money. In that way, they will conclude that it is actually a person who refered as the 'scam' and not the bitcoin itself. In addition to that, tell them that bitcoin is a mere cryptpcurrency and doesn't have enough capacity to scam you because it is not its factor and function.

Bitcoin legalized does not mean that BTC is currency.
In any case governments can accept it.

You can show them by their own example how useful crypto currencies are and how easy and convenient they are to use in everyday life.

Why should they do that when they don't know the advantages? Why should they do that while there is no problem in paying with fiat?
First, people should know the advantages of cryptocurrencies.

First of all, explain them the basics of BTC and how do ICOs, locals, exchanges etc work. Make them understand that scums are not based on the essential of BTC.

I think it is good to create a platform where people will be educating about bitcoin and how it works.let them to know the positive side of bitcoin not negative side. By so doing so many people from different countries will accept bitcoin.

As far as I'm concerned, people will accept bitcoin as a currency only if bitcoin is legalized all over the world. But i think it is really hard for bitcoin to be accepted because the government always try to ban bitcoin and cryptocurrency

I think that we should not force people to accept bitcoin. Each person is individual. He has his own understanding of what is good for him and what is bad for him. If he does not want to deal with cryptocurrencies and avoids them, then we have no right to force him to change his mind. The time will come and he will understand what is right and what is not. No need to impose anything on anyone.

In my opinion we need more possibilities to use bitcoin as a currency. For now we can mostly just to invest in or trade and a couple of points to utilize bitcoin as a currency. If we get more point of sale where we can use bitcoin it will become more and more accepted as a global currency.

When peoples accept bitcoin as a currency, that means bitcoin has already became a stable currency.
For now i think bitcoin price is stable in the market. Even there are many scams in the past, but that was not bitcoin. So peoples can trust on bitcoin.
