I don't believe it. Some bad occurrence is happened with ethereum but it does not mean ethereum is scam. Peoples are investing on this project and earn lots of profit from this project.

The Ethereum at its best even bitcoin ! Maybe he'll say that bitcoin is also a Scam ?! Let go digging in your mixer and will not go where he is not asked !

That Ethereum is a scam is grossly unsubstantiated and his opinion too. ETH has been funding ICOs for the some times now and doing that pretty well, except for the little beating it's price got few weeks which affected other alts.

That is his personal opinion and nothing we can do about that. Many have expressed their negative opinion before but Ethereum is still here.

Don't forget bitcoin isn't the one that distributed 70 million coins before launch in an ico.

Coming from Elon Musk, this does seem a bit surprising that he would make such a statement about ETH. This coin cannot be a scam simply because it took a huge fall. Let's hope that ETH is not a scam because this coin is the next best one after BTC.

This does seem a bit unbelievable that he thinks ETH to be a scam. Yes it is true that the coin has been facing but some tough times, but it is still a bit of a shocker to hear this coin as a scam. We do need reasons behind the statement that he made.

I don´t think this news are news at all, but in any case, Elon know about engineering and about earning public grants, but not about crypto.

There must be a reason why Elon Musk made this statement because this coin, ETH is not a scam coin and the coin is just going through some though times from which it will soon recover.

The Ethereum it's a good coin, though it did a very good job marketers. On the other hand, Tesla is also a good car and Elon Musk is as great marketer.

So let me get this straight.  Ethereum is a scam but that fake ass CGI bullshit car in space and upright landing rockets (even though the screed up the CGI and had them both landing on the same pad) is all Kosher.  I hope you guys know Musk is a snake and not one of the good guys. 

Well, we all have different perspective about ETH because for me this is a good coin.
I make money with ETH, so I don't think this is a scam. Technically, there are some problem with this technology but I know it will be improved in the future. Let's see this if Elon Musk is correct or not, there is no sure about this market anyway.

The more popular it becomes cryptocurrency, the louder the scream that this scam and it will soon die. Especially it is easy to see by the growth of the bitcoin price and the amount of news that bitcoin will burst  :D

This is one of the stupidest articles I've ever had the displeasure to read. I actually figured I'd have a long text, video or audio from Elon saying why he did not believe in ETH. But it was just the opposite. It's just a little comment he made related to Twitter's problems with Bots.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Ethereum. Only users making spam to generate some change and this irritated several personalities, including ELon. Title clickbait and unnecessary matter without any content.

somehow, ethereum has proven that he is not scam. he has brought smart contracts into the crypto world and many ico trust ethereum. i think that would not be if it was a scam.

If there's blockchains were a scam, don't you think they would have exited a long time ago? It's quite difficult to build something up to a level as high as it currently is whilst being a scam, since it requires the great majority user support. I really don't think that ETH is a scam, in that it is intentionally trying to defraud people of their money. It might be misrepresenting its current potential, but even that is probably due to ego rather than malice.

This guy is a total moron who cannot sell his cars for a profit and relies on the government to point a gun at threaten to rob me if I don't pay them all so he can have his factory and sell his BS car.  And people look up to this guy and think he is cool.

Wow, thats quite a big remark for such a used and well established coin. Would be massive if he was right though!

I still believe etherum is a good project and not a scam, because I see eth as a big project with a good concept with great technological advantages and can improve the financial world for the better in the future

Look I do not think that ETH is a scam and in fact I think it is a decent coin but ethereum is nowhere close to bitcoin, many people think that is the case but they are completely mistaken, ethereum has simply too many flaws that we cannot ignore anymore, the issue of the distribution of coins it is always brought up and that is because those that criticize ethereum for it are right.

Then we have the fact there is not a limit on the number of coins that are going to be created and if that was not enough we had the issue with the dao that caused the hard fork of ethereum, and for many people the reversal of the transactions that took place is a huge issue that is never going to disappear.

I don't see where exactly Elon said that ETH is a scam. "Even if it is a scam" doesn't mean that he believes it to be a scam rather it seems like a joke to me. Elon has been known for providing controversial and funny replies where he likes to add a pinch of salt. I see no harm in it.

How can we forget the possibility of a social media manager operating on his account and giving out the reply on behalf of Musk? Even if it is Musk himself, I don't see the reason behind the concern here. He is entitled to his own opinion and we don't really need to believe what he says.

It's not like whatever Elon Musk says become the golden rule for crypto community. He hasn't played any role in the betterment of this community which might give him the power to decide which coins are scams and which ones are true. Stop being concerned with whatever these celebs says, just stay strong with your own instincts.

Personally i am a fan of Elon Musk. But i can't be agree with him at this point. I don't Ethereum is a scam project. It is one of the established and trustworthy coin in the market from my view.

Well, Musk did rather weird by playing along when people lost money, trusting fake accounts, but he didn't say ethereum was a scam. He just said that he would want it even if it was a scam. Moreover, the tweet was deleted, so perhaps he changed his mind after seeing how people interpreted his words.
While eth itself is surely not a scam, the platform is still buggy and it made a lot of people lose their money one way or another. I turst eth in general, but I try not to keep any, because I lost some of it once on a scamming yet popular at that time ethereum-wallet.net.

As an Ethereum investor, I never think that ETH is scam, even though its price has decreased continuously. I am still waiting for profit and for the right time. Hopping for recovering the loss.

How can be Ethereum a scam project? Ethereum is the second largest coin of the coin market. So it will be very bad time for crypto world if Ethereum turns out to be a scam.

Then I think its probably good idea not to hold Ethereum, I mean its Elon Musk is not just some influential man but a genius with tons of connection. If he thinks that it is Scam, then it won't hurt believing him right? Though I myself, have been wandering for a while now, almost all altcoins has been using Ethereum for a long time, yet the value of it seems really low.

It may be his personal belief or he has been inspired from some blogs that's been written against of ETH.I also believe that a little amount of scams may happen with ETH but i can not fully say that it's scam.And i don't know abouts it's Giveaways.

The big scam is getting tax payers to bail out your failing businesses.  This guy really is a scumbag.  you know he is part of the insiders when he has the audacity to talk about scams while running Tesla which is nothing more than a scam as it robs from us tax payers. 

Even greater people than Elon Musk said not to trust anything that is in crypto space. Just look at how its creator, Vitalik Buterin is somehow warning every people that are in the hype/bandwagon. They would rather tell people to stay away than let people invest then cry about it if they have losses. So I think this is one of the great things about how many people are using the FUD to push down every other coin's price. DEAL WITH IT OR GOT WITH THE FLOW IS THE KEY.

Although I do not fully agree with your thoughts but in the cryptocurrency market anything can happen. I can still wait for the right time to know what happens, but I still have faith in Ethereum.

ETH is not a scam, at least no in the conventional meaning of the word. it is just a centralized shitcoin with a lot of money to spare in order to advertise and pump the  coin. there are also banks involved with it which are supplying some of that money as an investment and are making a lot of profit from it. they will eventually dump it and move on to the next thing as shit hits the fan and they can no longer prevent the crash.

Ethereum is a tool for launching ICO, As soon as a more advanced tool appears Ethereum will become unclaimed. Maybe that's what Musk meant.

Scammers just use Elon Musk name, they don't have any relation to Ethereum. Ethereum as coin can't be responsible for people like Elon, as it can't be held responsible for their promises. So no, Ethereum is not a scam.

The only reason I hate ethereum is the ease with which children can create a token. Its not a scam but a tool for scammers! Ethereum also has an inconsistent chain, transactions are prone to disappearing into thin air! Yes they do disappear, I have been a victim several times. Non of these "alt-chains" can replace the Bitcoin chain, because unlike bitcoin they have been tools for the wrong people with the wrong reasons for developing/using them.

Although any such phenomenon can happen in an unsustainable market like cryptocurrency but I believe there is no possibility of Etherium to be scam. So I am waiting for right time.

We often see negative comments on crypto from business and tech tycoons like Warren Buffet and now Elon Musk. It makes me doubt about the future of crypto. I hope they are wrong and crypto market will flourish

i don't think this is the legit thinking. crypto market didn't run on basis of any one thinking. i have the full trust on ethereum.

even though elon musk often right, hes probably wrong about that statement. i don't see any signs that ethereum is a scam. and if he is right, it is nevertheless one of the most used blockchains.

I do not think Ephirium is fraud. I keep my Ethereum until the recovery and the rise of the market. Ethereum has a very strong and responsible team.

Another FUD to add the discomfort on every Ethereum holders, this is totally a fake information, they think that with this kind of information, keepers will sell their ETH immediately, obviously, it is manipulated by the whales.

To be honest, I don't believe this. Because Ethereum is a good coin and a very potential coin for investment. Even though actually it is a marketer / who does very good marketing. But on the other hand, Tesla is also a really good car and Elon Musk is a great marketer. I really respect him.

I do not know what he was guided by, stating that ethereum is a fraud, however it seems that he does not understand cryptocurrency. I had a better opinion of him before that. Yes, a person can not be an expert in all areas, too much specific knowledge has accumulated humanity.

For me it doesn't matter what others say but it is what you think or believe of Ethereum, do you think Ethereum is a scam. I believe i is not a scam though the team easily got very carried away with their initial success which resulted into slow down in the development of their platform,what is left for the project now is to reach new height by scaling up their platform
