Title: Electrum: had to reinstall Google Authenticator on IPhone now can't transfer
Post by: Beepunkt. on September 01, 2018, 10:49:59 PM
Heyhey whats up,

I had the two-way-authentication activated in my Electrum wallet. After a reinstall of Google Authenticator i could not transfer anything from my wallet anymore. The Seed was lost a day before, too. Is it possible that anybody (support?) can retransfer my money to veriwox.com? It is just one ID with the money ;) ..

Thx!

Beepunkt.

AFAIK, their support dont have access to your balance or wallet, if you don't have seeds or backup key(when activating 2fa) then you can't access it.

But, you can ask their support and ask for help about 2fa.

You'd have to email TrustedCoin directly. Electrum does not hold any keys nor 2FA OTP for its users, they're just the developers. TrustedCoin could provide you with the key to your 2FA or help you sign your transaction but the chances of it aren't guaranteed.

The problem i experienced was similar to your problem,  the chance of getting back your fund is 99.9 % the only thing you can do is to wait for the response of the support.
On the other hand, i didn't know about 2fa authentication, if i was able to have that maybe i could have secured my fund.  Wait after weeks, if it become month(s) then forget about it.

You have very bad luck, no 2FA and lost seed - this is looks very bad for you. If you have seed it would be very easy to disable 2FA option because that seed is contains two master private keys from possible 3. Third key is located at TrustedCoin service.

You best chance is to try find your seed or to try to recover your Google Authenticator by using this steps : Common issues with 2-Step Verification (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185834?hl=en)

Or you can try to contact TrustedCoin :

As you've discovered, some users have had success with contacting TrustedCoin directly using the original Email address which the registered with. TrustedCoin will then resend a QR code that can be scanned setup the 2FA code in Google Authenticator App (or other GAuth compatible app).

Contact form for Trusted Coin is here: https://api.trustedcoin.com/#/contact-us

Send them a message using the original email address that you created the 2FA wallet with. They should be able to provide you with the initial Google Authenticator "secret key".

This time, I would suggest that you either write this key down somewhere safe and/or use a better authenticator app like Authy or Authenticator Plus (or whatever the iOS equivalent is).

The Seed was lost a day before, too.
You really need to implement better backup solutions. :P
