Title: Copying the mobile receiving address from you computer.
Post by: Don Pedro Dinero on September 02, 2018, 07:52:24 AM
Hi, I’ve just installed mycellium on my mobile and I have a doubt. When you transfer funds from your hardware wallet to mycellium, how to you copy the address? Do you type it in letter by letter and number by number?

I understand that when you want to transfer between mobiles it is easy, as you only have to scan.

My concern is if I mistype it, although I suppose it is very difficult that the mistyping matched a different address, in which case I suppose the transaction never goes out.

That's true. Just check the first and last 4 characters and it's pretty impossible to send it to the wrong address. And if you miss something, all it will do is say "invalid address".

You could also copy the address, send it to yourself via Telegram/Messenger/etc... and copy it in your computer (not the best solution if you are paranoid about your privacy)

I am using KDE Connect to connect my mobile and my linux. Both devices have to be on the same network.
With KDE Connect running your mobile and PC shares the same clipping board.

This means i can simply copy the address inside mycelium with my mobile and paste it inside linux.

That's by far not the best approach. But since im using it anyway to control my computer via my mobile at home, that's the easiest way (for me).

I take it as a personal challenge to manually type the address. It's a fine exercise in discipline and observation and you get a wee kick of achievement when you get it right. I should get out more.

Based on my own experience to copy your receiving address from your mycelium wallet you can click the QR code there is an option called "Shared Bitcoin Address" if your PC or laptop has Bluetooth device you can use the wifi direct and receive your bitcoin address to your PC or laptop.

You can also choose Gmail and save it to draft then open it from your laptop or PC. Since the Bitcoin address from mycelium is a public key the above post also works. Just choose any method what's easier to do for you.

I don't understand the question??!? ??? ???

Mycelium supports common hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger Nano S (using an OTG cable). You can have multiple "accounts" in Mycelium, so you can simply go into your default Mycelium "account", "copy" the receive address, then go to the hardware wallet "account" and paste the address.

Or are you talking about using the Hardware wallet from your PC? ???

He has a hardware wallet connected to his PC and a Mycelium wallet on his phone. He wants to send coins from his PC connected wallet to his mobile wallet address. The issue is how to put the address from his phone in his computer (the clipboard isn’t shared, so he needs to send it to the PC or write it manually).
