Title: The State of Maryland
Post by: wigglyuk on October 27, 2011, 02:40:32 PM
I know that there is one store in Maryland that accepts bitcoins :https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3521.0
but I'm wondering what else is out there in Maryland.

If we could list all the bitcoiners in Maryland, maybe we could accomplish something towards our common interest of bitcoin.

perhaps we could try to:

Create a bitcoin business.
Make a hackerspace related to bitcoin projects.
Create a Maryland coin (not really interested in this one just throwing ideas out there)
Find a location with free electricity to store our mining rigs.
Create cheap cpu mining rigs for TBX FBX, LTC, or SLC.
(then exchange them for bitcoins)
Build FGPA boards. (most interested in this one but I have no idea where to start)
Advertise bitcoins throughout maryland. (possibly get something on local news or radio)
Create a mass "solo mining" project (perhaps we could get local highschool's and college's computer labs involved)
Bitcoins produced would go towards other bitcoin projects (this way only the state of Maryland would benefit)
We could go to a local elementary school and teach children about bitcoin and make a mock bitcoin operation. (don't think this is practical, their parent would probably complain about teaching libertarian ideals to children)

You could assume this offer refers to people in D.C and Virginia as well.
