Title: Why are private and anonymous currencies rising so much in value?
Post by: vit05 on September 04, 2018, 04:07:44 AM
I'm noticing that many anonymous projects are going up in value today. Projects like Monero, Verge, Komodo, Zen. They grew a lot, with highlight to Bitcoin Dark that grew absurd 200%. It went from 17 dollars to over 80. Has there been any change in the prohibitions? Or would it be indicative of something strange that might occur?

BTW. BitocoinDark was swapped to Komodo. All of the team started working exclusively on Komodo.

I don't know if there has been changes in the prohibitions but there are some anonymous coins like PIVX that has been going down. I don't think that there will is something strange that may occur soon. If the value of the mentioned are increasing, only one thing that comes to my mind. It's either getting more investors because of a good news or there's an upcoming event for those coins.

Bitcoin Dark is getting pumped on Poloniex whilst the wallet is in maintenance mode

There doesn't appear to be any major announcements that can be attributed to this moderate price increase

Some private coins are rising and some not like Bitcoin Private, ZClassic or Shield. I think there is some corrections of some coins and some are having a pump. There is going to be a rebranding of Komodo apparently. I think for Komodo, it is a correction of its value. It didn't rise so much.

Monero has the news about applying bulletproof protocol and it dropped by a great deal in the last 2 months. I don't know about the other coins.
However, while a recovery for Monero was expected, I too believe it came too abruptly and it may be just a pump.

because btc is not anonymous at all,
and dont forget about DASH its being pumped before them
which dipped around 0,02 and rising about 50%
though this trend is actually following bitcoin up trend

I'm not sure it's because of news or rumours. It isn't always possible to attribute market movements to a particular reason. This is why it can be dangerous to buy a coin when it is rising - if you don't know why it is rising, then that means you also don't know when it will fall back.

If private and anonymous coin get their increase unlike other known coins that drops every now and then then this project has done a good job in advertising their own and continue to seek for new investors... The make plan that encourage other people to put their money on the project, maybe they just do it privately...

I know that there's some update on XVG lately that may have cause its price to spike, Verge [XVG] releases developer updates; Verge to Bitcoin Core version 0.13 rebasing completed (https://ambcrypto.com/verge-xvg-releases-developer-updates-verge-to-bitcoin-core-version-0-13-rebasing-completed/). And I can only speculate, that they really grow in the past couple of months because of this confirmation, Illegal Activity No Longer Dominant Use of Bitcoin: DEA Agent (https://news.bitcoin.com/illegal-activity-use-bitcoin-dea-agent/). So its possible that either criminals are shifting their Bitcoin stash to a more privacy coins, just saying.

Here, rather, the essence is not only that anonymous currencies are growing, but that privacy is one of the foundations of the crypto-currency industry, then everything depends on the product, if it is useful and works, why not increase the price?

This is just a price manipulation. Simply saying - a pump. So don't search any other reasons backing these fluctuations.

During next weeks will we see the huge downtrend on all altcoins including coins of anonymous projects.

I did not know too I just checked there prices now and also find out that most of them are actually increasing in pricing.  Maybe something is happening in the dark web that we don't know about and that is what is affecting there pricing.
