Title: Bitcoin stuck in temporary Armory wallet address
Post by: Ginger1972 on September 05, 2018, 01:46:28 AM
Hoping someone can help.  Transferred bitcoin from trading platform to Armory wallet using the temporary wallet address created previously within Armory.  Bitcoin has not made it in to my Armory wallet but is showing in the temporary wallet address at Bitref.  How do I retrieve the bitcoins?  Thanks for any help.

Is the wallet online and synchronized? Did you download, run Bitcoin Core and let it download the blockchain?

Hi TryNinja.  Yep, have updated Bitcoin Core and I believe Armory is online but I'm a deadset amature.  I had just assumed that the temporary wallet address expires?

There is no such thing as "temporary address", if it came from Armory's "receive bitcoins tab", that address belongs to your wallet.
If Bitref (a simple blockexplorer) displays that the address has balance, you have successfully received your bitcoins.

The problem is on your client's side.
Where did you get that client, from https://btcarmory.com/ (https://btcarmory.com/) or https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/ (https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/)?
The second one is an outdated source.

Which version of armory are you using ?  0.96.4 is the current version.
If you are using an older version, make a backup and update it to the latest one.

There are no 'temporary addresses'. Where did you get the address from ?
Most wallets generate a new address for each transaction. But your seed does recreate all private keys associated to your addresses from your wallet.

Did you check whether the transaction went trough on a block explorer (e.g. https://www.blockchain.com/ (https://www.blockchain.com/) ) ?

If you want to access your funds without fixing armory, you can always export the private keys and import them into a lightweight client (e.g. electrum).

What does it say in the bottom right hand corner of the Armory window? If it is "online", it will say "Connected" (in green) and display a number (That is the number of blocks that it has synced up to)... That number should be at least 540153 (current block height) or your Armory is not properly synced/connected with your Bitcoin Core.
