I was reading on some threads here and it made me wonder what will actually happen if the price of bitcoin continues to drop? And who will be affected more by this: bitcoin miners? Buyers? What do you think guys?

Of course it affects all especially those people who hold at the same time it also affects the buyers decision to buy because there is a lower price because it is a good chance to buy on dip.

What I dont really get here is that why those people who dont even have or plan to buy or even mine BTC are the most affected here in forum? post a lot of thread, news, etc. etc. while they dont even have.  ;D

It's a mix of everything. Bitcoin's price crashes, some people are going to panic and some people are going to be excited with the low prices. There's no way to know which kind of person is larger in number. As for miners though, bitcoin was designed in a way that it will work regardless of what price it's at(besides zero, though zero is pretty much impossible).

For me, I think bitcoin's price will not continue to fall. Because in 2019, it will recover again from it's big drop. But if it will happen, then many people will suffer especially the investors and holders of bitcoin. Some will lose money and others may not. But some say bitcoin will not continue to drop. It will rise again or bounce back next year.

Everyone bought bitcoins at a specific price point and each of these people have set their own "sell" price. The lower the price,

the more people will sell at the new "trigger" price and the lower the price will go. It quickly has a snowball affect, once more

trigger prices have been reached. Some of the less efficient miners will also shutdown their miners and temporarily stop with

all their mining. (You cannot keep mining, if you not making a profit)  ::)

judging from the current market movements, bitcoin has experienced a significant decline, but I am still optimistic that the price of bitcoin continues to fall because this is the biggest part of the world crypto is where bitcoin is down, surely bitcoin will rise again and this will happen in 2019

You don't understand the point here. The price cannot drop forever, someone will try to make the price go up, because if they don't,everyone who has bought bitcoin at any point will go into a big loss. Miners won't be the main crowd that'd get affected, the investors would be the main crowd obviously. If the price keeps going down, it would be implied that there's not enough demand for it, and the supply is more than the market demand. If there's no demand, the price won't fall,because no one will buy.

I guess you are right. I wonder how low the bitcoin price can go? I know the bitcoin price is already getting up and hopefully it will continue to do so but I just cannot help but wonder what if.

When it is drop i see big opportunity for other to jump in , in this way bitcoin is getting stronger and stronger every month, don't panic and keep you coin safe

Everyone who hold bitcoin will definitely the one who'll suffer, this what causes panic sellers. They were scared about getting nothing after investing so much money on it. On the other hand buyers will benifit from this as  the price goes down there were some who take advantage of it to buy btc so that they will be the one to hold it now, so when the time comes that btc price rise again they will be the one who will be lucky. I think this is how btc really works.

In my opinion if Bitcoin will continue to drop miners will feel it the most. Not even mentioning people who bought their first coins in December of 2017 because they will feel really bad.

I don't think that the continous fall of Bitcoin below 6k is even possible. There is an extreme support on this price level due to all miners for wich going lower would be a financial disaster.

How can miners support the price when they basically produce more coins driving supply up and they need fiat to pay for their electric bills?

Everyone will be affected including you and I. Even the bounty hunters too. The market need something to just boost it as soon as possible. The current price falls are just terrible.

This current bitcoin price drop is affected by news about a certain U.S. bank planning to trash the creation of crypyocurrency trading desk. Somehow or another, investors are influence negatively by this news. But, no matter what happens, bitcoin will surely recover.

When the prices of bitcoin is still continue to drop, then it means that people are started to leave bitcoin. When it happened then it will affect the miner absolutely, because they cannot pay their electricity for their rig. Also, the buyer will loss a lot of money that they have.

The fall and growth of bitcoin is its peculiarity. Bitcoin cannot have a fixed cost. Everyone has a different attitude to this. If the price of bitcoin will continue to fall then this will primarily affect large investors. They're losing a lot of money. But bitcoin is not reduced. As the price keeps on dropping, it will open opportunity for new investors to enter the market. The lower price will attract new investors and they will start investing. As they invest, the price will start going back up again and which will cause the current investors to keep on holding their investment. Once a desired level is reached, some of the investors will start selling off their coins and the price might start dropping again. This cycle will keep on continuing unless some sort of manipulation takes place which will cause some sort of anomaly in the market. 

The continuous drop in price of bitcoin will effect the whole crypto community in one way or the other.
Firstly it will effect all the BTC holders whether it be the miners or traders or holders. Secondly it will effect all the other cryptocurrency holders since the drop in BTC will create a bigger drop in the price of altcoins. Next it would effect all the projects and platforms related to cryptocurrency and most probably disrupt it's progress.

Yes, that's why it's kinda hard to predict. As weaker hands start fleeing, further causing the price to drop, there would be vultures going in for a killing and buying those coins for cheap.

I think if bitcoin prices continue to fall many investors will sell their bitcoin. And those who suffer the most damage are the investors they are hosting bitcoin. For me, being a multi-year investor with bitcoin, I'm sure I'm still investing in it because I believe that the near future, its value can reach the moon.

Thus making it almost impossible to have the price going worthless. And these vultures are the ones with enough assets to affect market movement to their advantage. So panic selling won't really do you much good here.

In the case of miners, their mining fee of bitcoin is less and mininig difficulty is less so they can mine bitcoin very effectively. I think if bitcoin continues to fall, it is likely that most miners and buyers will move to a more promising cryptocurrency, and bitcoin will simply become one of the average cryptocurrencies.

In my opinion serious companies and investors will take the situation in their hands and  try to make big changes. Maybe they will discuss the problem of regulation of cryptos with the governments of big countries

If Bitcoin continues to fall it means that in the market there are more sales than demand, some are happy with this situation, because they can buy Bitcoin at a low price, but when that happens it will affect miners absolutely, because they cannot pay their electricity for their rig. If bitcoin price continue to drop it Will affect to bitcoin popularity but I feel doubt if bitcoin price will go down for a long time because usually when the price go down people will buy more bitcoin because it's opportunity to gain profit and when people buy bitcoin it will make bitcoin price rising again.

No, I don't think bitcoin will last forever, but as long we have people hoarding it, it won't die, at least I don't think it will. Most of hodlers wouldn't sell for a loss, because they are adamant, but if the scenario forces them to, then the result would be totally different,probably will be the death of bitcoin, or near death. Don't confuse panic sellers with hodlers. Also, some traders would try influence the market volatility,and would rather get into a temporary loss, and help bitcoin recover,than let it die.

The scenario of no demand existing is more hypothetical than real. The demand will rise in the future eventually,mostly because of the price drop.

If Bitcoin starts to drop continuously then everybody will face the loss. And a long-term panic will happen, most of the new buyers, traders will sell their bitcoin. Bitcoin will lose the trust of 60% of people. The long holders can go in a panic if bitcoin continuously drops! And bitcoin can't grow again soon! Everywhere negativity will spread, lots of people will leave the crypto platform for forever! O can't think more  :'( I wish that won't happen ever.

I have never thought about this but to my mind, you need to keep coins for the long term and wait until the market becomes green. To my mind, it is better to take into account that btc will increase in price soon

If ever the bitcoin price continue to drop it would affects some aspect and people. One of those are the ones who hold for such a long time. Another one is the buyers of bitcoin because some of them might not have the urge to buy if they see that the value of it is dropping. People won't invest in something they aren't sure they can gain. Nevertheless, I believe that the bitcoin price will not drop continuously.

well to me, I see it as always the same buy and sell avenues where everyone can get compromised- miners, buyers and everyone. The fact is that Bitcoin controls the whole cryptoworld and so we can't deny that its fall drags the whole cryptospace along.

It will affect all of us but not the whales, they will just keep on buying more because they are the one who can see that there is a huge profit to be made when the market is in a difficult situation or in the bearish situation, this is where opportunity came for investors and traders.

If that happened that the price of bitcoin are continue to drop maybe many investor's are not interested to invest their money in bitcoin because they are always disappointed the price fluctuations. Imo both are equally affected if the price of Bitcoin suddenly goes down. No one would be affected more because each side had spent some $$ just to be involved with Bitcoin.

Probably not all who knows maybe they do own or mine BTC and doesn't want everyone to know their plans/involvement.  I don't mind these type of threads tbh they're better than FUD threads since they don't spread negative vibes in the forum.

If this will continue to happen people will keep and do panic selling especially new people. Some people will lose their interest to on it. But i believe that there are still people like me who will keep on believing that bitcoin can still recover soon. We only need to be patient and keep holding on.

Bitcoin drop in price affects everybody invested in cryptocurrencies, miner's are already stressed out, profitability is almost at its lowest, altcoins are toast in price, traders are have a hell of time making  profits, ICOs are finding it finding it difficult to hit soft caps, YouTubers are having less views, everyone is affected

Definitely is going to effect everyone hodl and mining at the moment. Personally I'm all about it dropping as it give me and other the opportunity to get in more before it takes off and it will as the tech is proven to be worth investing money and time into. Can't even count how many patents have been issued between all the big companies jumping on the blockchain wagon regardless if it's a public or private blockchain. It's here to stay so I'm not worried.

I agree.The current price may not be very good for us and if this will continue to happen,lot of investors will surely turn their backs on bitcoin.But i think it's just a matter of time,btc price will surely recover and may even give us a blast when its price reaches a new peak.

Don't worry too much with the price of Bitcoin. It's the standard market cycle, and that's it.

No manipulation or other conspiracy (outside of the ways all markets are manipulated by traders/investors). Looking at the charts everything seems pretty normal. Volatility is high as it should be in a market of it's size. Price trend is still bearish which isn't surprising considering the minuscule amount of hype and discussion of crypto in mainstream areas thus not much new money flowing into the crypto markets (definitely not enough to support a change of trend).

Some traders are still managing to make money, and most newbies are getting rekt as they do in these conditions.

The good news is progress is being made on the tech end. Now that money isn't the main focus of all crypto discussions the devs can get back to innovating. It looks like there are lots of crypto ATM businesses that are still expanding their atm networks which is great to see. It's nice that people aren't giving their money to shitty ICO projects and are being more cautious with their investments.

Nothing going on that's hype worthy nor many 'bullish' signs but it's all good

I think all those crypto holders will be affected of this event falling of bitcoin price since bitcoin has a huge volume that supports all cryptocurrency. When bitcoin continue to fall there are some investors take advantage to buy more and hold it again while others are afraid and starting to sell their cryptos especially Bitcoin. If you believe that bitcoin will survive it is not a problem and to worry instead relax yourself or try to find another ways to earn.

I think that would be the best thing to do by keeping yourself calm and relax.Yes all people here will be affected if the price continue to drop but i don't think it will happen for so long.Remember crypto is so much volatile that any time of the day the price may increase and hit a new high price again.

If the market price of bitcoin will continue to drop then there will be a massive downfall of almost all cryptocurrencies too and making the cryptocurrency market looks so bad. Bitcoin price is manipulative. So I think it won't happen that bitcoin price will continue to drop. Investors won't allow that. They are the ones controlling it. They are only making it down to attract more investors to buy more that may affect the demand and supply in the market.

I really don't know the direct correlation between the price of Bitcoin and the miners. But one thing I know is that if the price of Bitcoin become so low such that it is no longer attractive to invest in, everyone will surely be affected including the miners.

I was even more convinced of the predictions I had read. that bitcoin will continue to drop to the lowest value until the 3rd quarter and in the fourth quarter, the price of bitcoin will return at the pump. ie starting next month, and until the end of the year.

Indeed, we can not guess it because it is a crypto market that can not be guessing, whether it's going up or going down.If the market price of bitcoin continues to drop then there will be a massive collapse of almost all cryptocurrencies too and making the cryptocurrency market look so bad. BTC has dropped again at $6.2K and most likely will continue to drop but definitely it will have an impact to the altcoin where it could also have a significant drop. He's been buying and buying at ridiculous prices, when would the market change and he will sell to make profit, he can not continue to buy anyhow. Though I am hopeful that the price will recover by December but if in case the price continues to fall, the investors and those who are holding it for a long time will be affected the most. SOme may sell their coin out of panic and some will buy it getting the low price. But I believe the price will go up soon.

I don’t think the price of bitcoin will down more than current price. Though we can not assure anyone when will the market rises up but I think that. Don’t know actually what will happen next if the price goes more down.

If bitcoin continue to drop I think it is normal and the next it will rise. Actually they said that in the past butcoin price drops to 0 so I do nit feel scared now becayse it will still rise after tge drop.

If the bitcoin will continue to drop the price in the market then I guess most of the user of it will started to feel bad about the situation of the bitcoin. for me bitcoin continues to decline because the price decline has not stabilized. So there is no problem for all of us. Just with the price is very low there might be someone asking why with the price of other btc / altcoin also low.

Market cap calculations arent really representative of the value of all the btc that exists. That is to say, it was never really worth 800bn, it just got that way because of the hype train. We are closer to real value now.

There are some people who joined crypto for making profit from trading and there are large portion of people which are looking for price drop of crypto so that they can enter into the crypto world by buy crypto at low cost like today's ETH is on the lowest price near about 189 USD and Bitcoin around 6200 USD. people prefer come into the crypto to keep in mind that coins will rise very soon.

I also think that too low the price can not fall. I can not imagine this situation. That will not happen. And now we need to buy as much as possible bitcoins

I will say all but miner will surely gain it in the long run and those that buy at dip will also gain ,while the sell might be one of those that aim to sell now and buy low again or another who is panic to sell now to cut his loss and might miss out in the time of bull cos the panic of it going more dip won't let them get in but those that understand will just be happy to buy more and more reason I believe miner will never loss cos they understand how this is being run.

There are no big consequences if the price of bitcoin continues to fall. I think the price of bitcoin just dropped to a low of $ 6000. After reaching this price, bitcoin will begin to recover again.

 All you mentioned above is the one who will be affected if that times happen . But probably it's just a normal scenario for them and it was not a big deal, because actually it's  always happened especially when there's a negative news.  and indeed there's still more investors that keep buying when the price become cheap which can cause market growth rate recovery . Of course, everyone will be affected, I'm holding some bitcoin and decided to hold it till the end of the year. I am really worried if Bitcoin prices continue to fall, the market is now unpredictable. Hope that bitcoin will increase again.

The fall of the price of bitcoin will not affect miners that much but newbies who invest into bitcoin without understanding how the bitcoin  will be the people who are affected the most. The price of bitcoin was meant to drop throughout 2018.  

I think this drop will continue till the end of this year. Maybe it will continue until to mid of 2019 because the downtrend is strong. However, If the Bitcoin price continues to drop, it means all altcoin prices go down. The best example is the ETH. ETH price going very low. Now it is between 250$ - 200$. If the bitcoin down-trend will continue to end of this year, definitely, ETH price dropping to below 100$. However, I believe soon day, Bitcoin will rise up again.

it actually depends because everyone strategy are different. some are happy if the price drops because they can buy btc at low price. mainly the people who create panic and sell their coin instantly in thinking of high loss, they are mainly suffer.
