Title: An interesting article for those who care about the fate of the Ethereum.
Post by: doroshok1 on September 07, 2018, 02:41:57 PM
The situation on the market with Ethereum (ETH)
After the collapse of the market and reaching an unprecedented "bottom" of about$ 6000, Bitcoin has found the strength to double the mark 11 500$. Then he again did not find proper support, and the price fell. During all these shocks, altcoins were unable to survive, many tokens lost more BTC in percentage terms, failing to recover after that. The air was one of those coins.

In early February, the ETH/BTC price ratio was an incredible 0.12. By the beginning of March, this figure was already 0.08, and at the moment-a little more than 0.06. It turns out that in two months the ether depreciated twice in relation to Bitcoin. And although Bitcoin fell from $ 11,700 to

7 $ 400 (a decline of 36%), ether fell from $ 870 to $ 460 (depreciated by 47%).

The accelerated" free fall " of Ethereum has puzzled many investors. After all, it used to be that the ether is to some extent even more promising than Bitcoin, with its smart contracts and higher network bandwidth. Unlike many blockchain projects, Ether developers have a well-defined Roadmap and they are trying to move consistently along it. Plasma Protocol will be released soon, and Misago is rumored to be the first of the plasma chidchanok (side or external circuit). Technical characteristics phase 1. Casper has updated the Protocol Proof of Stake Ether, is also in development.

Dynamics of the rate of ETH relative to BTC over the past three months
In addition to a solid roadmap for the development of the Protocol, the Ethereum project has the most powerful ecosystem among all crypto-currencies. For example, ConsenSys is a large company, created to support the growing ecosystem of Ethereum. Consensys manages a significant portfolio of companies that develop projects based on the Ethereum ecosystem. The portfolio includes projects such as Gnosis, Airswap, Infura, grid + and Metamask. In addition to ConsenSys, there are many other high quality start-UPS built on Ethereum: 0x MakerDAO, Haven, dydx, Augur and Dharma.

So why does the air keep falling?
The main reason, in my opinion, is the incredible greed that showed its terrible face in 2017. Tons of ICO, games and fraudulent projects have been created on the Ethereum platform. Many sought to participate in them, hoping for a quick profit. Various ICOS, such as Filecoin, Tezos and EOS, have raised hundreds of millions of dollars on air. And the EOS ICO still goes on when you read this article. Greed has also attracted people to participate in questionable games such as crypto currencies and crypto-currencies. These " games "were built in the same way as the Ponzi scheme, and yet people" invested " thousands of tokens in them. And finally, greed has forced people to participate in a Frank and outrageous scams, such as EtherTanks, PonziCoin, and Proof of Weak Hands Coin.

What do you think all these projects will do after attracting such a huge amount of ether from greedy investors, when the market starts to fall? They go even harder!

For example, there is undeniable evidence that EOS — ICO, which has collected more than 400,000 ETH — now throws these tokens to the market. More than 163,000 ETH were sent from the EOS crowdsale Wallet to the Bitfinex wallet, of which 50,000 were moved in the last 12 hours (March 18). It remains unclear why the Ethereum community has not abandoned the EOS. The EOS project is like a leech in the Ethereum ecosystem, which attracts ETH tokens to Fund its activities by providing a platform to replace the ether. Investors of the ether thinking this is acceptable? In fact, EOS co-founder Dan Larimer has openly criticized Vitalik Buterin in the past for Ethereum's effectiveness. Obviously, Larimer doesn't like the aether.

And now that he has 400,000 + ETH on his hands, what do you think he will do? HODL to make Ethereum investors happy?

We need to move on.
I think it's now clear to everyone that the Ethereum community should take a hard line and abandon any ICOS that are trying to raise capital with Ether. Best asset to raise capital are all sorts of stable coins (stablecoins), such as Dai, and the community should actively encourage the use of such assets in any new ICO. If the majority of ICO raised capital in a stable coin, we would not be in a situation where the price of air depends on the actions of so many sleeping whales.

The community should also actively identify fraudulent projects on the platform. From representatives like EtherTanks and proof of weak hand coins, one should immediately claim and put an end to them. Not only are they inherently harmful to the platform, as they deprive investors of honestly earned ETH tokens, so they are also harmful in the long run, as then scammers sell stolen ETH in the market.

Ethereum will survive, it is without a doubt a strong development team, the strongest plan and the strongest ecosystem of all other cryptocurrencies. For someone who really understood what people are creating on Ethereum, one fact is obvious: if cryptocurrencies do not disappear in principle as an asset class, Ether will flourish.

Since 2009 by bitcoin, the market started. Since then other currency like eth has also mark their name. It has a bright future and it will not disappear for simple reasons. Besides ethereum, there are other alternative currencies are also available in the market.

There has been some market crash happening from past years, but still ethereum and other cryptocurrencies doesn’t vanish. Yet some of them has the value, some doesn’t. they’re trying to solve this problems. And this market is still going. So it will survive.

but this time it looks so different consider a lot of people are changing their portfolios to the USDT to secure their Money. if there will be a huge jump and this will attract them all to buy and more altcoin again.
Maybe this just temporary but this is enough to give a lot of impact to the investors about the crypto currency.

The majority of the downdraft that ETH is experiencing is because of shorts and not selling by ICO's. ICO's hold only 3.7% of the ETH (3,744,651 ETH) https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/09/11/icos-mountains-treasury-diar/ (https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/09/11/icos-mountains-treasury-diar/) and have not been selling any more than usual. Short interest however has gone through the roof.

Many have notice that ETH falls faster than BTC have taken to using BTC as collateral to sell ETH short. Eventually investors will run out of ETH to borrow or ETH long investors will start moving their ETH off exchanges where they can be lent to shorts and this will cause a reversal. Expect a steep jump in ETH and a fall in Bitcoin as people try to cover their shorts.

ethereum and other cryptocurrencies will survive. As there are almost 1,500 cryptocurrencies out there besides bitcoin and eth and most of them are giving long term service. Though ethereum is a good one in market and the future is very bright.

Where have you heard that there are many people selling into USDT? I haven't heard of this, I've actually heard quite the opposite. Many investors don't want to touch anything to do with USDT. It is far too sketchy, and there is no concrete proof that the "evidence" tether provided for the USD backing USDT is actually money for USDT. Also, the fact that no audit has successfully been done is especially damning.

I don't think that there are a lot of people holding USDT currently. I'm sure there are some, but if you hold USDT I strongly advise using a different stable coin or better, just hold Bitcoin.

Ethereum is a great coin for invest but in recent time their market condition is not in a good position. That’s why people are afraid to invest on this project. I believe ethereum will overcome this situation.

It will survive due to it's strong development.

Trying to time the bottom is a foolish game, I would buy a good amount now and save some money incase the prices dips any further.  PErsonally I think its impossible for it to reach 100 dollars.

This market will spring back guys. This is a grand show to separate you from your money.  If you believe in a project and believe there is utility to the coin and that people will purchase it get more of it at these depressed prices.  If the coin is shit then you either roll the dice and hope it pops when the market picks up or dump it for a better coin.

It is a really shameful situation with all this ETH ICOs. A lot of them are born dead or scams. ETH is being used in a bad way. I think we have to wait and not take part in all this mess with doubtful ICOs and other stuff.

So because people are expecting ETH to go down by opening short positions, it has made this prediction come true by crashing the price of the market. I guess margin trading has had more of an affect on the market than people probably thought it would. Hopefully people stop filling these shorts so we can finally see some longs opened up.

Ethereum is down because of what makes it extremely successful in the first place, the concern I have now is that Ethereum has many competitor and developers preferred to use it for ICO then because BTC network was slow and I believe they must have regretted their actions now because assuming they hedge part of their funds in BTC they would more money to spend now

very good analysis, even I say market condition not support any idea to make ethereum rise up again. You can take any opinion you like but this is reality about ethereum, many people already leave it and only use to send - received payment when bitcoin network has trouble, no trade/ invest activity in there. Ethereum will survive with their own way, just leave crypto market for now and come back again next year.

Ethereum is down because of what makes it extremely successful in the first place, the concern I have now is that Ethereum has many competitor and developers preferred to use it for ICO then because BTC network was slow and I believe they must have regretted their actions now because assuming they hedge part of their funds in BTC they would more money to spend now
The competitions between those new ambitious project are also affecting the value of ETH, there's coins who do offer platform for ico's and the intention
is really to compete and to gain investors and developers attentions, but as we knew ETH, after gaining lots of supporters and most of the ico's chances
to recover back and make it much higher from the last rise is still possible.
