Title: A 9 bitcoin coin (apparently)
Post by: jackg on September 07, 2018, 05:53:08 PM
https://yobit.net/en/trade/YOTRA/BTC

I was looking at this market specifically and it looks like it's gone from being worth literally 0 satoshi to being worth 9BTC (900000000 satoshi) that's an infinte percentage increase and I'm wondering what the point of doing this would be and who'd have the money to do it.

They look like fake transactions designed to pump the price. Nothing jumps that much without some startling news.
Even Algy Cluff's oil exploration company didn't do that. Algy Cluff looked for oil fields, and his shares drifted around for a while. Then he would find a rich field, and he would negotiate a massive sale of his find to one of the major oil companies. The shares would rocket up while everybody took profits, and then they would slip until he found the next field.

I don't like clicking on the links, but if it was worth literally 0, than that answers your question on who has the money to do it.
Literally everyone.

You just need to buy all the coins for 0 and offer to sell them not bellow 9 BTC each.

0 means there's no interest. You can't buy or sell coins on exchanges for zero.

I can honestly say I have no idea what you mean...

The link's yobit, what's your problem with them?

Well if there is no interest and they are worth zero. You could buy it from someone in person (if exchanges prohibit trading for 0) and simply sell it for whatever price you want. As long as you can acquire large sums of it, you can manipulate the price to whatever you want.

PS: I don't click on any links I don't have to. I wouldn't click on a facebook link if you posted it.

YOTRA sounds like something concocted by Yobit itself so they can probably manipulate it any way they want. Not the first scam they're running, not to mention all the other scams they're listing.

That's actually what I thought after making this since it has the "Yo" at the start...

They were also charging 0.0017BTC to withdraw bitcoins a few days ago (it was cheaper for me to take them out as litecoins and sell them elsewhere)...

Certainly! If you didn't notice, there's a YOTRA link in Yobit site's header:

Get bonuses in YotraCoin for every trade on BTC pairs. You can also get 1% daily for YOTRA in InvestBox.
If you are someone's referral, then you will receive only 50% of the bonuses.

And it has been there since July (as announced on twitter):

Yeah percentage of loss isn't really my thing, percentage compared to gains it much easier to work out.

Volume is more important than price.
