Please, if you're mining SC, be fully aware that it's officially just a game.

its not hard to see these guys are all a mess. at this point I don't think it's even necessary for the 'trolls' to continue, they're making a bad name for themselves, no help needed.

Was this part of the "power block" discussion I missed? When I asked last night the power block was 5 extra SC on top of the 5 already and it was every 50 blocks. Pretty sure a consistant bonus reward doesn't count as a lottery.

He may of told you it was a consistent extra 5 every 50, but above he says it's a random chance (1 in 32).

Again the whole legality of the thing isn't really the issue (I'm still unsure of it though), but the constant manipulating the block reward is certainly an issue for those mining.  And god forbid those poor saps who still think SC is -ever- going to be adopted.  SC1 had a chance.  SC2 -may- have had a chance even with the centralization.  But the 13m+ premined with block subsidies being cut down to a fraction on top of lost transactions along with 'powerblocks' and the whole thing is a joke.

How could this be illegal, solidcoin, like bitcoin is a crypto-currency, and it doesn't fall under any laws..

"A game of chance is a game whose outcome is strongly influenced by some randomizing device, and upon which contestants may or may not wager money or anything of monetary value. Common devices used include dice, spinning tops, playing cards, roulette wheels or numbered balls drawn from a container.

Any game of chance that involves anything of monetary value is gambling."  <--- That's where the PowerBlock may get sketchy.  RS even describes it as just that.

Also, just because Bitcoin doesn't violate any current laws, doesn't mean that all cryptocurrencies by default don't.  It depends on how they're designed - their use of cryptography is irrelevent.  I'm pretty sure Gavin was sweatin when he got called in by big brother - and Bitcoin is open source,  doesn't have anything to hide.  SC is a whole other game.

SC will be opensource soon enough. And then everyone better STFU, for atleast two weeks.

Including me..

The source has been about to be released, or released very soon, since the thing was launched.
Not exactly promising.

LOLZ.  Yup no possible law can apply to crypto-currencies.  They are magical.

You honestly believe that.  Source code was promised "soon" from day 1.

If there is anybody else involved in the management/development of sc, they should really, seriously be studying up on how to declare Dear Leader incompetent and try to wrestle control of that ship away from the bizarre delusional course it is on. That madman can't even hold his own line of insanity together for ten irc lines in a row!

Open/Not Open
32 Blocks/5 Blocks
Super Secure/Buggier than a ghetto apartment
The Second Coming of Crypto/The Arrogant Bastard of Flame War Central
Absolutely above board and transparent/Lotteries that are not subject to mortal law
1.3 million/12 million pre-mines
Unspendable Pre-mines/Pre-mines that can be spent when 1 person decides the supply needs it
Community Improvement Board to be named later/Trusted cabal of Secret Friends who are gifted millions

FFS, pick one personality Sybil and stick with it. You are killing your coin with this schizo nonsense. Hand the reins over to somebody else and take a nice long vacation, get your act together and take up a new hobby.

Not to mention for pools. If they don't upgrade to the latest beta in time, they'll find all their mining effort is in vain as soon as the first power block is mined. I think from what I've heard that's going to give them a window of under 24 hours to do the upgrade in total. PPS pools are likely to be particularly at risk.

This isn't the same 'Mush' or 'Mushroomized', mod of SCtalk is it?  I noticed a 'Mushroomized' in BTC-E chat who made a post as 'Mush' over there.
