- 90% of people lost their investments on 90% due to the downtrend 2018

So how do you think will the ICOs trend started in 2016 continue in 2019?

It is showing no sign of stopping, unfortunately.

You just need to go the Altcoin Announcement board to see that new ICOs are popping up pretty much hourly. You also just need to go the Scam Accusations board to see that the majority of them are fake.

The reason scam ICOs are still being created is because they still work - there are thousands of idiots who seem all to willing to give their money away. I had hoped that a prolonged bear market might make these idiots more cautious and dry up the scam ICOs, but it doesn't seem that way, unfortunately.

I think a lot of bounty hunters will leave this market and rebirth will begin :)

I'm not sure of the percentage that lost their investment at this downtrend. I'm sure of that majority with leads close to 100% that invested are now in lost.
2019 isn't going to be a year of ICO's. People will keep on investing to cryptocurrencies but many will be smarter by that time. Disseminating their experience with what happened to this year and the new investors will only invest to the reliable and best cryptocurrency in the market.

in my view for ico right now "so free, later in 2019 there will still be but true" qualified ico and clear company who follows the project and has a legal entity.

most ICO that doesn't have KYC are so good to be true,  literally, most of it are going to be a shitcoin if listed in a exchange site, you can actually recognize it,  through whiteppaper, website, support,  developers and etc, most especially if an ico , is advertised here in the forum just pick it if the manager is reputable. 2019 will be a lose to investors if they continue, to be a part of fake ICO..

As far as the crypto currency is now. I believed ICOs will trend in 2019. Almost all over the world engaged in bounty  and it will reach most investors and bring them to ICO in 2019

I think in 2019 more ICOs will appear and more scammers. Because until now no party has arranged or selected ICOs that will appear so that the ICO will continue to appear even though the ETH price is down.
And at this time it's not the right time to invest because the ETH is falling too deep so that it can make us lose.

I hope the market recovers soon, we don't know when this "soon" will be. But as long as the trend of having NEW ICOs on an hourly basis, maybe the cryptosphere needs to evolve to know which ICO is real, which team is solid, and which is not so these SCAM ICO's effort gets paid by nothing because no one will believe them when the market is educated and knowledgable wnough.

There will certainly be ICOs in 2019, but it will be much less than this or last year. At some point, the scam ICOs will have driven most investors out and an ICO will not be interesting for new projects. Besides, the scam ICO will also become less at some point, since fewer people invest and even for the fraudsters it is no longer worthwhile to build up a scam ICO at some point. So it is only a question of time, when there will be less ICO. Surely we will experience something like this at the end of the year or just 2019.  :(

Yes, previously ICOs was more conservative and used escrow service to keep investors money. Then it had changed and the scam rate pumped up.

It is indeed very difficult to choose a good ICO project for now, many new ICO-ico projects have sprung up. I think the formation of a new project will continue, and a qualified and legal company that still follows the ICO project.

In my opinion, it is too early to say that investing in ico is a complete failure this year. It is similar to the miracle that ETH did at the end of last year. By the end of the year, the market rises. I do not expect the ETF and unwanted crypto to be controlled like the stock market before :)

If this Bear market would continue into this year and would continue on next year 2019 then I do really believe that ICO trend will gradually decrease and decrease until we would able to see few projects.
Hesitations of investors cant really be avoided since the bubble of crypto had been exploded already which also have been said by Buterin itself.We can really presume that there is really the doubts which can block the adoption.

No in 2019 there will be an active growth of the crypto currency and the ICO will also begin to be popular again but not all as before in doubtful proety people will not invest .

You may stick towards ICO investment alone there are many things you can define your side ICO will be much helpful thing to grow more as the investors but all the time ICO are not correct for investment.
Please read the white paper and team information carefully if all good then tends with any ICO project else do not give any damn towards them.

Most ICOs are struggling to reach soft cap. The reasons (a) too many people got scammed (b) there are way too many projects out there. IMO paying money for crypto on advance, a big no no.

Its going to wise versa. I accept that 2018's growth trend has caused many ICOs hold back from getting into the market. They just held back but have not stopped. They know crypto's nature is to have dumps and pumps always. 2019 is going to be an year of crypto currencies. Bitcoin value is going to start from minimum $10k in January moving upward. This would be the least threshold bitcoin would set itself next year. Just look at the number of scam ICOs got into the market, its very less. They could not make is as the market was so down. We received en number of legit ICOs with best projects if you had gone through.

Don't believe in the fake news you are reading about the death of the ICOs. ICOs will live until there is bitcoin. It will only change it's name to some same sound name but it is still coin investment. It maybe called biz startup, ITO, or any other appropriate name but it is still the same in platform as ICO.

I think the ICO trend will continue to develop if the money market is still alive.

I read a lot of statistics and over the last half of the year the ICO market has decreased significantly. And when the number of ICO decreases, investors begin to buy existing coins and this can become a signal of a market reversal until again it becomes oversaturated with ICO.

The growth trend just held back the ICOs from getting into the market. But they are just waiting back for bitcoin and other altcoins values get back on track. Besides the red market, if you had looked at, we had so any legit ICOs this year. They were and are in line with getting into exchanges. Many have succeeded. this is a very valuable lesson for us, investors. the extent to which we understand an ICO. do not be too easy to fall in love with tempting offers. even we have to observe the real journey in an ICO. it is not easy, at least it is possible to minimize the possibility of us being trapped in a scam.

You will be lost if you invest in any ICOs that have very high cap.

ICOs will still continue to trend even beyond 2019 because it gives investors hope for profitability in their capital. However, without proper research and knowledge of the company, the team and the project itself, and overall behind the ICOs, the risks are very high that you as investors will be scammed.

Even more than 90% ICO scam but until now there was plenty of new projects has been announced for each day and i think the trend still hasn't stopped yet for next year and i'm pretty sure people will still seeking upcoming ICO which have potential to grow but indeed to do so people will more carefull and aware

i don't think this will stop due to those scam projects. It seems that this will increase in the coming years due to more projects will be launch thru ICO. I'm hoping that every investors will do his diligent research about those projects before putting their money to them. We need regulations for this ICOs to minimize fake projects.

why are you thinking like that ? and 90% ICOs are scam? i dont think so . yes it is true that most ICOs right now is scam but its not 90%, maybe 60 or 55% i still find ICOs project who have real product with  strong vision and mission ,and have big community . people lose their interest in ICOs because bear market .

In everything there is high percent scams. We just need to recognize it and avoid it as much as we can. But sadly there will always be someone who wants to get rich over night and will invest his money in something that is too good to be true and lose it. Thats how it goes. i believe that many people thesedays are now aware on what ico's are and it isnt really for investing to be able to earn a huge profit . many people are also aware that most ico's are just scam or fake , so chances are only slim for ico's to become trendy in 2019 or even this year . they can be trending not because they are profitable but because they are known for being a scammer .

I think due to increasing number of scam ICOs the investors are now wise not to invest in them, their past experiences will serve them as a lesson to dont trust again or become careful.

Its better to invest in the popular coin that is currently available in exchanges rather than risk your money in a token that has no value yet.

ICO trend may slow for awhile until they can find a way to be approved by SEC of the country. Once the team is approved I think they can then do an ICO but this time I think its going to have less scam for they are going to be held liable so they can't get away with millions if they attempt to scam since they are not anonymous anymore.

I think more than 10% because I see there are still many ICO projects that can reach Hardcap, there are still many ico projects when the redemption is opened directly into coinmarketcap. That shows the level of investor confidence that is still there, a sense of optimism from investors

Few of them are the real ones and most of them doesn't really have a place to go.

Many spend spoofs and immediately dead projects, which immediately and no future continuation! Such projects are only for emulating money from investors, and after the project is closed, because of its non-profitability! I hope for the best picture next year, as in my opinion, cleaning is taking place at the expense of the fluctuation of the course of all projects - Bitcoin!

I do not agree with you with "90%" but nothing happens. Questions if in 2019 the ICOs will cease to exist? I do not think that happens, there are very good people with very good ideas, and if you are lucky and have an eye for the ICOs, you will be interested not to stop.

The ICO field needs regulation at the legislative level. There is a lot of fraud. When regulations appear and people will trust these start-ups more, then ICO will gain new momentum. Many identical projects appear, I think people will soon learn how to select really good projects.

I think that some countries are still active and encouraging the operation of this ecosystem. Current market trend keeps new icos get in now. Suggest Just check out the recent ICOs got in. Their projects are really trustworthy to invest. Bitcoin value is being stable between $6k to $7.5k. Well, nothing has changed much and for what I can see, the market is really attempting to hit the maturity stage gradually which would happen very fast with regulations. ICOs will definitely still be available, new ideas from new teams will sprout in the long run, and surely we will get to see some maturity in the space as we get to see more smart investors, quality team, as well as quality  products. Yes. The thing with ICOs today is that a whole bunch of them are scam and shitty and so many of them will only end up the drain as the market gets more matured in the long run. Yeah that's true as many people will take the risk in investing ICO's project. This will increase the numbers of ICO's that being launch in the coming years. This year 2018 most of the ico was ended up into scam results. Then, some project was being paused at the moment. So, this year for the ico is the most horrible things to me, due to few of them paid to their participants who joined to their bounty campaign. However, in my analysis this quarter is the beginning of good appearance of the ico now.

ICOs are dying now, as evidenced by its thinning numbers. This is because that most of them are scams, and people became sick and tired of being scammed. Lots and lots of people are losing faith in ICO, and these long bearish months add up to their dilemma. They're workers and they need a work to do and so they never stop hunting. Also, i don't think market collapsed because of bounty hunters..that's no way true. I think yes , Trend will get down much because here present time even not profitable for the ICO launcher team , We can see everything month 3,4 ICO project are launching but we can see that crowdfunding/investment are not going so high as it was about one year back , and also this results into down stable market of the etherium coin .

I personally feel that the ICO trend will continue in the next few years, as long as there is no special action from the highest security institution that will properly close the ICO project. Because we are aware, know, and care about investors and we also do not want this bad thing to continue because the longer they can run a scam project, the more investors will lose their money, this will have a bad impact on crypto. I don't know, all I can say is we don't know what will happen in the future. The situation we had it now in the market was not quite good and its been stocked up for a couple of months, where most of the traders got panic in it. While some traders is affected by this crisis in crypto's instead, they took it as a good chance to buy a huge of altcoins which suddenly got dumped its value like Ethereum, Waves, Neo, and others. In 2019, we are going to see many new ICO's because Binance is launching their decentralised exchange and their own blockchain which will help to launch ICO's on their platform. Not only there are many other companies planning to do the same thing in the coming years.

ICO is a splendid idea.  We can’t take that away from it. If scams come in, then we just have to find a way to regulate the market.
That’s going to up come really soon. Now we just rely on good wil.
