I can see it going to Oleinik, probably by submission in the first 3 rounds. Hunt looked poor in his last fight.

I like Hunt via KO

lol

Ollynyk is not the kind of wrestler that Hunt faced last fight

I dont think this is going the 5 round distance lol

SUB OR KO

^  Where were you during 228?  Nice win on the Chosen One.  And I assume you bet on the under 4.5 as well?  I think the under was what the bookies really got wrong imo.

Anyway, who you got on 229's main bout?  I got the underdog (while he's still the underdog).  Lol.

I had woodly and didnt bet on the totals. I was a sucker and bet on the two women underdogs  ::)

Ive got Khabib, even the best wreslters have issues stopping that takedown
Also there is zero threat of sub from the bottom, hell Khabib could even pull guard and that would be bad for Mc Gregor.

Dunno man...  It feels like McGregor's gonna snipe one straight to Khabib's chin.  ;D  Notice how he extends his right arm like a frame to feel out wrestlers like in his match vs Alvarez.  If he feels it isn't a td, he releases, then *pew pew pew*, McGregor fires the lasers.

You seem to know what you are talking about, so I'll put £5 on Oliynyk via submission and £5 on Hunt via KO  ;)

Not a bad match up, a classic striker (Hunt) vs and submission guy (Oliynyk).

If Mark Hunt can land a solid punch on that chin, its going to be a walk-off KO.

But if Oliynyk, gets him to the ground, constrictor will choke the hell out of Hunt and taps out.

Notes.

--This will be the 1st UFC event in russia. It should be mentioned that being in russia many russian fighters could be fighting in their home country in front of their families and friends. It could mean russian fighters will train harder to win than they normally would. Sometimes there is also home country judging where those fighting in their home towns receive preferential treatment from judges. An example of this could be Fedor Emelianenko being awarded a winning decision over Fabio Maldonado.

--Mairbek Taisumov is reportedly having difficulty obtaining a travel visa. If he can't acquire a visa he can't fight.

--Magomed Ankalaev is a very good wrestler and fighter. Former dagestan greco wrestling champion, etcetera. He might be a lock here(hence the low odds on him).

--Merab Devashvili is also a good and well rounded fighter. Might also be a betting lock with low odds.

--It is possible Andrei Arlovski should be the betting favorite over Shamil Abdurakhimov. Arlovski moved from Jackson-Wink to American Top Team awhile ago and has looked much better since making the move.

--Mairbek Taisumov might also be a lock if he is granted a travel visa to fight.

--Not many notes here, I don't recognise many names fighting @ this event.

--Being in russia, it is possible this event will air much earlier or later due to timezone differences.

--Mark Hunt may also be a lock. He's 44 years old. If he were a few years younger and his opponent didn't have such an unorthodox fighting style I would definitely bet him here. As things are, I'm leaning towards Hunt but wouldn't bet too heavy on him in case he goes to sleep one day a competitive athlete and wakes up the next a little past his prime.

These would be my picks, although it helps to read the fine print.

-Ankalaev
-Devashvili
-Taisumov
-Hunt
-Arlovski

In the previous match Hunt had an unfavorable winning record because he was able to win one of four matches, while the oleinics would have high confidence because they fought in his own hometown, I thought oelically more likely to win the match against Hunt

Well This for me in my opinion was not very interesting, Well just my opinion I really think that Oliynyk had the upper hand maybe because of his build an power over The Super Samoan, But hey maybe Hunt can have a defense build that Oliynyk can not penetrate, But I can say that Oliynyk had the the speed and Power, But Hunt had the upper hand on the defense, I am not fairly excited with the main event particularly I am not interested with Hunt, I don't want to sound bias but that is my own decision and I had my Bet on Oleksiy Oliynyk all the way in this fight.

Most of the predictions above are mainly focused on Hunt vs Oliynyk (well, obviously they are the main card here) but I just wanted to spare some space for our prelims match mainly on Mairbek Taisumov vs. Des Green. This will definitely be a battle of wits and endurance resulting Taisumov's first UFC decision in ages. We all know that Taisumov is focusing on his speed and will try to land those sledgehammer punches but we shouldn't forget that Des Green is very durable and will definitely try to pressure Taisumov by halting its pace. This will be a battle between sword and shield, offense versus defense.

These could go both ways (like in any sports) but I'm not expecting any KO's here. Again, I'm expecting a decision here favoring Taisumov unanimously.

Not really impressed with either Hunt or Olinynk, both don't really deserve to be at the top of the game in my opinion, just waiting for an up and comer to come and destroy them both. Looks like quite a 50/50 match up, though I'll give the slight edge to Hunt due to his conditioning.

Not a bad card for a Fight Night that usually have good head liners only. Aside from mark Hunt I see good names like Andrei Arlovski and Thiago Alves, both fighters have earned good reputation over the years they are fighting in UFC and being paired to fighters with 0 and 4 losses might help catapult the career of other fighters if they can pull a win over this seasoned fighters.

We actually have pretty good odds on the weekend's main card:

UFC: Fight Night 136 (https://cbet.ly/2MwZFkG)

Outrights: Aleksei Oleinik (2.31) v Mark Hunt (1.62)
Rounds: Over 1.5 (1.91) Under 1.5 (1.86)

I'm pretty terrible when it comes to predictions and tips, but if I had to go with my heart it would be Oleinik (I always tend to side with the underdog) but head is saying Hunt. Over 1.5 seems to have some value too as I don't think we'll see an early KO.

^  Yup, the over looks good imo.  I could see this go a tad over the second of the second round...  It's close.  But for 1.91 it's essentially a coin flip.

Anyway if anybody wants to post the weigh ins, video and the actual weight of the fighters feel free to do so.  Thanks.  :)

Hunt is a fat bastard ;D
He looks so unfit but he’s a bit of a machine with a really powerful punch & an aggressive style. I actually think he’ll win by TKO.

Same here. And he's got a sturdy chin to pair with that left. Hunt's physique can actually fool you if you haven't seen any of his fights. I'm betting on a knockout same as he did with struve.

Two misses on the undercards:

Jin Soo Son - 137 pounds
Mairbek Taisumov - 161 pounds

Mairbek Taisumov reportedly had trouble obtaining a travel visa. I think he had issues finding a place to cut weight properly, getting his training in. He might also have had issues finding a hotel with a sauna or hot water which MMA fighters typically use to cut weight.

Normally when someone misses weight its often attributable to injury or improper training/preparation. In Taisumov's case difficulty in obtaining his visa could be @ fault.

Hunt is a fat bastard ;D

Its not fat.

Samoans and other polynesians spent literally generations living on islands, punching each other in the face. As a result they may have a higher bone density than normal as well as other evolutionary adaptations which give them slight advantages in hand-to-hand fighting. Hunt is one of the heavier heavyweights, as well as being possibly the shortest in the weight division. Having a higher bone density could explain that.

The same could apply to Robert Whittaker (who is half maori) etc.

I would rather be a fat bast*rd like him with a punch that can knock anyone out cold than be a fat bast*rd that can only knock a case of cold beer.

His record may not be as impressive as other UFC fighters but looking at the names that he was able to knock down because of his heavy hands, would be opponents would have second thoughts on signing up with this guy.

3/5 picks correct for 60% accuracy. A poor result for me. Then GGG didn't get the decision from the judges. :D Not the best night for gambling.

Both Mark Hunt and Andrei Arlovski both looked terrible in comparison to their previous fights. Jan Blachowicz exposed Nikita Krylovs lack of ground game. Jin Soo Son got fight of the night but was ineligible to receive the $50,000 bonus due to him missing weight. Every favorite on the card hit except for Mark Hunt and Nikita Krylov.

There is Bellator 205 on september 21st.

A. J. McKee   vs.   John Macapá
John Salter   vs.   Rafael Lovato Jr.
Veta Arteaga   vs.   Denise Kielholtz
Patricky Freire   vs.   Roger Huerta

Next UFC event is Jimi Manuwa vs Thiago Santos in sao paulo brazil on september 22nd.

^  Yeah, I heard the GGG vs Canelo bout was another rigged decision from the judges again.  Lmao.  Stop supporting that sport.  The people behind it, they're all corrupt, especially at Vegas.  The mob, commission, promoters, etc are all in on it.

Been hearing about this "rigged decision" all day yesterday. People are evidently not happy with it. Well, I kinda agree with you and we don't know if the people behind this organization is consciously manipulating the outcome of every fight that present. This is a theory that we can discuss in the days to come.  ;D In the end, its all about the money.

On another note, my prediction between Taisumov vs Green (being it on decision) is quite spot on and gave me some good profit. And that R1 submission by Oliynyk, oh boy, oh boy.
