Bitcoin is going back to the last years price!  ;)

Exactly a year ago, Bitcoin is only valued at around $4,100. From this fact alone, we can conclude that we have not really went down too low. On the overall, the price is still around $2,000 more today as compared to the same day last year. In fact, in the next three days after reaching $4,100, it even went $1,000 lower, reaching around $3,100.

Therefore, we are still gaining. I don't understand why people are in panic mode when we are definitely higher than the price a year ago.

Probably because no one pays attention to the price a year ago. Many people invested in bitcoin when it cost 10k 15k and 20k dollars. And now they are in shock.

if you analysis past year bitcoin price list you will easily understand that. one year ago Bitcoin is only valued at around $4,100. that's why you do not need worry we are definitely higher than the price a year ago.

They are expecting the price to go more than $20k this 2018 but it dip so there will be panic particularly to those investors who got in when the price was higher. If I have invested while the price was $20, I probably would have been panicking before the price dip to save the investment and then buy back at its very low.

only those who randomly or blindly bought bitcoin are now in shock because that is what randomness always brings you to. otherwise those who made a solid investment in bit coin because they studied it first and saw the real underlying potential are actually happy now because they can buy more bitcoin now that bitcoin is extremely underpriced.

the majority of those buying in during the $4k-$20k were actually institutional money. buying up coins to settle up and buy coins to pay out a contracted tranche of funds to the devs for reaching their contractual duties of segwit by mid november.

(yep it was no coincidence that so much pressure was to get segwit activated between november 2017-2018. and then a sudden price spike)

i fully agree we have been on a continued growth of bull run.. yea there have been temporary ups and downs in between but i dont call them bull and bear.. i call them calves and cubs(younger, small ages/time bull and bear)

And this is the fear of the people. Because they have no confidence in bitcoin and they believe the bitcoin will return $ 200 in price. This is just my opinion to strengthen the demand of bitcoin today and many of the businesses accept it as a form of payment. Therefore, the backlog of bitcoin is still ineffective. Because it is bigger it will fall if it happens and it might be the end of bitcoin.

Bitcoin was introduced in 2009 and that time it was totally unknown and people started making their own perception about the bitcoin, when they heard about the policies of the bitcoin, some called it a scam, some called it a Ponzi scheme or some a bubble that would burst soon but there were very few people who believed on it and now they are the bitcoin billionaires so bitcoin has made a epic journey in more then a decade and now is the most popular and successful crypto currency of all, though the valuation of bitcoin is quite low, now a days but still there are assumptions that it would again reach to its peak in coming months of this year.

The trade volume is way lower now than it was last year, we can't expect the value to keep on climbing while there is no real scarcity. I don't think we are going to see a massive price hike until the volume picks up a lot.

Bitcoin is unpredictable. So, I can't guess. But BTC previous status describes that it could bring a different experience for investors. And obviously, it will be quite beneficial.

It was like year's when they though that there where no chances of recovery anymore, But suddenly what happened? Boom the price is unexpectedly goes up. we never know until we reached that time again when bitcoins had its momentum. let's just wait a little bit just a little bit more.

Bitcoin repeats the experience of the past years. After such a high price, which was last year, bitcoin needs to recover. It will take another six months and I think the price will start to rise to new levels. Your chart is very informative and it also confirms that bitcoin will soon recover, no need to worry about it.

In the grand scale of bitcoins expected life, Januarys high value will be nothing more
than a blip. "To the moon" hasnt happened yet and may take a number of years to
happen so please dont be so short sighted.

btc prices did go up high as moon last year, but, the actual fact is for any currency or digital asset to work it needs to get adopted and ppl should connect the value. Prices now are close to acceptable, and unless any force from futures market... I think its gonna be strong for more time.

I only wait for what will happen in the next January, and I will sell my bitcoin if the price can increase again. I know that the price cannot instantly get up in the higher price and it will need time before it can reach the highest price like in December last year. I think it's normal, bitcoin prices rose early in the year because many joined the bitcoin world. Hopefully 2019 will be better than 2017 and 2018. It has been too long for Bitcoin to still be able to return to the highest price last year but there is still hope for another 3 months. last year the price rose high when the end of the year hopefully it will repeat this year

If we see journey with respect to popularity then for sure bitcoin has the most epic journey among all the altcoins and no other coin would reach the level of bitcoins's popularity but if we see journey of serving people then bitcoin served many who were initial investor and whoever invested in last months of 2017 is in huge loss now and regret of becoming part of bitcoin journey.

I think it was a big bubble that finally blew away. But I'm not against cryptocurrencies, on the contrary. That's OK. All young markets are experiencing a bubble stage, which means that bitcoin is gradually developing and gaining its true value.

Don't think about the moon, it will be back sometime in the future or maybe for the next months to come. Keep on holding and don't buy those FUDs that are coming in the news and medias, they want you to sell so they can buy those sold bitcoins at a cheaper price so stick to whatever plan you've made as long as you're holding it.

Lol, well said about the media and the FUDs roaming around at the moment. Still sometimes personally I do fear as its kind off semi-restricted in our country to trade fiat-crypto, vice-versa. And about reaching the moon, I guess soon enough we will reach a new high, might be it will take time as you said. This year it's more than enough if it crosses $15k defeating all the negativity, but still, I do feel it will reach or cross $20k as well, but it's just a speculation and an investor thoughts being an investor.

Yes, I believe that market is going to face turbulence at least for next 5 to 10 years from now because we haven't reached the sustainable level in terms of user base and utility value so expecting stability is not a wise idea at this point. This is not how all the people in the bitcoin community evaluate the market. Actually when people draw out the state of the market they would not consider this long history of the bitcoin and make out a conclusion. people will watch put the performance of bitcoin when the market was green and then, they will compare it with the current position. So of course they will feel disgusted about the market. But what they fail to understand is market cannot be always as per their expectations. Where there is risk, there will  be return for sure.

I really got this feeling that bitcoin price will go back to its 20,000$ and making the hodlers of it rich again. I think too that those who panic sell their bitcoin will refret every decisions they make.

bitcoin price is very good to see on how it moves over the period of time since it is like a mountain that there are peaks and grounds it is better to take the opportunity while it is on the ground so that when the price travel upward direction we will be benefited from it.

But you just show the chart of 1 year only. If you look at bitcoin price chart from 2009, you will notice every year bitcoin price was rising.

Bitcoin price will eventually hit ATH very soon. The next 2months would be different. So if you guys can accumulate more bitcoin please do buy now. Before we enter 2019 price of all alts will be different from its current price. Alts will be dominant in that season so pretty sure bitcoin will be on mainstream once again.

Might as well don't expect too much for this year, the more we anticipate the lesser it occur.
However, the price is still reasonable especially if you bought in lower price so why bother? Having a $100 profit in day trading with bitcoin is actually a good catch, like we shouldn't take this for granted. TBH, the slow yet surely phase of bitcoin is more lucrative than calling it a bubble.

if it is indeed going to come back like last year it was incredible I can't imagine it happening. if it happens automatically altcoins others will follow it, but I hope there will be a slow price increase so we have the readiness to invest in bitcoin. but in my opinion do not expect too much for this year because it can be said that the popularity of bitcoin is declining, I also see there is no news about Bitcoin on TV since last year.

Your picture shows how news really can effect the price of bitcoins. The story of bitcoins are just in its beginning, new all time highs will come in the coming years, followed by fearfully bear markets.
I think there's a good chance for a bull run in the coming weeks.

There are only two possibilities I can think of which is going to happen in the future and both of them are actually pretty thrilling.
First being the possibility that huge adoption will take BTC's price about 10x times more than it's ATH price - Thrilling isn't it ?
Second being that no adoption will eventually take bitcoin's price to a few hundred dollars - Shocking as well as thrilling.
I ll definitely be thrilled to see the second possibility happening as it will truly be an epic journey if it happens.

Well my 2 year journey completed with bitcoin and now i am mostly buying & selling ERC20 tokens.
Now i am thinking that i should buy bitcoin again for huge profit because bitcoin chart looks great right now.

refering for 2017 and 2018 data is too narrow to observe about the price recovery of bitcoin if we graph the average inflation of bitcoin value. The average annual inflation is approx 15 to 20 per annum and the price from the last quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018 is just a short term bull run or just a hype and the said price drop of about 6000-7000 USD is the real value of bitcoin at thi moment.

Yes lots of people are affraid this year because their invested with high price for BTC. But finally we assisted to a big correction but needed one as last year increase was too fast and just resultant of volatility and speculation. Need patient to recover and rise up again with stronger support.

I did seen so many graphs like this and the funniest part is nobody can predict them . There can be really good news coming out in hours and really bad ones coming out in hours aswell and ofcourse it will make price manipulation two ways , up or down . Thats it , there is nothing you can predict with graphs ....

Personally, I still have confidence. sooner or later, the price of bitcoin will increase. In fact, the increase will exceed the highest price that has ever happened to bitcoin  :)

I do not worry about how high the price is, because the cryptocurrency continues to develop actively. The price is growing slowly, it is true, but the most important thing is that this growth is!

This is a great illustration of the fact that bitcoin does not die, it just develops. Yes, it falls in price, but then it recovers again, and most importantly, the price has increased, in comparison with last year. Therefore, there is definitely no reason to panic.

In General, I do not think that Fiat is in danger in the next 100 years at least: money is the only product produced by the state system, and from their release the state makes a profit-the cost of the money supply is much lower than its nominal value, that's the income to the state.

Bitcoin has gone through the trials of time and along with it the high expectations of users and holders towards the end of 2018. People will normally expect something great out of Bitcoin for 2018 due to the 2017 phenomenon. Something that we should be optimistic about.

It has flattened out for a long time now so I'd say that this graph will not have changed much in terms of peaks and troughs. What would be interesting is what happens next year, it won't flat-line for long and many institutional investors are itching to get in

That year of 2017 is a unforgettable days for me for experiencing the price of bitcoin and also good oppurtunity from investors if they hold their bitcoin  until that year and a once of a lifetime they earn a big profit from bitcoin.
But now I don't think it will happen again as far as the market from 2017 to 2018 is a very big difference.

I wish all the prediction and a miracle will happen for bitcoin's price. Pretty sad for this year for bitcoin, If the ETF will be accepted that should make BTC price to rise again I think? But still, I trust it and will still hold and use it until to the last!

I agree with you, I guess that we will never see such crazy pump as it was in end 2017 - beginning 2018.
But I expect that BTC`s price will grow slowly during long time. ATH 20k$ is not the maximum, i hope  :)

Yeah same though here but we can't blame some of them maybe they are late investor who invested when Bitcoin was on it peaks while the other are just new here and they think the current price is so low.

This is what bitcoin is all about and I hope many people that are into and not into bitcoin will see this. It is because many people here that was just became an enthusiast only because of the value last year for the reason that they think that the journey here in bitcoin is very easy that you will invest money and you are sure when to earn. It is not like that. As you can see, the value of bitcoin is very unpredictable, but it doesn't mean that when it goes too low, it is the end of bitcoin. It is what bitcoin is all about. It is on how to maximize the low value by buying on those times and selling it when you think it is reasonable to sell it.

2009 the epic year for bitcoin, bitcoin has always been in controversy because of its volatile nature as its valuation keeps on flactuation with time and when valuation deflates, people starts calling it scam or a bubble that would burst soon and when it was new a decade ago everyone was calling a scam but then bitcoin has made tremendous progress and have learnt a lot from the success stories of bitcoin billionaires and after facing so much obstacles in its path it is now in the top of crypto ranking and in future it will definitely end up being declared as a central currency world wide.

I think it's too early to jump to conclusions.In such matters, the main role is always played by time.And we need to give it to Bitcoin for rehabilitation.The situation is not critical yet and we must find a favourable way out of it.

What do i think? Ofcourse i can think nothing about it.. I mean who can? That Picture belongs to a just for 1 year. If you look at the bigger picture you can see that the bitcoin has played with us. It made us happy or angry, poor or rich.. Some of us make good ammount of Money with BTC, some of us lost.. I think everyone needs to understand this, in past year if you are lucky you catch the raise, from 4.000 to 20.000, but if you are not lucky you could buy with the high price and your Money is 6/1 right now.. I think we should be very careful with the ICO now because even with this market condition, things like this are quite dangerous. Like the previous case, ICO committed a scam by selling funds collected to make a dump on several coins

That is a summary from 2017 to 2018 based on the increase and decrease in the case, although it does not show the drama of exchange hacking. To be honest, I was not interested in seeing the graph presented, because it did not provide a good analysis that the news caused a wave of rising and falling markets.

The journey in 2017 for bitcoin was extreme where lot of new investors got interested and lost thei money now due to the heavy price fall since the beginning of 2018.If the investors thought that they can gain money from bitcoin invest in a year then they did wrong they need to wait longer if they really want the profits.
