I am thinking of investing little money in cryptocurrency. I don't want to put my money into shitcoins. Therefore, I will invest in only top 10 on CMC.What is your thoughts on ETH, ADA and XRP?

I believe only the top3 are not shitcoins (btx eth and xrp).

All others are risky.

However, some people believe only 100% btc is a good portfolio. And it is. The more diversification the more risk

If you go for the top 10 coins, it would be too expensive now and I thought you want to invest little money for now. You could support ICOs with a promising project. The higher the risk, the higher the comeback of the profit.

Every person who investing in cryptocurrency or other are expecting higher return but my suggestion is this to you don't think like that in short term be calm invest on good coin.

What is the little money in your opinion ? some hundreds or some thousands ?
There is a common sense: high risk high rewards, so you get the idea: higher risk with shit coins, the bigger return of you are lucky.
Now comeback to 3 coin you listed: If I were you, I will choose ETH, it has been down a lots but I believe it will return strong in the future when the market become active again. Also, look like ETH is the only coin in your list that have good actual usage.

Good strategy as that is what I personally am into doing right now. Currently, i have positions on ETH and ADA which are coin platforms that have extremely good potential but not XRP because i feel like it is too centralized and it's future is too dependent on the Ripple company itself.

Given this, why not also consider just invest in Bitcoin itself?

Investors are wolves. They care less about the whole blockchain basic purpose.

Devs really need to wake up and protect their miners because if every single miner pulls the plug, these coins will have a hard time/grind to a halt and/or becomes useless.

Buying a coin without an active mining community is like buying snake oil. No transaction will happen without miners.

the three coins you mentioned are very good. I highly recommend it to invest in this coin. lots of advantages from these coins.
Ethereum (ETH) has been the dominant smart contracts blockchain for several years now. Cardano seems bright enough, even though it might require a lot of work and effort. Cardano continues to develop and advance and has become a pretty safe investment at this point. I believe XPR is a “centralized” cryptocurrency. Ripple Labs, the company behind it, does not try to target common people with its marketing efforts.

You want to start with cryptocurrencies why you skip bitcoin? do you have any reasons why you don't prefer to start investing on it? that's the safest coin that you can invest for now but if you want to get on to ETH then do it but with XRP, I don't like it and others but there are investors here that liked it.

ETH and ADA are good choices for investing, but replace XRP with other coins. LTC and XMR also promise and most importantly not to forget BTC in your purchase or investment.

I think ETH, ADA, XRP are good coins but it can not bring you much profit because its price is quite big and stable. If they increase, they will not increase as much as other altcoins.

Investing in the top ten top-10 coins has always been the least risky. It will be very profitable now, when all the coins have fallen very much in price and the general recovery of the crypto-currency market is expected. I dont understand why you have that kind of title. If you want higher returns then you need to invest huge money into it for sure. This world is driven by the rule called as "Money makes more Money" and thats how you get returns. Its but obvious that person who have bought 100 bucks worth BTC will get small returns while person who has bought more than 1000 bucks worth BTC will have higher returns. With that increases the risk of investment, you have to stake huge money and at the end if everything goes as planned then surely you will get huge returns.  ;)

Yes, thats a good choice then.. Investing crypto which is already in the market is advisable. This tokens has price already and surely you have a better profit in the near future. unless those in top 10 altcoins show some real life uses, prices may not increase much. one advantage of investing in top 10 is more stability in profits since they were more established. if you are after more profits, invest in lower marketcap since they have more room for growth.

With all the proper study and current market situation it occurs to me that ETH is best investment of this year. Many people and analysts stated that ETH is going to be above 2.5K USD by mid-year but this was higher expectation by almost everyone. I guess this changed everything when mid year came and ETH started to fall back a lot. Today as we know, ETH is at bottom prices of all time, its gonna be best with the current rate to get invested. Its cheap and its cheapest relative to the prices of its ATH duration which was nearly 1200 USD. I guess with the current rate you can easily achieve 10x profits if ever ETH starts climbing upwards.

Top 10 coins are good coins but as time goes on the development of the top 10 coins if not on the roadmap of what they claim the demand for them will also drop. My advice is that dont buy base on charts but based on research of team members previous "moon" ICOs and the functionality instead.

I think all cryptocurrencies have advantages and disadvantages all depends on the investor who disclosed this, as far as I know the crypto currency cannot be predicted with certainty the future development

of the three coins that you mentioned I think the ETH has the biggest potential profit. the price of ETH is very low for now, this is the right time to invest. before bullrun comes.

I've invested in in coins from top 50, only those which have MVP, real working product, own platform and ambitious plans.

Anything in the top 10 should be safe and can give you 3-7x return if the market gets back to it's old highs.  If you buy riskier coins you take larger risks of losing it all however you get the bigger gains.  I have part of my portfolio in top 25 coin and the other part in top 100-500 coins.

Yes, top 10 coins are good for safety, but you probably won't make that big profit soon. There are also coins with great potential that are not even in top 50, which i believe can give you higher returns.

Sometimes it doesn't matter on what coin status in coinmarketcap will give us profit, it is more on what we will do in it. If we choose to invest it or to trade it. Trading requires more skills to be able to earn and so we can expect a higher return when we pick a good coin.

I don't think it's worthy to invest your $$$ on ADA. Out of those 3, ETH can be a good choice still. Also, I will suggest you refill your portfolio with at least 50% BTC cause majority of the coins from top 10 may lose their value and never back again while no matter how much value BTC lose, it will recover again.

Well my suggestion is not to sell coins now as you people's are aware that market is facing it's tough condition. Hold and have patience wait for your turn. yes, a good choice if you want to invest in all three altcoins. especially now the price is so low and can be said to be cheaper than before. however I am not sure that the market will recover in a short time especially for this year. most likely the market will return to normal in the middle of next year. this is just my assumption.

I have had a profit with a higher return than before. That is when I buy Ethereum and XRP. Until now they are the favorite coins that I have and still keep up to now. Ethereum and Ripple have great potential in the future, I'm sure like that.

Those three are good choices but before you invest specially if you are trying to hold them for long term. You better set an expectation or a limit where to sell those for a profit or stopping some losses. Try to read their chart on coinmarketcap so that you will have a better idea what price to enter and if you are holding those for long term, you better store it to a hard wallet.

I also consider that it is a less risky bet to invest in coins on the top 10 such as ETH, ADA or XRP and right now the prices have dropped quite a bit and it may be a good time to buy and expect higher profits in the future.
My favorite among this 3 coins is still ETH, although it is the one that is showing less stability lately.
When possible, I advise you to diversify and how you have put those 3, that you invest a little in each to try to limit the risk. Expect high returns is feasible if those coins come back to their ATHs but in the short term, I see it quite difficult and you will have to be patient.

I think Ethereum  is the good choice to buy in this time, for my opinion, Ethereum not like to other altcoins, it can create the smart contract and build the new token, this is the real use case and will not going to the scrap in the future.

The top 10 coins in Coinmarketcap are obviously good coins and have a high potential value, but actually if we are good at researching new coins, our chances of getting for the bigger ones certainly exist. because usually the new ICO coins are born, the price is still cheap. so we can get more coins.

Choosing coins from the top #10 on the coin capital market is not bad but the coins you're not much fitted for this current market. ETH is still unstable cause it future rely on the team sharding implementation and if they don't ETH future is not good. ADA seems not to have much utility to bullish in the market after the market correction. While, XRP is centralised coin and don't usually gain much of pump.

You have an idea already,  you can choose and decide what you want cause those coins belong to top 10 coins in the market have high earning potential. Your money won't be wasted if you won't sell it below buying price.

Last year, it was probably a good decision investing in Ethereum because it reached the top and high price ever. Ethereum became the king in the market cap. Recently, since the end of last year, precisely since September 2017, Ethereum movement tends to run down and like losing out the price. If you buy ETH the time you posted this one, for sure you already accumulate good profit. ETH is my choice because I know it will continue to rise now until it reach the top again. The market is good now, but you still have time to buy eth. :)

Go with ethereum as for me and bitcoin , the king as well the 2 coins can help you. Still investing in the top 10 is good but for me it is better to try a new one in your comfort zone you might like buying or investing altcoins you just need to study to know what is not a future shitcoin.

I have always believed 100% of btc is a good portfolio, but who would certainly want to resist some short term huge profits from alts anyway. For me, I put a huge percentage in bitcoin and the spread the rest on altcoins which I am always monitoring to sell anytime I start seeing some strange upward behavior and everyone is beginning to get greedy and FOMOing. I would only suggest the OP to do proper research on whatever he is investing in.

100% BTC can be a good portfolio if you are seeking an investment which is less risky but when you are seeking a higher return, you can't depend on BTC. Rather it should be some low cap coin which may be pumped in the span of time. However, I always fond of investing my 50% into BTC and ETH and the rest 50% on shitcoins.

It is indeed a safe move to invest on the top ten coin next to bitcoin. I have nothing to say all the three mentioned because I believe they are all profitable if managed well.Just check market updates before selling. It is a right strategy for all people who want to invest in cryptocurrency. Ethereum and Cardano are very similar and have the similar target audiences of users. ETH is overvalued compared to ADA but it is much more useful (look at those millions of ICO on ETH blockchain).
Ripple is another thing and it could be used in much more fields than other two projects, so I think it will increase more than other coins.

Usually, the higher the risk, the more the profit and if care is not taken the higher the losses.
However, I believe on can always take calculated risks, which is why I have never been so much into not tapping from other alt market even though I have most of my stash in bitcoin.

Every altcoin that you have listed has a great perspective and can theoretically give very high returns, but you should not expect great profit due to such market conditions. Even 30 percent would be great at the moment.

I dont like XRP. I agree with your investment in ETH. about ADA i can tell that this is a good project but very very young.

Higher return is not just a regular thing to happen. So,expecting higher return will not be gentle. When is going up than calculate your profit, if you are not satisfied than wait for down and buy more.

I am still investing on bitcoin. I have never lose hope on this coin. And this coin when it have a pump, the pump is big compared to other coins. And this coin have much demand to other user so I am still buying and earning more of these.

Expectations sometimes went into different result that possibly end up to depression of your strategy and budget. Investment requires your deeper knowledge about the particular altcoins that you think suits your future profit desires if possible. ethereum, ripple is quite becoming the good things that you have to invest. both have now become exciting discussions because even a ripple could be retained the ethereum moment and move it. Bitcoin is a good choice for my portfolio. I put 50 percent in bitcoin and distributed 15-17 percent to three altcoins. I always observe the behavior of my altcoins in order to sell at the right time and make a profit. Bitcoin just keep constantly for a long time.

Likewise, bitcoin is the best to invest and worry free because is not risky. I do buying and selling bitcoin but I try some altcoin too in a small amount.

That three coin is good to invest your money and for sure it will increase the value very high and you will earn more money. But I suggest to you better if you are going to invest most of your money to ethereum so you can earn more because ether become very high the value.

This year crypto disappointed everyone but I believe it will benefit us later after few days, I believe the market is recovering slowly let's wait for few more days to get a good return for the investment.

I think the top 10 coins are good coins. In the top just do not fall, there is still a place to earn, so you can safely invest. Of course, these coins are not the fact that they can grow as much as new coins, but they have a good reputation.

Investing into altcoins in bear market it is one of the worst thing what you can do, look what is happening with Bitcoin dominance, it is rising! Because everyone is selling altcoins into Bitcoin.

Your step to investing in the 10 best coins, I think that's a good step. Now you can buy more like BTC and ETH. But now you can also try to buy ICO coins, even though investing in ICO coins has a risk. But if later in early 2019 the price of coins starts to recover, I think you will also get big profits.

That is a nice decision but the top ten coins at http://coinmarketcap.com has also turned to sit coins.  Most of them has lose about  80% of there values in December 2017 as at today . However,  that will not stop you not to invest and those that can buy at this moment are going to make profits when all this issues are over.  I expected high return to those that can invest now are hold for long-term.  I believe in 3 to 4 years to come we would be saying the same story that we were saying last year when bitcoin was in auto bullish trend.

My thoughts are positive and I suggest you to invest in these 3 altcoins. Even at the moment of your question price was sweet.

The fear you have is totally understandable, but you gotta still admit to yourself that even when investing only in Top 10 coins, you could still lose badly. The thing is that the people often see Top 10 coins as a rather solid investment and thus they generally sink larger amounts of money into them.

But like we have seen, nothing stops even Top 3 coins losing their value drastically.

I would put my vote in ETH but not really sure if they could return to a high price the ETH network is full of ICO's.
I think they couldn't handle it and their system would slowdown I would like to see them recover.

If you want low risk whilst also spreading yourself across several different types of coin, then I would say go with BTC, ETH, XRP.

But, I suggest you in addition with the top 10 you should look for another which are far away means top 100 or the newly created coin. Among these I suggest you invest in DIMCOIN, STQ, HVN, Datum, etc. Now these coins are under $0.05 cents which can make you millionaire in no time if the bull run come.

Yes, investing in top 10 coins only will make you effectively copying the whole cryptomarket performance. I would add some mid or low cap coins in your portfolio.

Investing for the coin at the top 10 on CMC will be a great solution for you as we know that those coins can give a higher return in the long-term. ETH, ADA, XRP will also be a great choice, but you need to wait for a long time before you can make money from that coin.
I still buy ADA and XRP too, but I don't just invest or hold because I want to try to increase the amount by doing trading so I hope I can add more amount from the trading.

Everyone who invested in 2018 is rekt including me that is .Let's hope that 2019 sees major adoption of Bitcoin in at least couple of big countries and brings a bull run.

If i am to invest money in cryptocurrencies i will choose etherium because in the future when its value goes up again it will definitely gain kore profits than other altcoins in coinmarmarketcap. Those coins are great. In my opinion, I think you just need to diversify on those three for they have a lot of potential for growth. Place bigger on Ethereum because of it's upcoming forks this January 2019 and just divide your remaining balance on the other two coins, up to you how much you allocate.

Yes, that's what a newbie should do, just invest small amounts in the beginning of their journey and chooses coins in the top 10. That's what I did and up to know I'm still doing it because it's very successful specially in 2017. Patience is also needed as well to be successful, you don't need to be emotional or panic and push the sell button. You made a good choice as this is how I also do my investment in crypto. I do like only the top coins on coinmarketcap because going for those cheap ICOs tokens just sets me into a death trap. ICO tokens are worthless to me. They are only in to destroy our monies.
