So you assume the hacker was poor based on the coins he stole from your wallet?
If you had 1 million ETH,the hacker probably would be a rich one. ;D
I'm sorry that you were hacked, but the hacker's wealth doesn't matter. All the hackers are kinda "poor".If they had a stable legit income, they wouldn't  deal with scamming people and other illegal stuff.

Weather the hacker was poor or not does not matter. What matter is you got hacked in your wallet where the only one that should have access to it is you and you alone specially that the only way to access it is by private key and that only means that you are not careful enough to keep this important data from being stolen. The only lesson that can be taken from here is that you need to be careful on where you access your crypto accounts and wallets and providing personal data from spreadsheets. Learning basic internet protection also helps a lot.

Haha. Right! I think op doesn't care about the money , which is he just want to share and to acknowledge to the public that he got hacked by a poor hacker base on the amount stolen on his wallet. Lol

Ps.  If i were you op try to put a big amount on your wallet then share again your story and comment about the hacker.  Which if it's still a poor hacker and etc. Haha

Ha, ha, funny story.  ;D
But maybe he wasn't poor but he didn't want to steel everything you have so not to leave you without funds.  ;)
Seriously, some hackers don't care that much about the money and they are not so obssesed how much will they steal but they want to show they can do it. Sometimes this could be their reference for some more serious "job".
But you should take this as a warning that you are vulnerable and that your wallet isn't protected enough. Don't let this happen twice.

Yes, I think hackers who hack tokens at prices that are just under $ 80 are very bad. if the hackers have the skills and are not too poor in my opinion, the marus they steal tokens whose nominal is above $ 1000

No matter how you put it this kind of experience is unpleasant. I think that they should stop doing this. It is hard work to steal money from people. You have to work fast, hard and in condition of stress.

Hackers will always be a hacker, of course mostly hackers are poor from the start because they want to become rich quickly. This kind of situation should not be proud of, we must protect are wallet at all time in any cost. Hackers will stay in this market for good, that is why we need to work harder on making sure that our wallet is really safe.

Maybe they have certain purpose. But stay be careful. That is warning for us and you. We must be a smart person. Maybe that hacker isn't hack you only. Imagine if they hack 1 million people and send their money to one address and sell it for personal interest.

A hack is successful regardless of the amount stolen. Perhaps that hacker is not poor or something but a newbie or sort, got very nervous and didn't bother to look at the gas transaction and immediately press send transaction. So let this be a expensive and hard lesson for you, probably you got phished or something and next time just be careful. Your $200 can be $1000 in next couple of months so its really depressing to see you lost that money.

hmmm I don't understand why, maybe he just took something that was easy to resell therefore he chose eth to take and left another coin coin, because in my opinion there are some coins that are not too selling in the market

He is a good hacker who sets aside a portion for you and I don't think he cares about what you have because you have very little value, maybe if you have a lot of ETH in your wallet, hackers will not be responsible for taking everything from you, so be careful Be aware that anyone can be hacked if they don't take care of their wallet properly and properly, hopefully it will be a lesson for you personally.

wait for a very unfortunate thing, my question is how can you get hacked, do you enter the phishing web or you accidentally give someone your privacy key. next time you have to be more careful with what you save because in an advanced technology world like this people will be easier to take or steal your money

Hackers are always looking for ways to take advantage of someone else's network, for example if we do not secure our wallets they will rob our wallets and specialize in our tokens as their property.

You must be thankful because the hacker didn’t get all that $200 and instead of being angry you should be happy and celebrating.hackers don’t care ho much thy might get but its on how they got your money
If i were you transfer that money to other wallet for safety

Well it is never a good thing to get hacked, you need to try to figure out how the hacker got access to your wallet and you need to prevent that even if the amount of money that you lost was small you can not let this happen again, what it's going to happen if you really become successful in this market and then all of that is lost because the hacker stole your coins from you? Second about your assumption that a hacker was poor, it seems irrelevant, but you must not assume that if the hacker is able to steal 80 out of 1000 people then now he has 80000 and that is not a low sum.

I will assumed it's not ETH that is hacked but rather tokens. Looks like the hacker isn't interested in some of your tokens. Maybe because of exchange issues.

But anyhow, the issue here is your poor handling of your important belongings. You are being outsmarted by that "poor hacker" , it's a big slap on your face.

Next time take care of your important belongings so that you will not be proned to hack especially in crypto world.

What wallet was that? You probably used a phishing link or downloaded some suspicious software. Hacking a wallet isn't easy and a hacker needs some help from you to be able to pinpoint your machine. It's like looking for a specific grain of sand on a beach. Be careful your PC may still be exposed (it most likely is) and if you transfer more money to your wallets it can be stolen again.

This is most likely the reason he got hacked. It's difficult to hack most wallets, for you to be successfully hacked, you would have given the hacker the tools he needed to achieve his nefarious activity. And it doesn't matter whether the hacker is poor or rich, fact is, if he had more than that, he would have probably wiped him empty and he ends up loosing a lot. People just need to be more circumspect with their activities online as hackers are always on the prowl looking for some loopholes you've created.

Maybe he/ she need of 80$ alone. You are lucky at this time. You have to shift your coins from your that wallet to some other wallet. This is my small suggestion.Because they can easily hack your wallet in mere future. So the coins in your wallet is not safe from my knowledge.Don't delay for long.Who know he may encounter his second attempt by tomorrow .You are in near danger state.

We cannot say he’s poor maybe hackers still thinking about the owner of that wallet. You still get hacked, that’s the point here so next time protect your wallet at all means. Hackers will find ways to come with us, we must be ready for that so we will never become a victim.

Well, it is not mandatory that the hacker is poor. You think that the hacker hacked your yourself by handy but I can suppose that you was hacked by a program I mean something like a trojan horse or other type of a virus. I am sure that the hacker did not  hack specially your wallet he was likely received the requisites from your wallet from a special virus program which hacks any wallets if it can. Having the secret requisites from your wallet the hacker just steal such an amount which it was on your account.  So the hacker may be not poor as you think

That's right, it would be better if you will create a new wallet since it was hacked by someone or a program. Yes, OP might entered his/her info in a website thats needs wallet address(mostly for phishing attempts or airdrops). We have to be extra careful when it comes to our crypto as people nowadays will do everything just to steal or earn money from someone.

Not because the hacker was only able to hack $80 or $200 that doesn't mean the hacker is a poor hacker. Imagine if the hacker was able to hack 10 wallets in a day and 5 days in a week, does that make him a rich hacker? There's a lot of wallets lying around out there being neglected by owners thinking that it doesn't have much Bitcoins stored that hackers will not have an interest in forcing their way in and withdraw.

IMO he isn't a poor hacker but he is a hacker who has a sense of compassion towards someone else or even he deliberately doesn't take all the money in your wallet so you can be more careful to save all access to your wallet. I just anologize, he can bring all money in your wallet but not all of them. This pointed out that he successfully hacked all important documents to enter your wallet. You should be grateful, don't say he is a poor hacker.

Poor hacker simply because you are being hacked for just $80? every money is important and hackers will hack many people not just you. You're just unlucky guy who fall on his trap, then you're the poor because you cannot notice that one. Hackers is very tricky, and we must protect our wallet. If you don't want to get hacked by someone, better not to trust any one especially the links that is being sent to your email.

You are right in it hacking is everwhere so we must be aware it especially if we hold lots of coins and token in our wallet.  You know what your experience is really alarming.  We dont need to disregard this issue because it is not a normal situation even they stole little still we can called also as hacking.  And remember everything start with little and maybe just for now they will only steal little but if the time comes they will learn to hack more.  That's why it is alarming.  It is unfair for everyone of us.  We are all working hard here so we must be fair. But we cant do anything about it this is not their mentality.

I have an experienced also similar to yours, my wallet was also hacked by hacker but he only hacked a non value token. He put an ETH to my account just for a gas but I thank God I monitor his move, I got the ETH he deposited and I transferred quickly the tokens there in order for him not to get anymore. So be ware of this situation if you find that somebody deposited an ETH to your account it means he has the plan to hack your tokens.

Crime is crime, no matter who commit it needy or professional. If a poor hacker hack your account will you leave him? If somebody is poor why he choose a way which is illegal for making money. He can use legal sources of earning money. If is not good to destroy other people for your needs. If I found a hacker that hack my account I will kill him.

I am not aware and understand the link or what I have downloaded. because the past 6 months I was a bit rare to work on crypto. because I'm sure my wallet is safe and won't be hacked so I'm calm but after I check it turns out there is something missing

I don't think that hacker was poor, maybe he's not smart enough to complete the entire transaction or maybe he's a generous hacker who decided to leave you a tip lol. I think now you should figure out how your wallet got hacked, make ways to secure it. I would suggest 2fa and using Electrum wallet, keep on changing passwords regularly. Well to make up for lost coins I would suggest you to buy and hodl for the long term.

Hacked or scammed? if that person compromises your wallet completely, knows the private key and some important information such as passwords and email then the hacker should not get any trouble getting that $200 worth of ethereum or tokens as it is easy to set gas from that amount of Eth or he can easily send gas to that wallet to get the remaining tokens if that wallet contains that, if that's the case then its time to change your wallet and be careful next time both from scammer and hackers.

Do you know how they were able to access your wallet?  You were lucky to only lose $200, but I'd now be paranoid about your entire computer and things like undetectable keyloggers, trojans, or other things on your network.  Secure your system...

I think he may take the token that is easy to sell, but if he have high skill he should take all the contents inside the wallet. Or maybe there is another purpose that we don't know but clearly people like this will get karma. May we always be careful because if we are already working hard and token being hacked it's really sad.

I think the hacker don't have any idea how to set optimum gas limit and gwei. If the hacker only know, then not a single dollar worth of crypto would be left or even all the shitcoin in your wallet will be stolen for a little amount of eth.

I once got hacked too. But probably because I got fished by a ether delta or my ether wallet scam site. I entered my private key and someone stole all of my tokens
Lucky I only got a few ethos tokens that were worth less than 100€ at the time....my only consolation is that those tokens are now worth like 10 dollars ahahah so, in the end the hacker got rek't by my tokens. I am much more aware now, of websites and phsihing sites

Sounds funny but i think the hacker might be poor, due to he is stealing something in an illegal way, but it will made him rich if he hacks a lot of account. But if you are trying to say that he was a poor based of what he done, his gonna pay it in the hereafter and suffer what he stole here.

Sorry for your loss. But the fact that you were robbed for amount of $200 doesn't mean this hacker is poor - what if he has one Ethereum address with $200 hacked in a day monthly he will have $6000. One Bitcoin in month, that is not "poor" income. So don't count hacker's money - maybe better spend time to increase the security of your assets

There are many of these "poor" scumbag hackers out there.
In the end karma will get them.
is there evidence that karma will work on the internet? You are hacked because ignorance and self-blame leave something vulnerable to hacking without protection.

Poor hacker or not, a thief would always be a thief.

Lucky you that you don't have millions of ETH on your wallet.

Negligence of the OP can be pointed out but a hacker is always a hacker and karma is everywhere.

Not a bad loss, but still it's a loss. Maybe that hacker havks many wallets and not just yours so havking $80 is not bad for him also. Next time be careful in opening your wallet because there are many people who always want to leverage on our accounts.

No matter how much money was not on the wallet, as soon as there is danger of cracking, it is necessary to change the wallet or any other act for the preservation of their money.

Do you know how they were able to access your wallet?  You were lucky to only lose $200, but I'd now be paranoid about your entire computer and things like undetectable keyloggers, trojans, or other things on your network.  Secure your system...
There is actually no other way to access someone's wallet unless the owner ignorantly ended up leaving it vulnerable and in that case, it can make it a lot easy for anyone to gain entrance into the wallet. I think so many people usually end up being a victim of a phishing attack, or probably, ended up being a victim of malware and all these is the reason why people should always try as much as possible to stay secured, so they do not end up being a victim.

It's probably you are very poor, and he decided to leave you at least some kind of kapeck, that you would not be so upset. Kind hacker.
I have never really seen any kind hacker unless it is just some hacker who really wants to just play with you or have fun with your emotions after already stealing chunk away from you. Moreover, the wallet actually becomes vulnerable as long as the hacker already have an access to it, so the best way is to simply abandon the wallet and go open a new one to start making use of. I wonder why someone would steal $80 out of $200 when he could have the chance to steal everything. Something sounds vague to me here though.

I have been hacked too and it was 800 dollars but who do I call for help? Most of the dumb people and starters like us are being hacked for the first time here in the crypto space. I don't know how you conclude that the hacker is a poor one, there are a lot of hackers who are making fortune from hacking if the one who hacked you is a good one he should have made a fortune, it is my believe that hackers do not want to be trace so he just want to get what he can get out of that wallet.

be thankful that your wallet has a small amount of altcoins, if the hacker see a lot of worth altcoins in your wallet, he will actually make an effort to take all of it. maybe the hacker disappointed with the amount he might get in your wallet that's why he didn't take all the altcoins in your wallet.

Being hacked on a small scale,  i think you got lucky as the funds stolen wasn't much,  but i guess you much have discarded the wallet. Well i experienced being hacked on an exchange because 2fa wasn't enabled,  the hacker used the eth on the account to buy a shitcoin he had placed on the market at a very high price, placed the coin on a sell at a very low price,  he did that until both the coin and eth was lost.... Aparently he was controlling another account with which he used to place the shitcoin on order at high price.... Genius but it pained me

Maybe you should be grateful because not everything was taken by the hacker. If everything was taken by the hacker you might cry of your losses.
Or maybe the hacker will come again to take the rest that the hacker didn’t take before. So be careful because the hacker know your security key is easily hacked by the hacker.

Well good thing that hacker did not even bother to take all your coins in your digital wallet maybe for some reason he has a lot of digital wallets to hack and do some trasfer of coins to his/her digital wallet. Good for you also that you were not able to be emptied by the hacker.

$200 is not a small amount for a hacker to take, there are many that just try to sell stuff in the market place for $15 each and find as many victims as possible. If he or she can get $200 from 10 different wallets then it can all add up. Just ensure you protect it as best as you can

maybe the hacker just used your eth balance to send token and because you don't have enough eth the other coins are not send out. and the hacker did not want to send eth to your account to send out the other tokens that is left. so the hacker did not lose anything but instead you are the one that lose some coins. this hacker maybe poor or maybe not but he/she is smart enough to hack you. so be careful next time to avoid being hack.

With how he did that, he can possibly do it with much higher stake, the hackers who already got a chance to crack some wallet will keep doing it again and again till they got something big and really worth to invest their time and effort, its really disappointing when things didn't comes up good when you are waiting for something then it's been hacked not because the amount is not that big but the time of wait and your expectations is really frustrating,.

The most important thing is to understand how did you got hacked and avoid that kind of behaviour in future.
Check if you did some of following:
  • Did you go to MEW by using some link? (always type webapge address of MEW manually or use bookmark)
  • Have you installed software form unverified sources?
  • Have you pasted your private keys on unsecure webpage?

Second, remove all of your ETH to another wallet because hacked wallet is still compromised, and the rest of ETH can be stolen too.

If you had 1 million ETH,the hacker probably would be a rich one. ;D
I'm sorry that you were hacked, but the hacker's wealth doesn't matter. All the hackers are kinda "poor".If they had a stable legit income, they wouldn't  deal with scamming people and other illegal stuff.
seems lack of money is truly the root of all evil ,you are very right ,I'm sure if he have more than that in his wallet then he would kiss his ETH goodbye ,my advice is if he still have funds left in there he better move it to another wallet and stop using the old one.

On the internet, there is almost no one whom I can trust. It seems everyone will take chance if he gets enough power. That's why we need to be more aware of this kind of stuff. Otherwise, we will lose huge because there is a huge smart hacker over the internet.

Hackers are the cancer of the crypto. They are earning the biggest income by far.

I hope a better mechanism will be there to put them into the jail.

How do you know that they are earning the most in this market. I think only a small number of all hackers can earn, and of course they earn a lot from scamming users from the ETH wallet.

There is no such thing as poor hacker even if they did not get a lot of your wallet that does not mean that they were not successful. Just the fact that they got into your wallet shows that they know what they are doing and will be able to get into someone else's wallet. It sucks to be hacked so be thankful that they did not make off with too much of your coin

I do not think it was hacking. I remind you that phishing and other methods of extracting personal information are not hacking, this is just a scam/fraud. I think that there was a mistake on your part.

Just want to share my experience for a week ago.my wallet was hacked  by a poor hacker  in my opinion because in my wallet not more than $200 and the hacker was hacked only $80 when eth for the gas  transaction was run out.very so sad when we waiting for the best price and i will sell it but it was hacked
Next time beware of your wallet and also take care your wallet so that you may avoid those hackers. It's not a poor hacker or a big one because you was hacked a $80 although it was a  small amount only but what if you hacked a large amount of money so better to take care of your wallet and also your private keys.

Basicly scammers take the most luqid tokens and no matter how much it worths. It takes 1 minute to open your Mew with private key and send all tokens to a new address.
Don't blame on him, better improve your security

I feel sorry to hear your loss guy, but fortunately that hacker is not too bad because he’s not stolen all in your wallet. This is the first time I’ve heard such a interesting phrase “ poor hacker”. This small loss is probably a good warning for you, because I think from this experience, you will be more careful and cautious about your wallet in order that you can defend your wallet better. Almost all hackers are pretty active and flexible, if they keep an eye on your wallet, definitely you are in a bad trouble, so be careful dude.

Or maybe he saw you have $ 200 in the account and decided that you are poor and did not want to steal all your money :P. Maybe he was waiting for you to sell the coins profitably. In any case, what hackers do is very bad.

There is no such thing as a poor hacker you are just lucky that he left you something maybe he just pity you or just in a hurry and don't want to add funds for gas because he can hack another account that's your consolation still giving you a portion of your funds.

Or maybe the hacker will come again to take the rest that the hacker didn’t take before. So be careful because the hacker know your security key is easily hacked by the hacker. (http://rumahmu.com)

And I think hackers are carried away by the desire to hack and steal. They're so self-affirming. It is ridiculous to say that they steal money because of poverty.

One wallet - $80, hundred wallets - $8000 because phishing strikes not only a single wallet but almost all who took the bait. I was phished a year ago for nearly $850 and looked at the bastards wallet where $25000 of valid tokens were displayed.
I was amused more than the criminals wallet was connected with the wallet with more than hundred grand.

I agree, but it seems to me that there is a possibility that you will still be hacked. I think that all security today is based only on trust and if hackers have to get you coins, they will still do it. Therefore, today security is clearly not 100%

Directly not Hacker, but Robin Hood. Stole not the full amount, taking care of the owner of the wallet, so that the owner is not very offended. I also had a case of hacking a purse, a crook stole one strong coin, and a month later he took the remaining coins. It was very disappointing. I hope he will pay for the theft.

Regardless of the amount of money that the hacker stole from you the fact that you lost money to him is very worrying you need to begin to try to tell how that happened and begin to take measures to try to make another attack against you impossible, because what are you going to do when you finally become successful and make a lot of money and then you lose it all because of the same hacker?

I am concerned about what happened to you. As a crypto currency player who plays on the market, my advice is that you really need to pay attention to the security of your wallet account. I know your movement to open your wallet is so high that you have to make various prevention so that a hacker will never be able to hack your wallet. Yeah, the incident has become porridge. Now you can only learn from experience and make new strategies so that you don't become hacking victims. You can read tips in the thread in this forum about how to avoid hacking. This is unusual that hacker did'nt take all the coins from the wallet. Better take some precautions as he might be back later to take the rest from your wallet. It might be some kind of his strategy. Use hardware wallet only for your digital coins to keep them safe.

I don't think that your account is what they were actually gunning for, it could be that the hacker just used your account as a way to test if what they are doing is working before they actually moved on to the account that they want to hack. You should be happy that you did not lose too much from the coins when they hacked your account, others are not so lucky

There are cases when even after registering with an account I notice after a while visiting from other ip-addresses. I can not understand how this is done or this administration is abusing its capabilities.

The amount you lose to a hacker has nothing to do with the wealth that the hacker has, what if that hacker hacked hundreds of people for amounts similar to that? Suddenly the hacker has tens of thousands of dollars at his disposal from a single hack, forget about such things and concentrate only on how to secure your coins which is the most important thing after you have been hacked.

Well I what I would say is that most of the hackers are poor I think because they lack conscience and that made them poor and not because he only stole your $80. But anyway better transfer what had left in your wallet and never use it again coz he will surely come back to get all that's in it once he load enough eth to consume for the gas.
