Title: Which Altcoin can change Ether?
Post by: NikoF on September 14, 2018, 05:29:50 PM
Hello everyone. Whah do you think, which altcoins can change ether and become altcoins number 1? There are a lot of pretends with better transactions speed then ether.

TRON should be one of them. The ICOs coming out on TRON, along with the scalability and incredibly cheap transactions, make TRON one of the top competitors. They have the potential to power a decentralized internet, where the ETH network does not atm.

For now none. Though I like the competition that is going on now. Crypto-market is a pure competitive one. The followers are always putting pressure on the market leaders.

I think EOS and TRON are big contenders to become number one, but ETH could not easily get destroyed. For now, I think ETH will still remain on the top of altcoins.

I think NEO will do that in the future. NEO has been competing with ETH for 1 year and now with the terrible situation of ETH, NEO will soon surpass ETH and become the # 1 altcoin in crypto

NEO seems to be the next best coin that will come in the market after BTC. The coin has good TPS and at the same time it has a good demand in the market too.

Maybe NEO, EOS can become in the future competitors of Ethereum, but now it is impossible from the technical point of view, in the future I think that NEO will become the main competitor of Ethereum .

Other altcoin that could be the Number 1 apart from Ethereum:

1. NEO
2. EOS
3. TRON
4. ICON
5. ADA

People are hyping on these altcoins , they brand it as an Ethereum Killer.  These are promising idea that continues the attention of investors.

I guess IOST could be the next level of deal soon. IOST is internet of service token which was formed last year and has come up lately with great popularity among the users. Now this is not the platform which will be giving out smart contracts and stuff like that but surely it can make things go green for the transaction speed. Currently it is very fast and needs single conformation to get transacted and thus may become the choice of community sooner. They are striving to get people over  board by publishing some exciting programs around and thus may help it grow to next dimension soon. Im looking forward to have it as number 1 currency soon.

They are overrated altcoins, look at the fact that has already happened in the real life. So many platforms that used their blockchain still use ethereum to raise the money from the investors. that give us a lot of clue about they have no demand. I just need one smartcontract platform and i don't need all of them. ethereum is enough for me. about the scalability problem and it can be fixed.

TRON, EOS and NEo, these three coins seems to be in the run for the next best coin after BTC. Whichever one it will be, it's a shame to see ETH taking this drastic fall.

At this stage, it is impossible, the etherium is confidently number 1 among the platforms. But there are applicants who need to exert titanic efforts to achieve such a goal and one of them is EOS, then Tezos. In Neo, Cardano, Stellar, Tron I don't believe they can not become like the etherium in the near future.

Although i'm a confessed Ethereum fan boy, i really do objectively believe that there currently is no other altcoin that is close to replacing Ethereum (well except for bitcoin but it doesn't need to replace ETH since BTC is already ahead).

How can some other new coin match adoption rates of ETH which are already through the roof? Even billion dollar projects like EOS couldn't compete with ETH. I'm guessing it's going to require something almost of a miracle coin to overthrow ETH's reign.

Participating in various bounties, I can give as an example the following:
one token on NEO;
one on Ardor;
two or three on the waves;
the rest are on the Ethereum.
Maybe it's too early to talk about competition?

I think Dogecoin is the closet that could replace Ethereum because Dogecoin is the only altcoin that is not affected much by the down market. It holds its price at a stable price.

I can't think of an altcoin that could replace Ethereum from being number 1 altcoin. But, I think Its coming hardfork Constantinopole might be. It is Ethereum's upgrade with high expectations and as designed will perform better than Ethereum. Let's see.

I think it's EOS. EOS is a technology platform for building distributed applications. The same is a platform that runs distributed applications but EOS has the advantage of better replication than Ethereum. So can EOS surpass its rivals?

Right at the moment, I think there is no altcoin can replace ETH but in the future, maybe EOS, NEO or few other altcoins can replace ETH and become the best altcoin of crypto market :). At the moment, although price of ETH is falling very quickly but it's still the best altcoin because so many ICO projects are being developed depend on blockchain of ETH.

Though I don't think Ethereum can be replaced by another coin. Ethereum such a big platform and it makes very easy to make on this platform because of the revolutionary contract system! However, if any coin can replace Ethereum by somehow then I think EOS will be that coin. EOS or ADA or BNB can do it. This is my personal opinion.

I think EOS can be change Ethereum. Because EOS using a delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) protocol that should eliminate the bottleneck that Ethereum is experiencing. DPoS protocols are also impressive because they can allow developers to freeze the network when a broken application is identified. While frozen, the developer can fix the problematic application without negatively affecting other accounts within the network.

I think NEO will replace the aether in the future. NEO has more features than any other altcoin. NEO operates on a major economy is China. NEO is supported by the Chinese government. So I believe that NEO is a valuable coin in the future.

I think which altcoin can change ether and become number 1 altcoin. I think there are some altcoins that appear at this time, such as TRON, NEO, EOS and others. But it all depends on the demand and also from the better transaction speed in the market. who can change it.

lol this is a joke ethereum still didn't implement the update. EOS has a horrible governance. So many copycats of ethereum incldued EOS and all of them have nothing to be used even their blockchain lack of demand.
It can't consider a lot of icos are still using ethereum rather than move to the EOS to raise the funds from the investors.

The alternative for Ethereum we don't have now. But in the future, it will be altcoin which also supports many tokens. As written in this thread maybe it will an NEO. But I have a number of doubts about it. Because this token doesn't develop with big temps as Ethereum in the last periods.

Competition is a good thing but honestly i can't see project that will overpass ethereum. Just because before they deliver robust and reliable solution ethereum will solve main problem - scalability. Perhaps most importantly that this issue already solved(3rd party projects). In the upcoming weeks/months we will see first mainnet releases from these projects.

Simple answer is VECHAIN. The crypto market has had its "bubble-pop" moment in 2018, seeing many coins trade for just 5-10% of their all-time high values. With the "pop" many believe some coins will go to zero. And with reports that several coins valued in the millions have no working product, this makes sense.
But Vechain does have a working product. It's a product that the company has been developing since 2014: a blockchain-based ledger that helps record large-scale logistics for enterprises. With an original focus on anti-counterfeiting, Vechain has seen its blockchain idea expand to insurance, automobiles, luxury goods, and more. And it's being used today - both with physical RFID tags the company has developed, and now in part of a recently announced partnership with BYD to work on a carbon credit system.

EOS (EOS coin) is the codified currency, which ranks 9th on the market cap, with a price of $ 14.49 and a capitalization of $ 9 billion. The company behind EOS has developed a platform that it expects will surpass Ethereum, which will play the role of major global adoption technology in the next few years.

I don't see any projects that will challenge ether for quite some time.

The network effect is pretty strong for them.

I don't expect ether to challenge btc in real terms either for the 1 spot.

Of course if you are just talking coinmarketcap.com then anyone can do anything at anytime .

For now it seems like it's still difficult to change the position of Ethereum. Some other altcoins are still not maximal to change the real situation, Ethereum is still very tough. Even if there is the greatest possibility that its competitors are TRON and NEO, it must also go through a long process. The most important thing is how the current market situation will soon improve and recover.  ???

The project is still young. EOS has chances to become a worthy competitor, but much remains to be done for this. And let's look at this differently - any competition is a big plus for both sides.

For the price maybe there are a lot of coins ready to replace eth, but eth is very famous for its smart contract that being used for ICO, and there are still no alt coin popular enough to replace eth, xrp ever replaced eth for a while bit in the end the eth got back again, from the fame, transaction volume and usage, there is no strong coin yet that able to replace eth for now

but if the ETH is still like this and there is no progress that is really good, I think there will be an altcoin that can replace it.
because what I know is that every altcoin there is a time.

My answer is none. The difference between Ethereum and other altcoins are thousand of miles away. We should never underestimate Ethereum's ability to improve its services to increase the demand.  So far, it is safe to say that there are no coin that can be compared to ETH. Maybe in the upcoming years, some alternate coins will step up.

it seems for IOTA this is a coin that is very capable to replace Ethereum.
and the developing ability possessed by IOTA produces a development that makes it an advanced and valuable coin.
with this I also support the ability for its growth into a major precious coins.

Replacement of ETH is unlikely to be found. It's good that there are such projects that at least slightly begin to step on the heels of the ETH, do not give the team Vitalik relax and make to improve their product only for the better.

EOS is the top candidate but it seems to be short of breath with ETH. ETH is still the king of altcoins now, Vitalik and team are continuing developing and updating Ethereum blockchain so i think ETH will be still  the king in a long time.

I definitely think that TomoCoin is a serious contender to Ethereum. Much faster transaction speed at much less the cost. In the last few weeks, quite a few projects have ported over to TomoCoin. I’m sure we are going to hear a lot more about in in the future.

no one will defeat ethereum until now. You see that there are many technologies that follow ethereum's footsteps, but can't beat in terms of price. that is why even though eth falls sharply none of the altcoins can compete with it. this decline will pass, it's just that the time of growth won't really happen.

Already many projects are leaving ETH and it is losing its weight. It's hard to say specifically who will be the first, but I can say that popularity will be scattered across all platforms and everyone will be fine.

Similar to what happened to Ethereum. It can be used with different new projects as their platform but if the number of fraudulent projects increase with it, it can have the same situation to ethereum now.

Ethereum can be change any coin in crypto feild. I believe that ethereum is really great because is is popularly used as a purchasing or converting some other coin into fiat. Ethereum is really the most amazing coin. One example of altcoin that can be change or convert to ethereum is BCH and RIPLLE.

There is no altcoin that is better than ethereum, in the long term ethereum is going too be the coin that remans in charge for the longest since it is the altcoin with the most amount of investors and usage, there are coins like monero that will prove to be some kind of threat to the coin but that is a privacy coin which has a niche to dominate on its own

I still do not think that any of the Altcoins is a real contender for the replacement of ethereum. Yes, now this coin is already lagging behind some other coins in scalability, however, we expect a lot of good improvements in ethereum, including those that will fundamentally solve the issue of its scalability. Therefore, we need to wait for the time being to compare the Altcoins with each other.
