Title: CryptoAve.Com Adding One More Coin For BTC/USD exchange. Which should it be?
Post by: baritus on March 06, 2014, 12:01:07 AM
Hello,

CryptoAve.Com (https://CryptoAve.Com) is now live and I would like to add one more crypto to the offering. We have both BTC and USD markets, USD account verifications just started today.

Already Offered: DGC/LTC/SRC/ARG/PPC

What coin should it be? Why should it be that one over the rest?

Regards,
Baritus

Please strongly consider adding DigiByte! We feel this would be a perfect fit for DigiByte.

Main DigiByte Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.0

Why use DigiByte?

1) Speed: DigiByte is Blazing fast! Much faster than Bitcoin & Litecoin, and fast enough to buy coffee from a merchant in just a few seconds with the press of a button on a smart phone!

2) Transactional Currency:With 21 billion coins, DigiByte will primarily become a worldwide currency traded for goods & services, and not a volatile speculative commodity like Bitcoin. DigiByte has a natural ratio of 1BTC:1000DGB to Bitcoin. This means that if Bitcoin is worth $1,000 DigiByte should be worth $1 -$10. A Perfect price for buying goods & services. No one likes to look in their wallet and see that they have 0.001 coins; 1,000 DigiBytes are much more appealing.

3) Community: DigiByte was planned and designed for over a month before launch. Since then, the community around DigiByte has continued to grow and contribute to its success.

4) Fair Launch: DigiByte was announced more than 3 days ahead of time. It was delivered at the exact minute advertised with a countdown timer for a fair launch. Over a half million dollars in hardware were thrown at the network in the first few minutes alone.

5) Transparency: The pre-mine of DigiByte is publicly posted and is used to further the long-term success of DigiByte.

6) DigiByte Name: You store data in megabytes & gigabytes. Why not store money in DigiBytes?

Digibyte is a great coin with an active community forming around it, and the development of it was so transparent. This coin is totally legit very glad to see a new coin that is actually worthy of some serious attention.

I would go for a high volume coin with a great community.

Zetacoin is a great coin and their community is doing a lot of good things. I see it as a real up and comer. They have a large development team and I'm sure they would very much appreciate a USD exchange.

I'm also a big fan of Cryptogenic Bullion and Franko.

Otherwise, pick a high volume popular coin to bring more customers to the exchange. Primecoin comes to mind.

The top 5 (unlisted by cave) volume coins on cryptsy are:

AUR/BTC AuroraCoin 1867 BTC  0.09789900 BTC 0.03700000 BTC
DOGE/BTC Dogecoin 981 BTC  0.00001000 BTC 0.00000105 BTC
MINT/BTC MintCoin 207 BTC  0.00000029 BTC 0.00000015 BTC
VTC/BTC VertCoin 96.5 BTC  0.00276296 BTC 0.00229000 BTC
DRK/BTC DarkCoin 93.7 BTC  0.00163900 BTC 0.00143005 BTC

You could also go the hype route to get more attention to the exchange and go with Mazacoin or something else that is currently on fire.

That being said... my pick is for Zetacoin... it's a very nice SHA256 coin

A currency which will aid charities to fund-raise and transfer funds easy and swiftly between themselves and relevant merchants. It be would fantastic if Charities had an exchange such as yours to exchange CharityCoins (CHA) for USD when needed.

Thank you for reading and I hope you will see it in your hearts to help back us and the causes we represent.  :)

or perhaps CryptoGenicBullion - CGB or new Version - V

Please, consider adding CharityCoin. This coin has great potential in helping people around the world. It has a rapidly growing, very motivated team with members from across the globe and it has a genuine goal: Helping the needy.
A CHA/USD exchange would facilitate how people can donate to the charities supported by CharityCoin. As you see, there are many benefits to adding this coin to CryptoAve as it will support great causes and help to expose Crypto Currencies to the masses.

I would add coins of the same generation as DGC in order to avoid massive dumps into the exchange.

CGB - Cryptogenic Bullion
MEC - MegaCoin
ANC - AnonCoin

From the newer ones, DOGE. much community, very visibility on reddit.

CharityCoin has the potential  to change the world and we all can help!

Adding  CharityCoin (CHA) to your exchange will help Crypto Currencies to be seen in a  more positive way. When people see a Coin made to help people, to change and save lives, they will like and give it support. This coin is destined to change the concept of donation.

So please add CharityCoin and help it in helping the world!

microCoin (MRC)

You need a Scrypt-Jane based coin to add to the menu.  Also microCoin is a high number smaller value highly liquid coin that contrasts against the existing coins that are storage (ARG, SRC, PPC) and mid-liquid-value (DGC, LTC).

Here are a few coins I can recommend.

Franko (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202417.0) - One of the oldest coins with a good and active development team.
Ultra Coin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=413978) - A new coin with an algorithm which is different from BTC and LTC. It has got a good support from the community as well.
DigiByte (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.0) - A new and promising coin with active developer and having a great support from the community.
Vertcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404364.0) - A new and promising coin. I think they were the first coin to introduce N-factor scrypt algorithm.

K.

Just to back-up my post:

Cryptsy has trading pairs BTC, LTC and XPM.

XPM is listed on almost all major exchanges.

XPM has services and games, a large user base and strong community.

XPM is unique and doesn't conflict with coins already listed.

XPM is established and has a proven track record

If CryptoAve was to list the latest coins it would have to list more than just one. I think getting the exchange established with the coins that ARE used will make it a success.

K.

A dedicated and active community surrounds this coin. It's pure PoS after the initial mining phase which sets it apart from other coins. 20% interest the first year on coins held over 20 days encourage users to hold their coins long term.

Fastest transactions, PoS and ASIC resistent Scrypt-Jane for PoW.

You need this modern coin!

ASICs secure a network (more power is more secure), why is there such hype about ASIC resistance?

K.

ASIC's centralize mining power.

yeah, i guess that's true, but mining isn't everything. You can invest in a secure coin, and be sure it won't be compromised by over zealous pools and hackers.

Just my thoughts...

Definitely mint ! One of the best communities out there ! It did bring something new to the table ( POW/POS ).
And well the most important fact for any exchange to consider mint is the volume it generates, right now its #6 at coinmarketcap and it was around top10 pretty much since the start.
So well if this is not a good reason then i have no idea what is :)

Without a doubt charity coin (CHA) http://www.charitycoinfoundation.org/

My reasoning is simple:

1. 10% of all coins mined are placed in wallets to fund charitable events.
2. An outstanding dev team who are dedicated to the long term success of the coin

You're looking at a coin that will truly make a difference and can wipe away this "speculate/bubble/greed/panic/crash/crap/clone" typically associated with crypto, and in particular litecoin clones. A coin that can actually make the world a better place and isn't just another speculative vehicle.

Consider for a second the power something like this could have if it took off, become a part of something bigger and support making the world a better place!

The problem with so called charities is they are never really transparent and most of the time receive maybe 1- 2 % of lets say a 20% donation from a person or entity.

Great idea but with all the greed in the world it really is never solid or at least when a fiat currency is used.

So are you suggesting not to bother helping charities because some may be greedy?

Please don't confuse me with someone who is naive, I agree with you that some charities are extremely greedy, some charity CEOs pay themselves multimillion dollar paychecks.

However most Charities and in particular the smaller community charities without the huge marketing budgets are honest, and sincerely try to help people, so please don't tarnish them all with the same brush.

CharityCoin wants to help these smaller charities, not big the corporations that masquerade themselves as charities whilst paying themselves grotesque salaries and spending millions on advertising.

This thread is a great idea!

There are several options to consider imo. If there is only space for one more currency, I really don't have an answer.

1 There are some currencies I find more useful or suited than others mostly because they have been around for a long time and have proved to survive for years.

2 Then, there are some who might create a lot of volume (not a fan of Doge though).

3 Also, there might be some innovative coins out there that may be worth supporting.

1 How about devcoin or namecoin or even ixcoin?

2 MoonCoin (love their space camp idea and even though the coin is only 2 months old it would create dozens if not hundreds of Bitcoins of volume)

3 DataCoin, (???) others that I know too litte of as of now, just too many fish out in the sea these days to check them all out.

Add Darkcoin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.0

Coin Information
DarkCoin aims to be the first privacy-centric cryptographic currency with fully encrypted transactions and anonymous block transactions. These features are a work on progress and will be released in stages in the near future.

DarkCoin uses a new chained hashing algorithm approach, with many new scientific hashing algorithms for the proof-of-work. This is so that the processing distrubution is fair and coins will be destributed in much the same way Bitcoins were originally. ASICs will be much more difficult to make for these algorithms and will take years.

What is the difference between Darkcoin and Zerocoin? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5241291#msg5241291 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5241291#msg5241291)

How does DarkSend anonymize transactions?:

As of version 3 beta, DarkSend is almost completely anonymous.

I suggest every post with a coin suggestion, requires the poster to list their current funds of said coin :)

I vote darkcoin, and I own 0 of them.  Its at least a little different, with active development (and you can still mine it unlike nxt).    No pre-mine should also 100% be a requirement of whichever coin it is.  I think active development/dev team is pretty much the next important piece, and is pretty hard to gauge.  There are lots of nice older/established coins out there, but half of them seem dormant/dead/inactive these days.

CGB?  Haven't heard anything in months

XPM? Awesome new concept at the time, but seems like 0 actual community pushing for anything further to happen with it

How about Bitshares X Baritus?

They're gonna spend several hundred thousand dollars on promotion in the coming months, and with the new website being launched around later this month you'll be set right in the middle of the storm.

If you have any questions let me know. As a long-time investor in your trio of coins, I want this more for the sake of SRC/ARG/DGC than Bitshares X.

Already Offered: DGC/LTC/SRC/ARG/PPC

What coin should it be? Why should it be that one over the rest?

The biggest Bitcoin exchanges offer only a few coins and are hugely successful. Look at BTC-e, or even Vircurex. Not hundreds of worthless shitcoins traded like on cryptsy. I mean hey, there's gotta be an altcoin discounter, but I don't think CAVE wants to become that.

Huntercoin (HUC). Very innovative. Even if it doesn't acquire a large market share, people will be watching it.

We need something innovative or unique. this would be (bear in mind I don't hold any of these):

HunterCoin (Merged Mined, Multi Algo Coin with built in game)
NameCoin (Merged Mined, DNS System)
DataCoin (Data Storage Chain, PrimeCoin Based)
NextCoin (Non Fork of bitcoin, POS Only)
GridCoin (Scrypt Coin with the use of BOINC)

microCoin (MRC)

You need a Scrypt-Jane based coin to add to the menu.  Also microCoin is a high number smaller value highly liquid coin that contrasts against the existing coins that are storage (ARG, SRC, PPC) and mid-liquid-value (DGC, LTC).

My thoughts exactly.

"MintCoin - It's MINT

or perhaps CryptoGenicBullion - CGB or new Version - V

CryptoAve Exchange should have a strong 'Store of Value' based coin."

Thus, microCoin and I guess Ultracoin would also be a good choice.

Now that Mintcoin mining is done and its onto the Minting phase we could see some price increases as the available 'holdings' get bought up.

microCoin is now my main 'scrypt' mining choice, after DGC ofc.  8)

Yep. Both good selections.

I say be totally random and go with new-ish Version - V - Limited Edition SHA-256 Proof of Stake Only 2,500,000

Version Digital Asset - See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=478176.0

CryptoAVE  ;D

Just like DGC and SRC there was NO PREMINE and NO IPO with this crypto commodity and it also has fast block times.

CharityCoin. A coin that will be used solely to fund charities. It will get momentum and introduce Crypto currency to the masses. It has a motivated team behind it and it's very community driven. Cha/USD exchange would be necessary to accept donations  from the non crypto community :)

Vertcoin - VTC, would be an excellent addition to your exchange. It has, as of this writing, the 4th largest following on Reddit, of any crypto coin, and also one of the larger followings on Twitter. So that would increase the exposure of your exchange tremendously. Vertcoin also trades with a very high volume, on all the other exchanges it's on. Which could certainly add to your bottom line.

Title: Re: CryptoAve.Com Adding One More Coin For BTC/USD exchange. Which should it be?

I suggest Vertcoin. All the other coins being suggested here are essentially LTC clones. They have a different release cycle and block time but they're still scrypt coins, and you already support the most successful scrypt coins.

All scrypt coins share the same fatal flaw: there are now ASICs for the algorithm. These scrypt coins are going to go the same route as BTC: soon, they will be run by just a few large pools and companies that had the resources to invest in ASICs. BTC is dangerously close to becoming a centralized currency: GHash.IO controls 27% of the mining network, which, in light of the discovery of selfish mining (0), is dangerously much. The successful scrypt coins are going to follow suit.

Vertcoin is specifically designed to counter this trend. By using Scrypt-Adaptive-Nfactor, ASICs will never be able to take over the mining network, and the currency is much more likely to remain distributed. This is what cryptocurrencies are about.

VTC looks to have great potential moving forward. The ASIC-resistance is a big deal, and having an active development team instills a lot of confidence in the coin's ability to thrive in the face of new obstacles (such as in currently investigating the gravity well exploit).

Just wondering, what is your FINCEN # to trade USD?  Why would I send money to an anonymous site?  You could be a Nigerian prince for all I know.

I don't understand why people would send money to an entity they know nothing about.  Just look at the Mt.Gox, C-Cex and Polo where people lost lots of money on those exchanges.   People were wiped out completely.

Anyone concerned that the owner/developer seems to be involved in a DGC theft of 500,000 coins.

Simply posting the public address of the near $30,000 worth of DGC would 100% clear him, but he won't.

@Cryptmebro

No one stole Baritus coins, he sold his coins for about $30,000 in BTC while soliciting investments from people for his ventures.

He couldn't very well admit to selling them so he came up with this "rogue employee steals my wallet" line of BS. The reason he won't publicly list the addresses is simple, they were sold at Cryptsy and as long as he doesn't openly admit which addresses is his, he can always deny anything we can logically point to as the address.

Basically if you invested in any of Baritus' ventures, you made it possible for him to cash out $30K USD of his coins.

You are a very troubled person.

I cashed out to BTC about $120k worth of the various alt coins I hold while they were highly priced a few months ago, no big deal, I still support the coins.

I still have hundreds of thousands of them left and I'm still a supporter of them for the long term. My plan at the time was to buy more when the price comes down, that was before I got 'Goxxed' though.

If it wasn't for people selling high and building up cash reserves there would be no money left to buy when the price does go down.

If he wanted $30k then he would just sell some of whatever he had, there would be no big secret about it. Nobody would give a shit and there would be no reason to invent a story giving a reason.

Truth.

I'd like to see Vert or DRK.  I hold neither atm but I like Vert for technical reasons, and DRK is going to be heavily used on shiftynet.  It's guaranteed market for that reason. :)

Baritus announced a while ago that CryptoAve will be adding DOGE, DRK, NXT, BC, VRC, XC, MAX and MYR shortly.

They will also be added to the payment processing services once the services are launched.
