So far it does not look like simple scam ... There are 12 FPGAs inside one machine ... If the performance numbers is 40Mh/s lyra2Z , that means each FPGA is only around 3.3Mh/s , quite close to an RX580 ... So it is reasonable performance numbers ...
This hash board does not have any external RAM , so it can only mine core-optimized algorithm ... You have to take the risk if the dev team of these algorithms decide to increase the memory requirement to make this kind of FPGA design a brick for these algorithms ...

I don't see any clear answer about if it's a scam or not ... If you do the numbers analysis , you will know their performance numbers is not that good compare to VCU1525/VU9P CVP-13/VU13P based design ... So not very attractive to me at all ... I think the truth will be clear fairly soon ...

Hi guys, I'm updating this thread with my little testimonial...

In the beginning, I saw this thread but I totally skipped it because it didn't sound professional...
When my friend received the miner I was really impressed, so after thinking a lot, I decided to risk 2500$ and I bought the miner;
choosing, for now, the hosting option (after having seen that the miner exists, at anytime I can ask them to ship the miner to my house).

I was really happy to see that this was not a scam project or whatever, soon as my order was confirmed the miner was waiting for a pool. So, I  chose a pool and I setted up my wallet.

After mining for hours I can say:

The miner is correctly delivering the hashrate to the pool and no downtime has happened for me so far.

I also decided to join discord and took the opportunity to talk with the various admin this project has, I was really happy to see they were totally available to the various questions I did.

So far, so good.

If you can access the F1 miner at some "remote" location by internet, you can update new bitstream/algo.
 
For example，your miner is runing at a farm, and you operate the miner in your home. You can put a PC in the farm ,connect to the same LAN as the miner. And use a direct access software like "teamviewer", then you can operate the miner at your home, include update bitstreams

Lyra2rev2 is supported by ASIC miner now, so we stop optimize this algorithm

I'm happy for this miner...  working well... there are a lot of algo... new algo out about 2/4 weeks.... community working well, dev working hard... is all ok.... but there is a problem.... ROI... the actual daily profit for this miner is about 1/2/3.. USD day depending to the algo.. the cost of this miner is 2000 usd ( classic F1, no F1 + , no F1 single blade ). 24 months for hypotetical ROI.... i think that the actual cost of this miner is too hight.... i don't know if is i possible to reduce the price... but the actual cost/roi for me is not good.

How strong is the difference in stability of heating and electricity consumption with the previous options-Mini and F1 ?

This fpga miner looks awesome. But i couldn't understand what the algo 7 is:) It is shown as most profitable one on their site but there is no info.

Algo 7 = Secret algo, only if you purchase this miner you have the info about this.

Does this go for their mini-units also? Or just the bigger units?

Thinking of getting a smaller unit (Under $200 range) for a toy to play with different algos on such.

Also to get a variety of wallets on the various cryptos (paper) as a project to get motivated to maybe speculate some on the coins. (Such $$$ will come from attic sales

I ended up buying the older F1, why?

The F1+ was $2199 + $240 in shipping, so $2439.  The older F1 was $1,350 with free shipping.  The older F1 I could run with a spare HP server power supply I have, the F1+ I’d have to buy a $200 or so 1300w PSU, so close to $2,700, so 2x the price for not 2x the hash power.  Leaves me enough in pocket for other gear or a future update to the F1+, if and when it comes out.  Power usage was similar when evaluating efficiency, but when calculating efficiency along with price efficiency, the F1 won out for me.

Been running an F1 Mini for 3 months 24/7 no issues at all.

How many 6pins are needed for the f1 total to boot and run?

Thats assuring to me that the F1+ is improved but my hopes is that the F1 is still a viable option for the price.  Having the lower cost allows me to evaluate whether a future F1+ or updated mode is in the plans for me personally with a much lower financial commitment and will allow me to either put the extra funds into a F1+, whether hosted or at home, invest in more GPU rigs, or just keep it in pocket.

I’m wondering if noise wise, is there a difference between the two?  Or is the noise attributed to the fan on the unit which is relatively the same dB wise?
