Title: Dear Source Merits!
Post by: erikoy on September 17, 2018, 10:04:20 AM
Dear Source Merits,

             Good Day!

I saw the new updates of the rank this day promulgated by theymos one of the Global Moderator here in the forum. It seems like there are so many jr. members being demoted to newbie since they were not able to get even 1 merit like me. I do believe that theymos is just doing this for the good of the forum. I had observe also that there are so many jr. members here spamming everywhere in the discussions. We have one thing in common and that we could receive in those who are running the bounty campaign program a reward. It is indeed a good time having here in the Bitcointalk forum from February 2, 2018 up to present by its ups and down, from the success and the failures and to the confusing time knowing what to do on the coins received from the bounty campaign.

Ever since i joined the forum i did not get any merit/s and i did not even ask for it also that someone might give me one. I admit that i spam on this forum for complying the bounty signature campaign requirements to get a weekly stakes from the program. I did not even completely read those important details about the forum in meta, the beginners and help and other sections related to the forum. By then, I was only doing scan reading on the rules and regulations and highlighted only on those parts that are important and avoid doing those highly offensive type of violations. Which means i violate some of the rules and regulations. I sometimes do the trolling since there are some comments and threads that are useless and needs to get a real good bump to self reflect and realization of that said member. Well that was the fun part of having here in the forum after having some high blood pressure on reading so many threads and comments.

And now i dream about ranking up to jr. member to finish what i had started here since as what i have stated earlier that i am enjoying the stay on this forum. I have known some good men here like JetCash, Piggy,  Hilariousandco, theymos and even the profile of Satoshi Nakamoto BCT account after reading his giveaway thread in the forum. I envy them since they are already successful here.

I would like to tell on those merit source that there are investors and at the same time bounty hunter members here in the forum. Since bitcoin/cryptocurrency is the vehicle and we run it, then look after those individuals and should examine them and probably give them merits if they are bitcoin or cryptocurrency investors. In this way the participation for the bitcoin market price rally would be at a greater chance for we give those bounty hunters/investors the encourage to invest more and participate in this forum after receiving merit. This message is really up to you to turn the coin from one side to the other side.

Respectfully yours,

erikoy

PS. I am not good in english I edited some parts of this letter!

I'm one of them who get demoted and currently on a signature campaign which is tough since I have already reached the minimum amount of posts. It is really hard to get that merit especially this time because of the changing rules in this forum but I do understand that it is for the good of the everyone and to prevent any unwanted actions from its members. I'm still hoping I could get that merit in a deserving time.

This is the whole problem buddy. People posting trying to reach the minimum amount of posts to benefit from the signature rewards, instead of contributing to the forum. And this is exactly the reason this new system was introduced.

Dear Sour Merit,

I joined BTT several time to learn about Bitcoin technology and cryptocurrency. I also write some thread and comment on many threads too. But because of limited knowledge, I still not have quality posts. So, I always learn day by day to improve my knowledge and improve myself too.

Hope I can help many people in the future

A comment at a thread, I am not sure it true or not: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4934272.msg45829834#msg45829834

Have a good day!!!

I just take this opportunity to someone who will take look on my post/s and give me a shot. I love this community as I keep learning this technology and I am not a virus that can bring down this community.
All your posts are short, garbage shitposts and your English isn't good.  Don't know what to tell you except what I see.

Dear Sour Merit,
*sigh*

You're one that's going on ignore.

I had the same feelings with the OP before and made mistakes even at this time and when i'm still junior member. I did laugh at my post history when I check my history because some of my old posts are shitpost/spam and some of my posts are mistyped but as time pass I tried to improve myself before improving my posting habit with the guide of my friend theyoungmillionaire (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1180530) here in bitcointalk like taking a lesson same as jet cash for helping members in fittotalk forum. I hope the changes in the forum will surely force the members to post high quality post this time.

The crypto economy is also an important part of this forum.. Or this forum is also an important part of the crypto economy?
A lot of people are very concentrated on stopping spam but I think the health of the economy must be considered when deciding what to do to mitigate spam..

For example, it is the opinion of some that signature campaigns should be banned entirely..
That for sure would stop a lot of spam but man that would be a whole lot of flowing money stopped dead in its tracks..
How many people got their first crypto to play with from signature campaigns? How much have they contributed to the adoption of cryptocurrency as a whole?

Bounties?
I bet a lot of people would like to kick bounties right off the forum, but look at all those people using cryptocurrencies, learning to use crypto, earning, trading, and selling crypo..
It's a whole lot of money moving in the GDP of crypto, and a whole lot of users that would probably have never owned a satoshi otherwise..

Dear merit sources,

I don’t think it’s all about English. Yeah. Certainly not about the number of hours spent on btt. But why should I talk about merit when I don’t have any? Probably because I would some time.

It’s all about time. Wait and enjoy the forum still someone feels you’re making some impact.

Have a good day!!!
I came to visit this post and was surprise by this post that got merit. It is good to acknowledge one's weakness and that you prove it here by in your post. However, it is good to do diligence on editing words that may be spelled out incorrectly. The word "source" and "sour" has different meaning so if one will going to interpret "Dear Sour Merit" then it is another story. I thought I am the only member here whose English is worst but there could be many here also.

Anyway, buddy hope you will be doing fine on what business you have been doing here in the forum.

You're one that's going on ignore.

I put tunglong on ignore as well for giving him a merit. I don't want to award merits to the bounty hunting community.

We are under no obligation to  hand out merits to ICO/bitcoin investors on the forum simply to continue investing in such projects and handing them merits wouldn't be of help in anyway to the community

Investing in the bitcoin or any alt has nothing to do with the forum nor merits
The forum is simply an organized community for cryptocurrency discussions in order to garner invaluable knowledge that'll assist one in investing
While merits are handed out for valuable contributions here on the forum..

If an investor is contributing on the forum, just as many are(most of our high rankees are all bitcoin investors),definitely they'll earn merits without breaking a sweat

The community isn't searching for users, neither does it treat any particular user preferentially..

Quality beats quantity anyday/anytime

Your Post was Nice. The English was Not that Bad But its wonderful.
I must say it is Very Hard for Newbies here to clearly Understand what this Forum is ALL about. majority of them got banned unfortunately due to Nefarious activities. A close friend of Mine was once a victim and i paid close attention to avoid loosing everything i worked for. some tings are good to follow and observe rules and regulations. slowly they say wins a race.
For the friends aspect, i must say that Theymos is a no nonsense cool guy. No time to Play around.
I must say that there are thousands of wonderful and good post and comments in this forum and it is Very very hard for all to get Merited. kudos to all generous Merit source that take there time to hand out merits to the community.

You have such a good statement and deserves a merit!!! (but I don't have enough merits to give so i'm really sorry [peace  :P] ) but I really agree of what you have been stated above and it is a great encouragement to everyone of us and also to those who is doing their best to provide such useful topics to be able to get rewarded with merits. I really support everyone who keep this thread clean and make a good topics and replies even me always do my very best to comply with such valuable required topics and replies to be able to contribute fully and professionally in this forum (I am not making myself clean because I admit as you can see in my post almost 85% of my post are bounty spam and i'm not worthy of anything I just want to express my opinions) . I just want to add regarding with my opinion on BOUNTY SPAMS: We cannot remove or get rid totally of the bounty spams because this has been contributing a 30 to 40% traffic in this forum (percentage is only just my opinion) and that is one of the reason why there are so many contributors and new registrants in this forum and to get it short MONEY IS EVERYTHING. That is one of the biggest reason why everyone is here (but not all). Yes we can say that most of the merit donors only look with the post history of every user before they gave a merit to avoid waste of merits (i fully respect that) but what about those full of bounty spams but contributes a good topics and replies to those threads that helps a lot to every user they really deserves a merit and if i'm full of merits to donate in the future (hoping  ;D ) I really want to help those helpful users who contribute in this forum. They deserve it ! :) But everything is just my opinion I don't hit someone or referring to someone. I just want to express my opinions and enjoy my stay here in this forum ! ^_^

This forum is one of my home (also telegram  ;D) because this is one of the place I can socialize and create topics with someone or somebody (I am not good in socialization in the real world because i'm a little more shy) ! Thanks alot !

Dear merit source

It's high time I also admit to my errors and also state how I have wronged the forum in search for gaining in bounty hunting campaign. Have come to realize that providing health post and reply is not only helpful to the community but also to me and to build myself in the cryptocurrency world.

I was wrongfully advice I came in here thinking it was only bounty hunting (signature campaign) that's the core value of this forum but the new Ranking system got me sober and I took time to reflect and change my perspective about the forum and I must say I had not only done the forum wrong but also myself. Reading post attentively now had enlighten me on topic I knew nothing about.
This has been the best moment for me since I joined the community I can't wait everyday to login the forum has been very interesting to me.
