Title: NXT (you're moving too fast to comprehend! )
Post by: williamevanl on March 06, 2014, 04:55:24 AM
NXT, wow! what a community you've got going. I have to ask; is there a central Hub of information that I can access to stay on top of as many projects as possible? Some say that software frameworks live or die by their documentation. There are so many projects running in parallel that's it's becoming increasingly difficult to follow them all.

If I were a developer and I wanted to get involved (in say the de-centralized exchange, colored coins, currencies built on NXT, etc.. ) where would I go. I know exposure is important but if there's some budget NXT floating around please do us all a favor and create some organized way for everyone to not only get involved but also follow the progress of current projects. It seems the best we have now is chasing random thread on bitcointalk.org on various topics.

I know things move fast but there's so much going on that it would benefit everyone if we could get some running documentation going for all of these projects. Example's of functionality, impediments whatever. We need more transparency into all of these projects.

This is the drawback to our decentralized nature.  The main thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.0) has a lot of useful information and current updates.  There is a daily summary of the NXT thread here: http://www.nxtcoins.nl/50-2/ (http://www.nxtcoins.nl/50-2/)

Here are some other places you can find updated information on NXT.

Websites - nxtcrypto.org (http://nxtcrypto.org), mynxt.org (http://mynxt.org)
Wiki - wiki.nxtcrypto.org (http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org)
Forums - forums.nxtcrypto.org (http://forums.nxtcrypto.org), nextcoin.org (http://nextcoin.org)
News / Info - info.nxtcrypto.org (http://info.nxtcrypto.org)

If you need help or information, feel free to ask in the main NXT thread and someone will answer your question.

I totally agree with the OP. NXT has such a nice community working everyday but it is really hard to follow all the developments!

what may be happening (re price) is that all the extras nxt offers like etheiruim and coloured coins and master coin, are either ahead of what is needed, or actually a bundle of switches, which can will get cheaper to operated every year to opererate.

the real distributed exchange will be the game changer, the one where banks don't know you are sending and recieving from the distributed exchange.

the questions of the moment are mining tax effect good or bad, and initial distribution. bitcoin suffers from the former and nxt from the latter even if it is just a uniformed view thats view is prevalent.

Peercoin and maybe NEM could hold the real future, BTC will likely fork to Peercoin POS+POW within 10 years.

Nxt is getting too complex for the general public. I was a big fan of it, but there is no central developing leadership.

And, there are so many clients/websites, that i'm afraid to use any, besides the basic java of fear of getting my data stolen. I'm mostly likely part of the majority on this thought.

Hope your reading this devs, because if you want Nxt to reach levels of aurora coin, then you should be taking control of the project.

Otherwise, i hope NEM surpasses NXT.

Wesley's new NXT web client (http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/) is going to be integrated into the NRS code.  This client will offer all the functionality you need to take advantage of all of NXT's features.

Currently, we are voting on committee members and assembling a dev team.  The committees will be formed on March 8th.

Sounds great, my retorhic was a little harsh. I haven't been keeping up with any updates or coins here on BCT.

What NXT really needs is some massive exposure to the masses.

We're working on that.  NXT had representatives at the Texas Bitcoin Conference and we will be represented at Coinsumm.it (http://Coinsumm.it) in San Francisco on March 25th-26th.

Here are some pictures of NXT at the Texas Bitcoin Conference.
