Title: What is happening to Bitcoin?
Post by: dewildance on September 19, 2018, 07:46:10 PM
Today we have saw 2 type Bitcoin movements! Firstly Bitcoin price has fallen with quickly to 6100$. And then everything is changed and jump to 6500$ with speed. What is going on with BTC?

I think these are normal market fluctuations. Maybe there was some big news we missed.

That's why you call price fluctuations. I'm sure that this is not the first time that we have witnessed this trend, Also if you go around the forum, there is this theory that investors won't let bitcoin go below $6K because its like the cost for miners to continue do their thing. If he price goes below, there's no more incentive for them to mine. Or perhaps someone is setting a bull trap again, especially for noobs and casuals traders out there so be careful. I'm not totally sold of bitcoin getting into a bull run zone.

Probably price manipulation on Bitfinex again, it is super suspicious how BFX always seems to be the first to move when this type of thing happens, probably whales messing with us mere fish again :(

$300 - $400 is about a 4% growth in the value of bitcoin. And such fluctuations are normal in cryptocurrency.
We have seen sharper drops and rises in lesser time.
Bitcoin as a currency is less subsceptible to manipulations. Unlike some lower coins with little volume.

Well the price looked like it was going to fall to 5K so someone(or more likely a group) decided to manipulate the market to make it look like the price might be going the other way.

Mid term you'd have to bet on it going down.
Short term you might as will toss a coin.
Very long term put your money in tulips

These are just minor market reactions to trading. I say minor because there
have been bigger movements as we all know.

Its strange for the OP to ask this question, a quick view of the bitcoin charts
would reveal all sorts of movements.

You are right the bitcoin price changing everyday so fast. But if you take closer look the Bitcoin stayed strong in this summer holiday while all the altcoins loose. So if you believe in cryptocurrency you have to trust in Bitcoin. But remember every business has their own risks and cryptocurrency too..

This ain't a big change. Calm down! Its just a price rise by 400$ which is pretty common and people should be knowing that by now. What else does the term "volatility" mean then?

The change probably is due to some movements from one cryptocoin market to another, or a minimalistic dump.

Probably price manipulation on Bitfinex again
This guy gets it. Blatant manipulation in the prices is all we've experiencing over the past few weeks. It seems like today there was a big battle and bulls came out as the winners as the price quickly went about $300 and it's currently sitting at 6450 at the moment of this post.

I wouldn't be so worried about such swings in the price, as long we don't go below the support levels, we should be fine before the next pump (it may or may not occur) before the hype for the Bitcoin ETF starts towards the end of the month. All in all, such movements happen almost on a daily basis, nothing new to discuss.

Nothing unusual or a mystery. What can we expect if it came from the bottom? it will increase normally and fluctuations are essentials for bitcoin so if you're surprised with this movement then you'll be more surprised if the market jumps high again.

This is as a result of fluctuations in the market which are normal... Hopefully it will change for the best
It won't change, fluctuations will have its normal state. What we need is this should keep going positively.

In my views,  btc has been steady at this level (6.2k-6.5k) and most likely it's correction may still  be extended for several weeks from now.  I believe that sooner or later,  btc will make a rally within the year surpassing the existing market value.  Moreover,  people should hold still and wait btc to spike up again where I think it's worth for the wait.

I think it's normal in the decline and a little is happening right now, because it's still in the process of manipulating the big whales, so don't worry about price changes like that, just keep holding it, and follow the market's flow, there will be an increase strong

Nothing, it just a normal market cycle. Those kinds of volatility are normal in the cryptocurrencies space. I don't think there is something to worry about. It just probably means bitcoin hold those support position, nothing else.

Changing around 5% within an hour or two is nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to cryptocurrencies, volatility is pretty much part of the package and should be expected. When you start seeing significant drops very quickly (over 15% or so), then you might want to ask questions about wtf is happening.

Exactly mate, market volatility is particularly transpire on crypto world. We must be aware in this scenario that may contour our emotions on evading panic selling. All we have to do is to hold our coins even it take more long years and the assurances for us on holding is the great maddive profits. And I will assure who trust bitcoin progression is that bitcoin will always stand as king of all currencies and strongly stand its position.

Totally normal for Bitcoin's price to have a $300-400 swing in a day. That's volatility for you. More than that, you can use the erratic price movements to your advantage and make a few hundred in a matter of hours.

It was a bit out of ordinary because shorts went sky high around the time bitcoin fell below 6218 area. Of course traders who shorted waited for this area. What is interesting though, what pushed the price back up? Because shorts were pushed away after the incident?

Market price movements are now made into chaos so that those who hold bitcoin are panicking there are those who use this opportunity by investing there are also some people or investors trying to sell assets they have because they fear that bitcoin will fall more than $ 6500 if we believe in bitcoin then we already know the risk we take is like a price that is not so stable.

The current situation does make us often frightened and frantic, the bear's game seems thrilling. Think positively to keep holding and waiting for a good chance to be taken.
Monitoring the market situation does have to be done in order to get that good opportunity.

bitcoin is experiencing a drastic decline in market prices. but it's natural that is called business. because bitcoin is also flucfuative. which can go up and down quickly.

It's just a whale's adjustment. You should not be so worried about Bitcoin's fluctuations. That is very normal in this market. If you are still investing in Bitcoin, the sincere advice is to hold on to the long term. Blockchain technology will soon be widely used throughout the world. ;D

Yes, that is true, in my opinion, the price movement of Bitcoin depends on the ongoing trade by traders in the Bitcoin market, so prices move down and up. if the current case is why Bitcoin is so fast going down and then returning quickly? that's because I say it's normal. so there's no need to worry about such circumstances.

I think it is very normal to bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, that is a simple rule of the market when 'sharks' start buying or selling. They make people panic and sell bitcoin with cheap price and buy it, then sell at higher price.

Bitcoin prices change every day very quickly. but if you look closely and carefully, Bitcoin stays strong. So if you believe in cryptocurrency you also have to believe in Bitcoin. But keep in mind every business has risks and cryptocurrency and also bitcoin have risks.

I think the surge in bitcoin is because there is news from British countries that legalize bitcoin immediately.
The impact is good for the development of the next bitcoin, the market will gradually improve and get a place in developed countries.

first of all from $6300 to $6100 then to $6500 is not a big change. it is only a fluctuations of about 3% rise and fall in either direction. and percentage is important not the size so when you look at the numbers try to calculate the percentage.
secondly the bitcoin market is still small as i always say, a medium sum of money can suddenly change the price a lot. sometimes manipulators use this to cause panic. like the dump that you just saw to $6100 but it is not always going to be effective as there is a whole market that can go against them like the jump back ups that we keep seeing.

I think it's normal for bitcoin to run from $ 6100 to $ 6500 in a few hours, because there are many factors that occur from the price hike, one of which is traders who always make a price for profit and investors who always keep the price so that bitcoin isn't too slumped and the miners who really did not want bitcoin fell free from their basic prices and calculations.

We can see this kind of scenarios until etf decision is made in the last day of this month some are accumulating good amounts of bitcoin by manipulating this markets its all about money once etf has been decided approved or failed, market will surely response either up or new downs.

It's only a price increase of 400 $ that is quite common for fluctuations in Bitcoin prices, but the movement is so fast, But if you look closely, Bitcoin increases so strongly unlike Altcoin. So if you believe in cryptocurrency you must believe in Bitcoin. But remember every investment has a risk.

Those two price points are the same boundaries in play for a while and previously also to the last spike it was in the this range anyway.   All that happened to today was a sharper movement within a smaller time but still within normal range.

I think it related partly to news of a centralised exchange in Japan being compromised and then some kind of interaction with shorts and these shorts got closed out by buyers at support.  Overall the range is quite strict.

Here is a chart of volatility for BTC longer term:
https://i.imgur.com/bWvSmAI.jpg

So according to this BTC now September 2018 is as quiet as before Summer 2017

This proves that bitcoin volatility is high, there are large investors that make prices rise so fast and even a large decline occurs. This is a natural thing in the market.

In my opinion, what's going on with BTC market is totally proving the unpredictability of its movement. The volatility will always stay as long as there's no regulations. Those people questioning these type of fluctuations are probably new to cryptosphere. Learn from it and you should study the indicators well such as volume, MACD, RSI, etc.

Its not at all a surprising moment. Bitcoin can fall to any extent and can even rise to any extent. Its the nature of bitcoin. Bitcoin is highly volatile and it will keep on fluctuating every single day, rather every single moment. Now 1btc=$6393. So don't worry about these small movements in the price of bitcoin, just wait for $20k ;D :D.

We are still in the correction stage and, in my opinion, it might last a few more years.
A few more years of bear market? That's highly unlikely with how we're moving forward technically and also based on the events that we have to go through. The block halving is the most important factor.

The block halving is pretty much the only event that's guaranteed to take place, and it has also proven to lift the market up far before the halving actually kicks in. In other words, I'm more confident about the market than you are.

Obviously, that doesn't mean the price can't go down in the coming months, but we're not endlessly going down. The process that takes the most time is the run-up to the actual all time high, but that's a concern for later.

Reaching $10,000 within 12 months from now is what I consider to be an all time high, based on normal demand.

Bitcoin is bit stable between  $6200 to $6300 which shows fluctuation is in very less number. Also price of bitcoin is not going down under $6000 which gives positive result for the coin and hoping the best days to come ahead for investors who invested large amount in bitcoin....
