Title: Bitmain announces a new 7nm mining chip - BM1391

Well just when people think bitmain is down and out they seem to pull another rabbit out of their hat. Lab tests show 42 j/gh...if they can bring it to market around 50 j/gh then once again noone will be able to touch them.

Edit: I put this in speculation since the hardware hasnt been released or shown to actually exist. Didnt see the topic in the hardware section already. Mods can remove if necessary.

What’s the typical turn around time from chip to machine?

For reference, the S9i chips are 99 J/TH (13TH/s batch), 97 J/TH (13.5TH/s batch), 94 J/TH (14TH/s batch), 94.14 J/TH (14.5TH/s batch).

This means its about double the efficiency of an S9i.

Well anything less and they would be last out of the gate. Not to mention they still have to build the machine around the chip, while trying not to use to much power cooling.

With this at least they can try and throw money at the problem to speed up production and try to launch something by the end of the year.
