Perhaps you have discovered a piece of ice from the iceberg.
If it is limited to Potato18, he has two sMerits, so it will not represent a significant abuse of the system "theymos can delete it", but that account received merits from "WhiteShum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=61208)" and "vitruvio (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=64734)" [tagged for probable merit abuse or Abusing bounty with alt accounts]

Maybe removing the airdrop sMerits will solve this problem.

As I've said before, I'm not really worried about it. Especially at those high prices (plus the risk of being red-tagged), it's enough of a barrier that it should still serve its intended function of creating a significant cost/barrier for garbage-posters.

BTW, if any merit source goes rogue and sells a ton of merit, then I will probably go through the transaction graph and undo all of the transactions touched by that sold source-merit. Merit ain't no immutable cryptocurrency!

Whiteshum seems to have a lot of high rank accounts, the accusation was here if we want to do a deeper investigation

Is this Legenday the main account of those abusers? 1 alt also missing red tag  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4695252.msg42379507#msg42379507)

What's bad in selling merit? If all legendary are very greedy, what do that become jr. member? Also people take part in bounties and really need to be jr. member.

Merits needs to be earned,if someone caught for selling are buying they need to be punished for abusing the merit system. If you care about participating on bounties you need to make atleast one good posts which can be useful for others, that isn't hard job :o

If it isn't hard job, why don't you created useful topics? You got merit for a random post and you couldn't earn merit, you just only register in November. Then how can you learn how to get merit?  ;D ;D

I am not kind of person whose intention is not to make meritable posts,if someone thinks my posts is worthy to merit then they merited it,that's it.If you are concer about merits you need to make that type of topics! :P

Legendary members are not merit sources (exclusive bijection). Merit sources have no reason to keep merit to themselves.

Also people take part in bounties and really need to be jr. member.
People take part in bounties. True. People don't need to be Jr. Member. Don't act like having the means to participate in a bounty is a right given to you. Act less entitled and realize that the goal of the forum is not to shitpost for pointless tokens, but rather for the discussion of bitcoin and (to a lesser extent) other elements of the cryptospace.

It's really not good news. The change in the rules had good intentions, but it was obvious that some people woul be ready do sell merit and for others it would be easier to buy it rather then earn.

If the OP don't mind I will add another user that sells the 500 (!) merits.

Гoтoв пpoдaть мepиты, в нaличии 500 штyк. Ecть вce пpyфы c дoвoльными клиeнтaми, вce пpeдocтaвляю. Пo цeнe дoгoвopимcя, пиcaть в тeлeгpaм - @petrlinkov.

Tagged, though the main account most likely won't be found.

Also, the problem with trying to find out who the merit-sending account belongs to is that we can't exactly antagonize anyone who uses the telegram ID since that creates a precedent... which leads to the possibility of falsely-convicted innocents.

It could be the same dealer.
dedmaxim (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2332694) uses the telegram @petrlinkov as dvorianin02 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2283644) who received 1 merit from Potato18 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1607069), tagged for the selling merit.

dvorianin02 has wrote two weeks ago that he and his parther have 16 accounts.

Пpивeт, пo пoвoдy пocтoв:

This guy does not just sell merits. he is a crook and stealing money. In order to calculate his main account, I asked him to write to me from the forum. He refused at first, but I said that it was necessary to me a lot of Merit and he, submitting big money, still succumbed to my persuasion. Here is his member. so please take action to him.
