Title: Upcoming on 1 year since account was hacked and submitted information to staff Post by: vagnavs2 on September 23, 2018, 10:55:54 PM Hello,
in October, it will be approximately 1 year since my account was hacked. I was legendary status.. A member since 2012 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=48852 I used to stop by and to try the help community from scams and other answers. But I have abandoned the site as basically, my identity is gone.. I have submitted the requested information to both Cyrus & theymos. But have not heard a thing. Maybe someday I will get the account back but the odds appear to be slim to none. With that said, any help would be greatly appreciated! As far as I know, if your profile has a bitcoin wallet, then you can recover your account. Here's a manual in Russian, use translator https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2823541.0 Here's another topic on the subject of hijacking the forum account https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2168490.0 And here's the theme from admin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 Here's an interesting discussion on the subject of account recovery, I Think would be useful https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2686885.0 Title: Re: Upcoming on 1 year since account was hacked and submitted information to staff Post by: vagnavs2 on September 25, 2018, 12:56:00 AM thanks for the reply, but I have followed the instructions and sent the details to the admins. Step-by-step and in the format they wanted.
this seems to be coming more of the norm. Many people have had their accounts hacked and are locked out now. I should have contacted the hacker and see how much he wanted.. For a start, addresses in profiles aren't accepted, but accounts just aren't getting recovered regardless if you have all the correct data or not so the info you provided is useless. I seriously wish I could demerit posts sometimes. Speaking of being new and hacked accounts, why is there a huge gap in your posts from January 09, 2015 to June 16, 2018. Can you sign a message to prove ownership? Title: Re: Upcoming on 1 year since account was hacked and submitted information to staff Post by: xha-256 on September 25, 2018, 03:19:16 AM I've seen/read too many request to recover their account in this board and this example is the worst for almost a year without being recovered and noticed by the admins.
Theymos said he's working on an automatic recovery tool that should be ready before the end of the year so you'll likely have to wait for that Hope it will not reached until 2020 :-\Only if the admin can implement even at least a confirmation email/message once a person change the account's password or email. Most probably it will lessen the numbers of hacked accounts. I did post shortly after January 09, 2015.. Yes I can sign a message and verify it proving I'm the owner of the account.. I have sent the details to those listed for recovery. I will try to get to that shortlyI see that you have a bitcoin address in your profile? As far as I know, if your profile has a bitcoin wallet, then you can recover your account.
