Title: Translator who deceives projects and makes translations only google translate! Post by: starkovblue on September 24, 2018, 10:46:04 AM Recently, there have been cases when translators use google translate without knowing a single word in the language to which they translate the text.
When there is a small translation problem is not so scary. But when im as a native speaker (in this case Hebrew) im enter to such a "translation" of the text in the topic, im understand that a person did not even bother to check the text. "Translator Profile"- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1259301 His great "WORKS"- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4984431.msg46103477#msg46103477 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5036570.msg46103097#msg46103097 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5036570.msg46102683#msg46102683 And many more! I think that it is necessary to warn managers of companies that this person does not do his job. In this case, violates the requirement to know the language to which it translates the text that is required and do not use only google translation! I've informed many BM without receiving any response, some of them even said that it is okay as the translation is not 100% the same as GT results. That's shocking and hilarious. Another reason it is hard for others, especially who aren't fluent in the language of the translation to believe it was GT result is because the translator paraphrase the result. Those scammers are pretty smart in scamming people.

According to our situation, im talked to Mani ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=5776 ) on the Hebrew forum and he deleted his branches. I'm assuming he's the moderator right? We can't do much about his previous translations, but at least he won't be able to scam others easily like before. Might as well ban him, using translations tools is against the forum rules AFAIK. Title: Re: Translator who deceives projects and makes translations only google translate! I think the best course of action in dealing with these Google translator users (or any automated translators) is to gather proof and report them by making a thread about it here in reputation section; Then, DT's can tag them accordingly and they will no longer be able to participate on any translation campaign. Because if you will only inform the bounty manager about it, chances are, they will not believe you or would just ignore the information you shared. Kudos OP for sharing this info. |
