Thanks for the chart. The best thing to do is to hold on to your bitcoin with the belief that the price will definitely rise one day. Selling your bitcoin cheap or at a loss is like throwing it away and you have not lost anything until you decide to sell it at a loss. Bitcoin has died several times and yet waxing strong.

I'd like to remind you that in 2010 or 11 almost nobody saw it as an investment. If you were mining at the time or farming giveaways and faucets you weren't doing it to hold for another 5 years in hope that it will be worth 100 times more. That early rise in value was caused by it becoming known. We can't even say that it was becoming popular. Most people who own bitcoin now didn't know of its existence in 2012 as there was almost no media coverage.

My favorite by far, noobs and trolls will always be around so I doubt it's ever going to stop.

when people call bitcoin dead and are insistent about it so much that every time you see them they are talking about bitcoin and how it is bad, dead,... that just shows they are accumulating more bitcoin at cheaper prices because they already know it. otherwise why would they even talk about something they (apparently) hate so much nonstop?

Yes it is true that bitcoin show a huge growth and development in the past and it is clear that crypto users are increasing day by day so it is the fact that shows the people interest and holding it over a long time. Bitcoin is an outstanding asset which is using for exchange as well and in these days bitcoin is very active in the market and it is fact that we should adopt this for use in future.

Not necessary at all. I will not make an effort to prove them wrong. If they come up into that conclusion from whatever kind of reason, whether it's just their natural perception or creating FUD to drop the price, then so be it. As long as all of us can see that btc is beating, that's already enough for them to realized the truth.

That doesn't really prove that Bitcoin isn't dead though. I mean, the natural order of things is to live until they die. They can simply say that this chart shows Bitcoin "living", and that it's going to die at some point in the future either way. It's just like trends continuing until they don't.

But yeah, not that whatever argument they're using can prove that Bitcoin is dead either, because every single one has fallen flat on its face so far. It's ultimately pointless to argue with people who will only believe what they want to believe, so whatever they say lol.

Plus OP, the price should not be the only foundation for Bitcoin "having life". Continued development, good design decisions, and community and network growth are more important than price in my opinion.

It's a good sign but still, we need to hold our horses. No one can predict the movements of the market. I am not a pessimist. I am also hoping for the upward trend within the next 12 months but it is best to not expect too much. Hope but don't expect.

many people whine that bitcoin is falling that they are losing their money but no one sees the possibility that now is a good time to invest in bitcoin and other currencies so long as they are not that expensive

Oh, what a nice answer for them who say it (Dead). Actually the "dead" word now like hand wash, we use it but we don't need it for a long time. We use it only for a few seconds to wash our hand but no need for a long time.

no offense but YOU are worst that those who are calling bitcoin dead because what they do is that they are either expressing their opinion or have some agenda against bitcoin. but YOU are killing bitcoin with your own hand as you are advertising bitcoin as something that only gains value and gives you profit whereas profit (price of bitcoin) should be the last thing that you mention to someone else when you talk about altcoin and it should certainly be the last reason why YOU are involved with bitcoin.

Nice graph you got there. For some who are disappointed necause they do not really understood how volatile bitcoin is, this graph is a proof that patience is a must because at the end of the unstable market, the price of bitcoin is really increasing.

For me, the graph does not show anything to me other than that, that is the price we are now. It does not further explain anything. It does not have any piercing words to the future that will debunk the "death" rumours.

The graphic shows very well why i am relaxed at the current Bitcoin price. In the end the price has always risen and i think it will go on like this for the next years, but I don't want to make any predictions here, because I don't know the future either. If someone says here, Bitcoin is dead, i stay calm. I have just heard this statement too often and it was never true. Bitcoin is still alive and it will probably stay that way for a long time to come. Hopefully people will stop saying at some point that Bitcoin is dead just because the price has dropped. It's just annoying. Nobody writes, Apple dies just because the share has dropped from the price.  ;)

That's what I've been saying though. The history tells that Bitcoin's price has always continued to rise despite all this dumps every year. It always makes a comeback. All those FUD saying that Bitcoin is dead is just another way to scare off those investors. Thank you for this graph.

It's better to stay calm if you hear negative words like that, and hold on to your bitcoin in the belief that the price will definitely go up one day. Selling bitcoin is only because negative words like that are like you are throwing away the opportunity to become a billionaire and you will certainly suffer losses if you sell it now.

This graph indicates many things. We can say we are not in so much bad condition and the bull market can happen in this year. Last year bull market was for a very limited time and that was a pump actually. This year, maybe the real bitcoin bull will happen. Bitcoin can hit 12K USD at the end. Not bad for the price value we had it now. But honestly all prediction of the individuals here are not precise and accurate even they have reference for it, because all our statement whether fud or not it is still considered as speculations or opinion.  Perhaps, this might gave us a preparation to all crypto and bitcoin enthusiast to wait a little longer then our time will come then.

When I hear someone saying something along the lines of "BTC dead or BTC scam or BTC useless", I just laughed quietly to myself. Will not even waste my energy/effort on explaining such thing to them. They evidently don't know anything what they're talking about and it is pretty obvious that they bought the top of it.

These type of people usually don't appreciate when they are pointed to the correct information (explanation) about something that they believe in. They are very narrow-minded. Well, I'm still thankful that they exist because I'm sure that they bought the BTC that I sold on the 17k-18k area.  ;D

It seems that this is the best option, because most often the opponents of Bitcoin lead absurd and unreasonable arguments against Bitcoin. But such people are hard to convince otherwise. Now more often there are pseudo opponents of Bitcoin who simply make money by writing articles or creating videos in which they shout about the death of Bitcoin, although at the time of the fall they can buy Bitcoin knowing about its potential.

I do not like it when people cherry pick some random times and dates to proof a point, but this one is an eye opener. I hope we can build on that price trend for 2019, but I have a strange feeling that it might be the end of that curve. yeah, this is a growth chart not a retrogression. I also saw a bit about optimism about Bitcoin and also heard a lot about the bubble bursting, but it was not a bubble and was proven over the years.

With how bitcoin went thru, I'm sure that those people who called it as a bubble already find time to research deeper, as bitcoin is now a well known digital currency / investment assets, not even the current flow can say that, bitcoin will exist and compete with innovations the image of being a bubble is no longer a questions but an existing success years over years now.

Indeed, many peoples think bitcoin is 'dead' if the price of bitcoin falling greatly. The reality is, bitcoin just only being corrected from year to year, slowly to a higher price. Bitcoin is dead if no peoples use it anymore.

I do not bother much about what others say about bitcoins or crypto.  I had always been positive regarding the growth of crypto.

Bitcoin die many times and what? it is still in here. Bitcoin is still working. It is still circulating so no one should say that bitcoin is dead finally. When i invite someone to invest on bitcoin like what others says they also says bitcoin is dying and will never live again. I really hate knowing that there are still people that don't do research before they make decision or conclusions. So same what you're doing i always show the data of bitcoin from when it was created and how it is now. Presenting the price graph of bitcoin always changes their decision from not to invest to invest right-away.

Bitcoin price chart still shows good things. especially when it was fixed on September 22nd, and if you saw the movement that occurred in 2017, it should be later that the year bitcoin could be higher than 2017. But again, all that will depend on the demands.

Well, it doesn't make any sense to give any value to the words of criticizers who are criticizing without any base of theory. As we all know that, Bitcoin has survived the worst case scenarios in the past including the correction phase. People are just jealous of those who still have it. People who didn't buy Bitcoins are jealous that we have them. People in the fiat world can not understand the fundamentals of bitcoin and the blockchain technology, using graphs will only confuse and reason out what they always heard and read because of too much negativity from the people who invested because of hype, we must let the hype die down and all the speculative investors give up and move on. Those people who got involved when bitcoin is at it's highest are definitely the ones who keeps saying bitcoin is dead. I have never responded to those who say bitcoin is dead, they are too scared and frustrated. But when bitcoin recovers in the future it will be an experience for them so they can be sure of bitcoin.

That's a very good image data. I've already seen it somewhere. The funny thing is there are people saying that one can draw anuthing if he needs to prove it right and they do not see any ground to believe it.

Too many good uses for bitcoin being the original crypto currency for it to die -- now it's becoming much more widely accepted too.  Too much hyped up marketing by mainstream news outlets allowed it to bubble in the first place.

I am sure they say that bitcoin will soon die because it is based on despair over huge losses in the market slump this year. If not, why do they spread the word while Bitcoin has a history that has always been good from year to year. For me, saying Bitcoin will soon die is too much.

As you can see, it shows basically the same trend as your image: Bitcoin price seems to be growing steadily. However, there is another angle worth considering, let's check out the Volume for the same period:

So basically bitcoin volume (and hype, media, mainstream awareness, etc.) EXPLODED in the past 2 years. Therefore it's very possible that the last 2 bars of Price data, which really give the "oomph" to the price increase trend, are heavily influenced and/or possibly manipulated as a side-effect of bitcoin exploding in popularity only recently. Either way, thank you for the interesting data and for giving me the idea to investigate from another angle.

Edit: As for the next 12 months, I don't think the mass hype is over, so I think we will likely see a period where the price continues to grow, supporting your initial chart; however, since we had the massive downturn, we will likely also see a remarkable low this year (indeed we had one only a few days ago of $2,400) as the various market forces attempt to determine the real value of Bitcoin without as much hype as last year. In other words, I think we will see a 'high high' and a 'low low' in the same year.

You have a point mate, anytime Bitcoin price falls, there are definitely a group of people who come up with the idea that Bitcoin is dead and this trend cannot be altered. The best thing to do when the price goes down is to create more positive awareness as a community in order to prevent any form of FUD which can further deteriorate the market price of BTC.

It ia funny when a person who doesn't have enough information about cryptocurrencies says that the bitcoin s dead. I just ignore those person because they do not understand its function and potential. They will regret what they said because bitcoin will become more valuable than before.
