Post by: azertypaco on September 25, 2018, 04:13:11 PM
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated to this company.  I just saw their products advertised in the local ads and they seem legit.

Their web site:
https://ubimust.com/products/

The ad I saw:
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-achat-et-vente-divers/ville-de-montreal/service-de-minage-de-cryptos-monnaies/1373923567?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

The specs for the 8 card rig:

Ubimind ProLine

Hardware:
8 x Xilinx Virtex Ultrascale+ FPGA VCU
1525 64 GB
PSU Rosewill Hercules 1600s 2x
16GB DDR4 2400Mhz (on the Motherboard)
SSD 240Gb
Asus b250 Mining Expert
CPU Intel i5
Designed Optimize Mining Case
10 Magnetic Levitation High Speed Quiet Fan

Mining Speed:
Ethash (ETH, ETC etc..) 2.1GH/s per card.
Keccak (Smartcash, Maxcoin): 17GH/s per card.
Tribus (Denarius, Virtus): 2.1GH/s per card.
Phi1612 (Folm,Seraph): 650MH/s per card.
Skunhash (Multiple Coins): 1.3GH/s per card.

They are a 20 minute home from my place, but don't ask me to drive there, I am about to leave for a business trip ;)

right , any real hardware manufacturer will use SSL cert issued for 3 months ...

issued to ubimust.com

valid 8/8/2018 to 11/07/2018

Ethash at 2.1 GH/s per VCU1525 means the memory on the card must provide a bandwidth of around 17 TB/s for Ethash's DAG sampling loop.

The VCU1525 comes with 4 DDR4 DIMMs so it has a memory bus width of 256 bits.

Thus, 17 TB/s bandwidth on a 256-bit bus means it needs a DDR4 data pin speed of around 538 GHz.

The hashrate they are claiming is rather unbelievable considering that the fastest DDR4 DIMMs are only in the 5 GHz range.

(edited: corrected GB - TB typos)

2.1 Ghz per card seems a bit not realistic. I hope some miners of this capacity come out if not already but when I compare them to ASICS these seem to perform much better and I don't thing an FPGA to have a higher hash rate than an ASIC device.

From this website here in the link you can see that FPGA has medium performance and high power consumption against ASICS which have High performance and lower power consumption. That is why I think those numbers are not realistic.

Also you sell 50K$ FGPA plug and play devices and have blurry images on your webpage. Weird aint it.

17 GB/s  ???  ... maybe 17 TB/s ?

Yep, meant to write TB not GB, post edited to correct typos.

2x 1600w

why the huge over-spec?

this one seems fishy.

I wrote to the guy and I mentioned his too good to  be true hashrate.
He tells me he can show me everything in his shop in 1 week.

But in 1 week I will be away on a business trip for 2 weeks :(

And then I know this community does not trust new hardware without good proof or review by one of the Legendary members here.

I'll tell him to create a  thread here, maybe he can provide more information.

I agree the site seems off. However two times 1600w would be required to run that many VCUS ~350w a card.

Hi  guys,

Somebody  check  if  this company  and product  is legit  or not ?,   they don't show video with  rea-time hashrate showing

3 months is the standard length of time for a Let's Encrypt certificate. https://letsencrypt.org/
There is nothing wrong with a certificate issued in this way, versus one issued from any other certificate authority.

SSL certificates are not indicators of trustworthiness, they are merely conduits for encrypting web traffic!
