Hi altcoiners,
I'm working on a research project - a blockchain-powered search engine.
everyone will install a crawler in their own computer, indexing the web.
People will be mining the token by providing the best search result to the page.
Advertisers will also be paying ads with the token.
what do you think?
are you interested in trying out the software?

The idea seems to be promising, but somewhere I have already heard it. It seems almost the same project was not remember the exact name. In principle, I could participate in the testing of this product if there are no viruses and so on. Well, in order to develop a product you need a lot of money for marketing too. But will you be able to realize it in life your idea if the answer is yes, I do not mind.

I think this is a new idea (for me). But it's not almost good idea. I think people use search engines with two criterias: fast and accurate. Maybe they will receive the best search result but must wait to other ones search and send it to the page. In addition, If there are many people send their results, which will decided the best. If the requester decides it, they also have to check all the results again. I think all this processes will be spent too much time.

inventing a blockchain powered search engine will definitely make things much easier in cryptocurrency. Everyone will easily serach for crypto news and so many other informations

Just run it just like a web browser and give us the link here in order that we can test it, we are now more cautious on any software to be install on our computers.

How different is this to https://www.presearch.org if it is unique then bring it on and show it to us so we can test it and give you feedback but be sure that it is open source and there is no malicious code on it, people are now very careful on what they are installing in their computer especially if you are involved in cryptocurrency.

I am currently using the same platform but as my search engine but they required 1000 tokens to make a withdrawal. How about your platform? Do you also have minimum required numbers of tokens for withdrawal?

Please give me your official website's link as well as all the social media for me to check out if yours are better than what am I using now. I'm interested to try if I see advantages compare to the one I'm using.

Like google but with blockchain ?
I mean google is google already, if you think you can even rival google than you are wrong but you can't also beat the likes of bing, duckduckgo, yandex and any of them, these are billion dollar corporations. Now even if you manage to find blockchain as a feature for a search website than you know what will happen ?

One of these big websites will start using blockchain as well and than yours will be useless, as soon as those websites use blockchain and get some good feedback the others will follow and soon all of them will have blockchain to support their searches. I find it useless for you to even try something like this.

I can have a try but how can I trust your crawler that you are not asking me to install something which can steal my data. For your info, this is not the correct place to discuss about this, imo. I think it should be placed on project development.

I think Presearch (https://coincodex.com/crypto/presearch/) is already doing or is supposed to be doing something similar. Do you know of it?

i think it's a good idea. if you could create a truly decentralized and fair search engine that would be great, but the problem is making it used widely

I've just checked it out and they are doing some amazing job.
However, they don't maintain any search results themselves.
The idea is more like a blockchain-powered search result ledger.

That is the ultimate vision for the Presearch engine (https://engine.presearch.org), but it's a long-term project, and in the meantime, we've focused on the search federation model and leveraging existing APIs.
