Title: How about promoting فارسی (Persian) language to "Local" from "Other languages"
Post by: Ardavan2150 on September 29, 2018, 10:35:51 PM
Dear moderators,

I don't know what is the process of this, but I would very much like to see Persian as one of the main forum languages. The thread in "Other languages" has more than 69,000 views: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=620798.0

We have a bunch of high-ranked members:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=155751
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=156113
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=360176
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=138600
Aaaaan the list goes on.

There are a bunch of Persian crypto related sites with tons of traffic. I am sure we can attract a lot more people if promote the language.

Thanks a bunch.

AFAIK, the number of views isn't a major factor in it.

We have a bunch of high-ranked members:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=156113
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=360176
Rank doesn't matter as well but for the sake of this thread, let's take a look at the following users:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=156113
Last post on: May 27, 2018 (https://archive.fo/fOttp#selection-517.5-517.18) (a single post in local thread).
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=360176
Last post on: January 16, 2018 (https://archive.fo/C3KM1#selection-409.5-409.21) (23 post in local thread).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=155751
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=138600
These two users only posted once in the local "Persian" thread.

Conclusion:
- Same can be said about the activity on the local thread itself (lack of activity, in other words "not good enough").
  • Last post was on "September 01, 2018 (https://archive.fo/sJQ0C#selection-3329.0-3329.12)"
  • "ONLY" 31 posts for the past 2 months (from 14 unique users [mostly inactive]).

There are a bunch of Persian crypto related sites with tons of traffic. I am sure we can attract a lot more people if promote the language.
It doesn't work like that (it's the other way around).

I support this notion for the betterment of the forum and for cryptocurrency system. We should welcome all the members coming from different countries all over the world. The more people to join here the merrier it will be. This forum will be one of the medium for sharing thoughts about cryptocurrency and that includes the rich cultures of their country.

I know that theymos has consider adding local boards on this forum. It is just for the mean time that theymos has not yet provide the other local boards. As we all know that this forum continuously expanding in terms of numbers of people who join. Thus, we consider that this was one of the major contributing reason for high traffic posts on super mega threads.

Well probably this is already foreseen by the moderators of this forum.

It is not only Persian community that should be consider since there are other countries as well that are already been here. It is only a matter of time that they will come here asking to create a local board for them. This is not surprising. All great things starts on a small things which means creating a local boards for them will surely motivate other members to join as well.

Anyway, I wonder how much I could learn from them. I have tried already sneaking on some of the local boards and try to learn their language. The Nihongo is one of my favorite!
