Title: what to trust now?
Post by: Fredrosam on October 01, 2018, 07:55:56 PM
Recently I heard about Bitmex, it is a research team and I got so intrested in what theey are writing. Especially one article caught my attention. It was about ICO projects. This research publishes a new report analysing the Ethereum holdings of the ICO projects. They establish that the ICOs have already sold almost as much American dollar worth of Ethereum as they initially raised. They sell ethereum on more than 5 billion dollars. What do you think about it? How is it going to affect ethereum in the present and in the future?
And, not exactly on our theme, but still. What sites do you usually read if you want to know news about cryptocurrencies and some researches. We all read a lot before choosing an ICO to invest, but what sources do you trust the most?

Of course, selling Ethereum to liquidate money will effect Ethereum price and there is no workaround to avoid this, the only thing that can minimize this is by having some kind of balance between the money going out (ICO end and start to sell tokens) and new money coming in (new ICO starts and fresh money coming in) in short words demand and offer but that will not achieve the ultimate balance since the process of liquidating Ethereum will always be much faster than the process of raising money for new ICO.

As to which source to trust for new ICO projects, I honestly only take information from a wide source of sites and validate the information I am interested in before act according to it. Never just trust a source of news especially when it comes to ICO, the payment reviews and advertising have a great effect on the credibility of most sites.

There is nothing surprising. The market is bearish and projects want to save funds received from investors to start developing their plans. all the coins fall in this market, but ethereum at the expense of Ico suffers most. I think with rasvvorot all radically change

There is no need to trust anyone, in crypto currency
Simply trust yourself alone because every assumption is basically for selfish interests

I implore you not to be a victim of fomo or fuds
Do your own research always

I'm used to spending at least a week to study a project. Ofc, I don't trust rating sites without understanding, but they're necessary. I recommend icodrops, it's one of the most honest sites.

it's pretty negative for ethereum and crypto in general when it goes like that, icos raise eth > market goes down > every ico dumps their eth > what's that process called, well it's like dominoes.
apparently there's some legal thing where icos should not sell because then they are holding investors money rather than a crypto? does anyone know more about it?

There's nothing surprising. The market at present isn't favourable at all  so you need to take extra care when investing in coins and after investing in the coins, you have to hold these coins for sometime if you want to earn more.

I use most of the renowned online news portal. But, I do admit that most them are actually really biased, so I sometimes do my own analysis before the I start trusting or believing those articles. The best thing to do if you want information about ICO is to go through this forum and ask for peoples opinion, read their ICO thread and gather as much information as you can.

This forum is the best one to get some legitimate news.
You are going to be bashed here if you are not telling the truth so better you will almost get facts only.

About the Ethereum dump. It already happened and we've seen it plunged to a number where no one expected it.
But it cannot be all blamed with ICO's, there are still other factors that might made it happen.

I tend to trust my judgement most while using the only site I trust, icodrops, as a guide. I also read through the whitepaper, and this could me as along as 2 weeks, before making a decision. While at it, I ensure the project ticks all the right boxes in terms of criteria for choosing a project.

I will you to not trust any websites to invest in icos because of them are paid to promote the icos so we never know if that ico is legit or not, do your own research, ask questions in their official telegram channel and if satisfied fully then only you should invest.

The answer is nothing and no one. You have to make an exhaustive research if you are really serious about prserving your funds. Even legit stuff may become scam so be on your guard.

$50 Billions is astonishing. We keep our head thinking we all are going to make it big so the world will see how good blockchain technology but some of the people are making it look bad. There are users thinking it will rule over fiat but then we see then cashing out billions for fiat.  I heard about that news, there was even a south park animation about how bitmex scam their users. Its unclear though.

I trust in my own research on ICO projects. ICO drops is one of the most serious sites I list the projects that you analyze. The market today is full of SCAM projects. Without a good research, you can not avoid them. It is a shame if we do not do our own research, because it is the right time for the investment. The market is red, and that helps us buy the coins at a low price. In order to find some good investment projects, we can also use the bitcointalk, because it gives us complete and detailed information about the projects in progress.

I do not trust any sources. The best way to realize that project is not a scam for me is to look ta history of social media activity of their teem members. If there is not much information or the information is not correlated with whitepapper - the reviewed project is scam.

Related news about crypto currency that I used to read I immediately search on google only, sometimes cointelegraph and many others, I suggest never to believe in a thing if you don't know the certainty, and for Ethereum I think the price will exceed what they have ever achieved before

There is nothing to trust, when you are putting your money into any new coin or ico you have to keep in mind that you run the risk of losing your money if it turns out to be a scam project. You should also make sure that you are only putting in money that you can afford to lose in case anything goes wrong. Always do your own research.

I think this is a normal market behavior. Many projects need capital. It is normal for them to sell ETH for cash. The market is depressed now. Investing in ICO requires caution. We must examine ourselves. Any ICO website is just a reference. You need to rely on yourself to complete your investment choices.

Of course they will sell that because they want money fastly. But also i saw some reports there are too many icos which holding big amount of ethereum still..
That is also really good. That is nice because we can understand from here there are still some big companies which trust ethereums future value.
Glad to see some kind of report. But about sellers. They are free to sell their ethereums they are collecting money for their own projects so that is not a wrong thing i think.

Personally, I prefer open discussion communities that allow me to gain knowledge through the community, when one participates in the forums you can gain a lot of reliable information, as it is verified by individual users who take the time to investigate the truthfulness of an article or comment, that type of communities are reddit or this bitcointalk forum.

all you have to believe is your own beliefs. when you start investing in the altcoin that you want, you have to believe that the altcoin has a good future and will benefit you. what if you are hesitant and halfway in investing it is better to undo your intentions because only the anxiety you think is not profit.

You're right. The cryptocurrency market is still very young, there is no regulation on it, so trading and investing in it is very risky. However, the risk is compensated by large earnings. Everyone can decide for himself whether he should risk or not.

Just read everything you find about a project and make your own decision. No on can recommend any ICO, because in such market conditions, I would not invest in any project. I would just wait until the token will be listed on exchanges and buy at 0,1x from the ICO price.

Trust only to yourself as crypto has full of surprises. We can't rely on those websites as they can be make a good reviews in exchange for money from the ICO owners. Those project owner will do everything to get what they want. Just do a diligent research and decide base on your reviews and market situation.

Trust is very dangerous, especially in cryptocurrencies, which today are probably considered the most risky place where you don’t need to trust anyone at all. Cryptocurrencies are a place where there is a risk, and not a place for trust.

I believe, people should trust their instinct and don't just believe to anyone's advise immediately. Just do your own research and make your own selection for the chosen ICO and study further where you need to familiarize more if it is legit or not. There are still more scam ICO's in the market which people should be aware of and it would be better to acquire more knowledge since it could help you analyze clearly to distinguish the legitimate ICO from the scam ICO.

I think this year's bearish market really affects the ICOs with decreasing the number successful ICOs. On the other hand, it brings awareness to the investors that they need to do due diligence. Hoping that when bearish period is over, ICO investments will bloom again to bring balance to the selling and buying of tokens.

That is bad thing for ethereum but no need to worry about. They need to sell because they collected because of that. They need to money to create their company and develope their platform so these news are not really interesting for me. Eth will come back to their ath price in 1 2 years so no need to worry about eth price.

That is the most worst case scenario. If the owner decides to sell all the ethereum coin they hold, surely there can be a mass downspike of the ethereum price. But that is just completely normal considering that you and only you decides what to do on your coins.

Everything has a reason, Ethereum price collapse is not only for the Bear market rather millions of Ethereum sold by the whales and in future, but we may also see the lower price of Ethereum Like now, it is only 175 USD! I can't believe what is happening in crypto field. I hope everything will be fine again.

I read the news about it, too. But, it seems to me, it was necessary to sell, at least, when the ETH cost 500-600 dollars, and to sell collected funds  for 120-130 dollars for ETH is generally nonsense. this is too late, in my opinion.  I am 99% sure that many will soon be in a panic to buy back. It would affect the ethereum price for a big time. Since the ethereum sold is huge. And they are not just selling it for a big value but they sell it on a lesser value to get sold it immediately so there is a big chance for ethereum price to endure possible drops when this occurs.

all markets are falling and indeed we are a little lost in trust, especially for ico who have not paid for a long time and have not launched for a long time on the maket exchange. in my opinion for the current situation, we only need to trust the founder, manager, and development team. for example for etherum, we believe in vitality. for bounty ico, we trust bounty managers like sylon, amazix and others.

there are a lot of reviews about ICO and it is indeed a bit confusing to choose which sites can be trusted, but the real problem is not the site itself, but the ICO which should have run smoothly, but ultimately ended badly with unsatisfactory sales, all reviews are good but have a bad process, so our own assumptions are crucial
