Title: How Brexit will impact bitcoin
Post by: mronezigger on October 04, 2018, 09:36:11 AM
With the disagreement and  resignation of profilic members of the UK government

Though Significantly,I can't say or draw out what will be the case

Well, I believe that Brexit will result to shakes on the bitcoin crypto market flow

Then,Will the best deal for Britain affect the bitcoin market flow?

I don't think Brexit will impact Bitcoin per se.

In fact, I suspect the UK will need to position itself more favourably (regulation, etc.) within the Blockchain space as it looks to spur innovation/new revenues/capital. It treasures it's financial services, and going forward it will need to adapt to the potential exodus that could happen post Brexit by offering favourable regulation. So it could benefit bitcoin that way.

Yes, the brexit in my opinion, was not a well-conceived solution, but United Kingdom and the European Union I think it will be arranged neatly, and will send out all the problems that have arisen for such a solution. But talking about Bitcoin, I do not think that this will have some effect on his market.

The UK government have no effect whatsoever on the price or value of the bitcoin, this is purely politics and should be better suited in politics and society.

Nope, britain exiting the European Union doesn't affect the bitcoin market,if you feel it will, you put forth your reasons, and it'll be up for discussion.

It’s not likely to have any impact at all, neither positive nor negative. We’re waiting for something else to start the next bull run. It definitely won’t be BREXIT though.

How (and why) should a country leaving the EU have an (technology- or financial-based ?) impact on bitcoin ?

I don't see a single scenario where this would have an impact. Even if there was a specific political change which would affect bitcoin, those impacts would only be temporarily.
A small country like the UK can't have a big impact on something which runs all around the world (e.g. internet, bitcoin, ...).

I would be glad to hear your point of view - why and how the brexit could impact anything regarding bitcoin.

Brexit,British parliament,British Prime Minister and even the Queen doesn't have any impact on the bitcoin, this is a decentralized system, that government doesn't have control over..

Yeah some factors trigger the rise and fall of bitcoin and subsequent cryptocurrencies,But I'm sure Brexit wouldn't be one of them

The only impact I can see it having is if the UK economy falls off a cliff and the value of Pound Sterling plummets with it.  That outcome would certainly drive increased adoption as people look to secure their wealth in Bitcoin.  People will naturally flock to something that is highly resistant to political and economic turmoil.  There certainly shouldn't be any negative impacts on Bitcoin, though.

if the news from the UK is related then this will greatly affect the price of Crypto and it can be ascertained that Crypto will be dropped again in the near future. Hopefully this news will have its own option in the world of cryptocurrency.

I personally do not see any reason why Brexit would have any sort of effect on the crypto market.
I mean, I see people responding that it will, but I've not seen them give any sort of reasoning behind those thoughts.

Haven't got the slightest idea how it has anything to do with crypto to be honest.

There are deviations that one may never know the impact of the UK if they would leave EU would be, If its gonna impact the price of bitcoin or not, Well in my opinion there may be a small impact regarding the price of bitcoin but I think we can not feel the pressure of it, But I guess there will be a slight chance with the price, Aside that many are saying that it will not have a significant drop over the price is because many hodlers would protect their investment and would tap up bitcoin from their other investment if this things would happen.

In fact, I think that this should benefit bitcoin now if UK plans to have a of their own.
If people in UK wants to transfer money to people residing in Europe then they will need to exchange the currency which might be a burden.
Bitcoin could be used here as a savior. Just a possibility ;D which is hard to happen.
I don't think Brexit will make any huge impact on bitcoin and if you think does then do share your opinion.

I also don't believe we're going to see any impact, especially since it's going to be a lengthy process that is already making the headlines for years but...small country?:o
We're still talking about the 5th country in the world by GDP!!!

If people in UK wants to transfer money to people residing in Europe then they will need to exchange the currency which might be a burden.

Yeah, rather than changing pounds to euros they would change pound to BTC and then BTC to euros.
If the UK remains in the EEA they will still have access to SEPA which is pretty fast and cheap.

though the UK has its own legislation that mirrors EU legislations currently. thus no actual need to change much on brexit day

but after brexit there will be more freedom to allow parliament to start amending legislation to what parliament seems fit for them. and its at these times of new bills/amendments they normally would slip in amendments mixed in with other bills.
so we could see some regulations being added/removed/amended either openly or hidden in the mix of multiple amendments hidden in big bills

the forex exhcnage between GBP/euro will change as will GBP/USD.
we seen it a few years ago when the IMF added CHY to its SDR. many thought it had nothing to do with GBP but it did impact
and also with just announcing brexit caused movement in both gbp/euro and gbp/dolar, but thats more effecting the forex markets

this would have been a good time to instead of valuing bitcoin vs USD. it could have been btc vs minimum wage.
that way no matter where people live or what forex does, people know they only have to pay the equivalent of under 1000 labour hours.

which could be revolutionary because people could play th forex markets to get the best bitcoin deals, thus impacting forex and actually affecting wall street.. but thats a whole different scenario/idea for another discussion

i know people think that if the UK exchange rate to lets say USD is worse. EG less dollar per pound = disney holiday gets more expensive.. i see this as a good thing.

firstly the flip side. less dollar per pound = more pound per dollar. so this means the US can buy more from the UK cheaper. meaning they will buy more from the UK.
we will see U.S company outsourcing their call centres and remote services to the UK because we(british folk) can offer more for less.
we can start making things again because its more expensive for brits to import.
we will become more exporter than importer

so we could see the UK becoming a better prospect for crypto businesses looking for better labour costs than the usa

I don't see any implications of Brexit towards bitcoin. Perhaps in stock markets and mutual funds and other assets concerning EU and UK but bitcoin? Their economy (UK) might weaken for the first part of the separation but that's about it; all cryptocurrency-related trades are not heavily associated with UK's economy, and as such, there'll be a direct or indirect impact on bitcoin with this decision. Foreign relations, forex, stock markets and the likes would be greatly affected, but never the cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin.

As there aren't any significant exchanges in the UK i doubt brexit will have any impact. Binance is in Malta and the other top exchanges are in East Asia. Coinbase setup an office in the UK but it is new and has no real significance there.

I believe the Brexit will benefit the UK immensely.

Most of the cutting edge financials services are located in the UK nowadays.
Monese. Revolut. Wirex. How many more am I missing ?

As things are evolving today, the UK post-brexit may very well become a tax-heaven of choice for the EU citizens and companies, since they aren't subject to the EU rules anymore.

more of american facebook stuff will move out of america and into the UK because labour costs are better

other businesses will start up. UK could end up being the next palo alto

If I read in domestic stock groups and foreign stocks, England Brexit will not affect Cryptocurrency. if the UK wants a BREXIT, then all that will only reduce the purchasing power of the product itself. and moreover, Cryptocurrency is not centered on shares in a country. So Bitcoin will remain safe and will not be affected by Brexit England.

Only if they don't experience money shortages thanks to EU sanctions.  The EU can't stop GB from moving out but it can make the journey unpleasant, starting with with the so called EU divorce bill. Last time I checked Britain was to pay the EU something between 20 and 40 billion € and even if it leaves in 2019 it will have to keep paying its normal contributions until the end of 2020. They may find it difficult to keep taxes low at this point.

The Brexi it self was never a solution to the challenges faced between the bitcoin and the UK government, but what I think is that in the near future their will still come up with a new method just to effect changes in the bitcoin market. But as at now the Brexit will not have direct effect on bitcoin price and progress.

To be honest i cant believe that it hasnt impacted bitcoin pricing so far.
BREXIT is massive and there are problems in creating a solution to some
issues. If there is a "no-deal" the economy is going to suffer which is
looking like the likely scenario ATM. So in theory i would have expected
a lot of sterling to go into bitcoin.

The UK has been one of the most popular destinations.

Basically, all the influences of Brexit will be focused on the London financial services industry.

Uncertainty around how Brexit can influence the regulation of cryptocurrency and investing in it, since trade with the EU and the UK will become much more expensive and more difficult.

The British government is considering the need to regulate Blockchain and control the industry from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

I don't see any connection between brexit and cryptocurrencies. Britain isn't even a huge crypto market. I dare to say that if GB were to heavily regulate cryptocurrencies and limit people's access through KYC, we wouldn't face a huge move in price. It would of course be a different story if the new policy happened to coincide with a natural correction.
Brexit won't even impact Britain's economy very much. They will lose on some grounds and gain on other. I think long term it will be better for them.

in direct connection there will certainly not be any impact at all on Bitcoin or crypto widely, but if talking about indirect connection is rather difficult because it covers very many aspects involved here, but it cannot be denied that regulation makes Brexit a comfortable home for crypto users.
A small country like the UK can't have a big impact on something which runs all around the world (e.g. internet, bitcoin, ...).
in terms of size, the area is relatively small if you compare it to China but in terms of economic strength, the UK cannot be underestimated, especially with the power of Commonwealth.

I think that decrease in confidence in fiat money and traditional financial system only increases interest in Bitcoin, as an asset that is higher than this conventional system. Those who have a surplus of euro will convert them into cryptocurrencies. A similar situation is observed in Venezuela, Turkey and Iran.

Personally, I do not think that the Brexit will bring important consequences in the crypto market, because I remember that the day when it was announced that Great Britain chose to leave the European Community, all the markets of the world shuddered in a very disturbing way, but in the crypto market an absolute calm prevailed. That was the time to measure the possible relevance of this event in the behavior of bitcoin, but once again it became clear that the crypto economy moves in a different lane than conventional markets, so I have always insisted on the uselessness of applying conventional technical analysis in the crypto market.

my view is Brexit will not affect bitcoin.

Now why do I think so ?
- First Bitcoin as per me is a world currency, this will help countries to trade without boundaries and sanctions
- UK has already shown positive approach to to BTC, and EU doesn't want to take any drastic step toward it.
- China being the most powerful country was not able to completely stop crypto trading

Bitcoin was designed to be not allowed to be controlled. Since it is still at a very early stage whales are able to manipulate it.
But it wont be long when everyone will want a piece of the cake, there by increasing the demand and resulting in Bitcoin dumped being Bitcoin brought and the lows are over.

Just think about the whale who wanted to manipulate the market.

So, the conclusion is there are a lot of things that affects Bitcoin and Brexit is definitely not one of them.

In the very worst case scenario (like EU-UK negotiations resulting in a huge negative economic and financial impact), GBP will plummet. Therefore many people could be buying Bitcoin and other cryptos as a form of a safe haven for their savings. Depending on the number of buyers and the value of their purchases, this could even start an uptrend.

Yet in general, it should not have any significant impact.

It is unlikely that Bitcoin will somehow react to the UK's exit from the EU. After all, Brexit is not directly and indirectly related to Bitcoin. Bitcoin usually reacts to news from politics, if only they relate to it directly, such as limiting the use of Bitcoin in China, Bitcoin has reacted by lowering the price.

Brexit can affect crypto market only in the case big funds want to speculate about, reducing a lot sterlin value.
But this is not the case considering the actual crypto market status...
