That looked he was trying to get annoying reporters out of his face, I would've said the same thing. This is definitely the man - you think they just happened to find a guy named satoshi nakamoto who happens to even know what bitcoin is? That's like finding a needle in a hay stack...

Dude, hes living in LA and i'm pretty sure most avg person have heard of bitcoin. Having the same name of the pseudoname of bitcoin creator, you would rather be curious what the hell bitcoin is.

Yes.  If he wanted to remain anonymous his response should have been "What is a Bitcoin?"  Then said, "Oh.  That crazy tulip ponzi scheme thing that I read about a while back?"

Nope.  The "average" person here has not heard about it.

I live about an hour away from "Satoshi" (2 hours with traffic!  LOL)  And I mentioning to some friends that I was going to try and fund my mission trip to India in the Fall with Bitcoin last Friday night.  In a room of about 10 people not even one of them had ever even heard about Bitcoin.  Several of them are quite wealthy BTW.  Granted, none of them are "high tech" at all.  The ages ranged from 25-55 though.  

No, the average person does not know about bitcoin - especially the name of the man who invented it. He is directly quoted saying he is not longer involved in it. Why the hell would you say you're no longer involved in something you barely know anything about.

His name is Satoshi Nakamoto. He must get crank calls all the time.

Only the One True Satoshi would deny being the One True Satoshi!

About the "quote" by the journalist that doxxed him: Journalists put quotes out of context, make quotes up, or ask variations of a question, sometimes for 10+ times just to get a quote that they know they can use out of context. The quote in the article could be a result from any of the above.

I'm disappointed that so many from the Bitcoin community would take the word of a desperate journalist so quickly.
