Title: Is KeepKey hardware wallet safe enough?
Post by: larkinvain on October 08, 2018, 11:49:26 PM
We are all familiar with Ledger and Trezor Hardware wallets. These wallets are very safe, but today, in an article, I have seen a new wallet was comparing with these two wallets. That new Hardware wallet's name is KeepKey. Have you used this one? Is it good to buy and use? Share your experience or thoughts.

I haven't used it because I'm sticking to Ledger.

If you are worried about it, Keepkey is also a good wallet suggested by bitcoin.org

all users here are only familiar with Trezor and Ledger Nano and both are the favorite hardware wallets for crypto users. but I have read some reviews about the keep key and many people who use or recommend it.
look at this https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/keepkey-wallet/

I think users of this wallet are still rare and most of us still use the old wallet that has been mentioned above because we still believe and are proven safe, but if anyone uses it, we can also explain the advantages https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/keepkey-wallet/

Thank you for the link. Actually, I have ledger Nano S, but I wanted to try the new thing and to find out what is new here. As Bitcoin website recommend it as a safe wallet then we are good to go on it. Thanks again.

Yes it is recommending that hardware wallet too.

I want to try other hardware wallets as well, same as you that I have my ledger too. Share you experience here after purchasing Keepkey, I want to try all of them soon but for now I've gotta stick to Ledger nano S.

Don't mention it.  ;)

Maybe you did not get what I asked in this post! But You need to know Myetherwallet isn't safe enough, though they made Mew Connect to secure user's funds But that doesn't enough! Hardware is the best way to keep your funds safe. You may search on google to find out more info about hardware wallet. Good Luck.

I have not used that one but probably it is a good wallet otherwise no one will buy it.

It also does have a support so you can ask them questions on security if you want.

Nano ledger is a very bad wallet, have you seen so many bad reviews about that? You should visit the crypto news site and take a look on a bunch of the news that reported that nano has been getting hacked in so many times. I should recommend trezor and this almost a year and it has been providing a very good security measure. Trezor is a good wallet and keepkey should be placed on 2nd place.

Using any wallet depends on your needs and comfort. Ledger Nano and Trezor may have been used too much. Not that you don't have to try new things. Of course what we need to analyze is the aspect of security and ease of use. Thank you for your insight, it will be useful!

You can find some reviews regarding this hardware wallet in the youtube channel. But I guess this hardware wallet is good, and can be compared to trezor and to other hardware wallet. As long as its feature is up to latest build that withstand any attempt from the hacker.

I guess you are talking about this? (Man’s Life Savings Stolen from Hardware Wallet Supplied by a Reseller (https://news.bitcoin.com/mans-life-savings-stolen-from-hardware-wallet-supplied-by-a-reseller/))
If this is one of the review and incident you are saying, the guy bought from a third party, he bought a used nano that already has generated private keys. It didn't came directly from the manufacturer on France.

I have no problems with Ledger Nano S and I've been using it for a couple of year. Trezor and Keepkey is a good wallet but I'm comfortable using nano.

Yes, I know that because I am a Ledger Nano S user too. But I wanted to know about Keepkey hardware wallet. Maybe no one didn't go for it yet, because everyone has two great options, Ledger and Trezor! But I want to test the new hardware wallet actually, So, I will try to buy Keepkey wallet after getting a good payment!

What interests you, the new KEEPKEY wallet?  If he has a price lower than TREZOR or LEDGER, or he has features to improve performance.  And yet this is a new product, it can not be not finalized, as its counterparts.  Large amounts are best kept on time-tested wallets.

I guess online wallet or pc application wallet is much more secure and robust like Armory, myetherwallet etc. you should be the one who handles the private key and it is quite vulgar that you will going to store many cryptocurrency in a hardware wallet and it might have some hidden features that can access your account.

my friend has a Keepkey and he did not get any trouble with it til now, at least
but I think if you never used an hard wallet before, you should stick to famous brand first

That sounds silly. Cold wallet is a must to have item if you want to store your cryptos safely. Cold storage is the ONLY best solution. KeepKey HW wallet is a good wallet, but I believe Trezor and Ledger support more crypto wallets than KeepKey does. I might be mistaken, though. I own a Ledger Nano S.

I personally did not use such a wallet. I have a Ledger and a Trezor, but these purchases were not very smart. I do not keep money on them now.

I havent heard about this hardware wallet. But I think that currently the best hardware wallet is Coolwallet because it is more mobile, you can take it everywhere :).
